I'm a very strong and athletic man and have decent size too (5'11" 200lbs, ~15% bodyfat) and walking in to a Muay Thai class for the first time and seeing 15 year old kids much smaller than me throwing strikes just as hard as me, and moving much more fluidly was quite humbling. @@GodO4- Maybe it comes first in BJJ.... because in a "Actual" martial art or fighting technique is everything. You can just tap tap tap punch someone with 60-70% percent of power and drop him as the body isn't durable. So speed and Technique > Power

As an MMA fighter, fighting is definitely scary, even after all the training and hours put in. But that fear is a good thing. It keeps you aware, fast, strong. What worries me is a hard liver shot, I've never had that happen but I've seen guys like Daniel Cormier fold from them, and he's one of the toughest men walking the planet. As a Jiu Jitsu/Judo grappler, its really fun to fight. The tension before a tournament and the adrenaline after is addictive. Its like building a piece of furniture out of wood by scratch. before you build it you think "man this looks rough, what if it doesn't turn out how i want it to?" you start to build and it starts getting fun. Soon, it seems like as you're building it, all you can think about is the project. and once you finish, you're satisfied and proud of yourself that you built that piece of furniture out of wood, out of scratch. And you want to continue making more right after.

Grew up in an abusive home, and got bullied in elementary school. Used to go body shots with other boys in middle school in the bathroom, I loved winning and using my pain to hurt them. Plus I learned how to build my own resilience to pain, so I wouldn’t be hurt no more at home. Once I got to HS, I found boxing. Fell deeply in love with it and that really helped. I stopped for some years after that, kids, marriage, work etc. then recently this year in January, brother-in-law brought up boxing. Says he likes and wants to know more about it, I fell in love again. The fire is back. The passion is back. It never left me, I just never paid attention to it. For any man or boy out there going through bullying and abuse like I did, listen to this video. Go learn how to fight. Don’t be afraid, use that anger and pain and make it YOURS. You may feel weak, but I promise you, you’re not. USE that hatred you feel like I did, make it worth something. You will grow so much when you do. I love you 💜

What you said reminded me of some guy friend I had, he was not the fighting type person. He looks very calm and kind off mysterious person, he's not that tall and not that big, he doesn't work out because he studies a lot and has some sort of perfectionist tendencies going on. I remember three fake friends he had started bullying him, even if he may seem like a very relaxed person, he had anger issues but he was hiding them as much as he could, even though you could tell he had them if you knew him enough. The thing is that one of those bullies was 6'1 and he was very muscular and kinda aggressive; he constantly provoked my friend, and he was doing his best to hold back because he was actually scared of fighting him, and I don't blame him. The other two of his friends encouraged him to beat him, but the day their actual fight happened in a party... that "aggressive" tall and strong guy found out who my friend really is when he's showing his true anger. Lol That bully got some hits in, but he was the one who had to go to the hospital because of how serious the injuries in his face were. I'm still happy I had the chance to experience that fight.

First focus on endurance and cultivating your stamina to last a couple of rounds Try running 1km Skipping rope for 5 min Practicing boxing stance according to your style Start with jabs and develop muscle for complex movements like pivot and head movement and dodging Also avoid sugar as it interferes with the emotional state of the person Definitely know how to hand wrap before punching anything PS: can you tell how to set up a bag in a room, I have always tried it outside and am looking to buy one. Do you hang it somewhere? Or does it have a stand for the room?

This is one of the greatest, most alive feelings ever because of the fact its real. Its honestly became another reason to live and help brought more meaning to things I loved/liked in the past. Even if sparring isnt your thing, try it atleast once or rarely from time to time. Had I not started training/sparring, couldve made one of the worst choices ever. If by chance someone reading this is sucidal, do not do it, its a lose-lose situation. (And cowardly honestly, I cant deny that even for people I knew that suicided, its sad they are gone but just cant respect the choice, thats basically letting demons fully win.) Stick until the end. Never know what could happen if you dont. Take care all.

You should feel what it’s like to be in a firefight the feeling is unlike anything is addictive I know it sounds bad and I don’t know if any other military personnel will admit this but it’s amazing you really start to live for it it’s like your meant to be there the sheer adrenaline the constant struggle to kill or be killed fighting with no boundaries it does make me feel sick sometimes when I think that’s how I really feel that you get a rush from potentially killing someone but it’s the truth

Damn, I love fighting but it easily becomes an addiction. I only had 2 street fights and even though I know, that they were stupid and dangerous, I still can't get over them. Now I haven't had a fight in 2 years. I'd love to do it with someone on a similar level, who also has the urge to have a consensual fight just like that. I'd like to go to a mma gym, but there's only one here and it requires a contract, which makes me feel bad. Everything else is so far away. I wish every town in the whole world had organizations like streetbeefs, arrows, king of the streets, where you just go and they look at how you fight and match you with a good opponent and then you just fight, no matter how much experience you have. It's something that society truly needs in my opinion.

I’m not a MMA fighter but I was a soldier. The first time I got into a firefight I finally understood. It is the oddest and most surreal feeling I’d ever encountered, at the time I wasn’t scared, that came after, thinking about it. It was the most powerful high I’ve ever experienced and I’m shamed to admit it but it was so innately primal it was also exhilarating beyond explanation. The reason a lot of vet have troubles after does have to do with bad memories from those experiences and I have those too, but another part of it is because you cannot reproduce the raw primal emotion outside of the actual act of being that close to death, it is the most powerful drug in existence, it’s addictive and it’s destructive. Just like any drug it makes you feel good but if you do it for too long it consumes and destroys you.

I honestly just thought that's how all boys grew up, didn't realize so many people are afraid of conflict because they didn't have to encounter it much. When you go years of having to watch over your shoulder for a group of guys jumping out of a car to come pile you, and have to deal with it multiple times when they catch you and fight off 4 guys, the thought of fighting 1v1 in a cage with gloves and rules doesn't really make you blink.

In combat the main difference is upbringing & or circumstances 2 lead 2 later like U stated. There's competitors, protector's, defender's,far from the same especially when it comes 2 reason & or purpose in doing when in desperate circumstances or situations or possibly thrill or not knowing better.

I gotta say this videos on point! You go into a kind of flow state and everything just works better. You see differently and hear differently and it definitely worth it. Each year my point of view changed and was shaped by my sensei or coach and even my sparring partners, be they male or female. But I have learned that strength, humility, compassion, self control, and confidence among many more can only be learned through the fire of combat. Loyalty and friendship can only be cultivated during strife alone side others. And confidence can only grow after a success, or during a great failure

To be a fighter, wrestling is a great way to learn what you're capable of taking. "Again" is what you must say to yourself every time you get knocked down. & this is just for building your physical toughness. I remember when I worked at a group home, I tired everyone out, even after one of my friends lifted me off the ground by one calf (in an actual fight I woulda slammed my fist into his nose as hard as I could as soon as I saw him start to reach his arms around my leg), & onto my back. Shit hurt in the best way. I still got up, & said "Again".
