You are spot on! I am a veteran, world traveled, educated and of means. I fell into this trap, of marrying a single woman with two kids. Worst mistake of my life! Fortunately, I am divorced now, and had enough wealth off-shore to financially break her financially, for a very good divorce settlement. I was on the verge of losing 50-60% of what I had worked 40 years to achieve. I will never make that same mistake twice!

I'm catching this late unfortunately. Definitely appreciate this. I spoke up every time when her child was acting out. Even though this was a "conservative" woman she sided with her daughter most of the time. Needless to say, and thankfully, I escaped that hell. I even think she came across the article one day about your opinion on single moms. She brought the details mentioned in the article up to me and while I was still very much with her I said straight up, "the guy is right."

The most she can do is use his old as$ and leave. He will be alone forever. What if he gets a 40 yo woman without kids you think- well she must be mentally struggling because every woman by this age if she never had kids she must have lost her mind because of that. Dated a single mother for 2.5 years with two kids, one 13 boy and a 21 year old girl. Never tried it with her daughter - actually I got along with her. The boy was at times a thorn. The father gave nothing so I spent my resources on them. 9 months later she put me on the street, partly because in her mind I wasn’t going to help her get citizenship. If you are, you are probably being helped by your mom and dad so you shouldn’t be giving opinions in such subject. Some woman didn’t choose to be a single mom. I clearly saw how hard it was for my amazing mom. Work + kids. Alone. No one to leave us with. She never dated no one after my father to protect us. We were her priority. Man nowadays love cold hearted abortion type of woman. Please, if making your kids a priority is bad, you have no business being with a hardworking single mom that has no time for games, immaturity and weakness. They are too strong for most man. I wish I knew this stuff years ago. I married a single mom who had a 7 year old daughter. I scolded the daughter once because I saw her wind up and kick my puppy in the guts while wearing boots. The wife threatened to go to the police with a child abuse claim. After the divorce was filed, and the wife was out of the house, I discovered there was a lot more going on. While watching a video on my ipad of the wife screaming at me (I had the foresight to record things) the dog would start wimpering, cowering, and crying. I tested this by watching the same video a day later, and the dog once again cowered and cried. I'm guessing she abused the dog (pup) when I was at work, and that's where her daughter learned the behavior from.

I knew deep down, it was probably going to be a bad idea, but I went through with it anyway... because love... I set my heart on this girl, and her kids... It wasn't long before the well being of her kids became the most important thing in the world to me. and honestly, I still look back at that time like the best time in my life... but, like you said... shit just didn't work out, and in an instant, I was no longer a part of their lives... these children I loved with all my heart, where no longer a part of my life, and there wasn't anything I could do about it... that shit broke me down so bad, it took me literally years before I would even let somebody close again. In the case of a widow I would be careful. Because while it is not her fault that she lost the father of her children, she may also cling to him forever whether she admits it or not, which would cause a lot of problems with any new perspective man. The man has to do what's in his own best interest because the woman isn't going to do that; she'll be pre occupied with the best interest of her kids and rightly so. I don't think a man should settle for that because it will never be the same experience as with having children with a woman for the first time together.

💯% Undated a woman with a 12 year old daughter. The daughter like to boss us around and the woman would just go along with it. I brought it up to her and she acted like it was a personal attack on her daughter. I didn't have an issue with the child my issue was with her not correcting the child. So I broke up with her.

damn it really does seem single moms are all the same. I just broke with my gf. she has a 12yo daughter bossing her around. two days ago I was leaving for a beer or two after spending the whole weekend with them. when her daughter asked where I am going I said I am going for a beer. so the kid started yelling "alcoholic". quite disrespectful since I have my shit together quite well but like my damn beer. mom just laughed and thought what a fun. at the door mom told me "see even the kid says so". that was it for me. I know that little spoiled one is just too stupid to understand but I expected her mom to stand up. nope, not all. when I told her what pissed me off she acted like I was attacking her child; however, what pissed me off was her not doing shit about it and using it for her own agenda. fuck that. always fkn high drama, daily mood swings and at the end of the day I was the bad one. just don't date single moms.

Not only does the single mother allow her kids to disrespect you, but the kids also allow their friends to disrespect you. If its teens it gets worse..the male wants to kick your ass, and gets his friends to help, if its a female, she calls her boyfriend. This mess just mushrooms, and the single mother sits back and watches.

He abandoned his family when they were 1 and 3 years old, signed a paper that said he gives up all rights to the kids in exchange for not paying child support and yet this boy thinks this guy is the best father in the world. I have had to deal with all kinds of shit and I am just tired. A couple of weeks before I was decorating the Christmas tree with her and the kids. Now I don't see or hear about them or her. You don't matter in this scenario, you're like a treat, a luxury, you're not a necessity. The last I heard from her was that she was dating men from Bumble because she gets 'lonely'. It's honestly a lot of investment from you, for very little return and a slim chance of a future. The heartbreak was much worse because you fool yourself into thinking that they're family. The key to every one of the main characters' happiness is found in a man. This is the message in a movie aimed at fans of a show based on the ideal of strong, successful, independent women. And the funny thing is, most fans of the show didn't even notice the contradiction.

I don't have children so perhaps I can't know anymore than a man does about what a mother feels for her children. All I know is that I have noticed that childless adults of both sexes are in tremendous demand as second spouses. Any childless single woman who has been roommates with a single mother understands why men don't want to date single mothers. My time in such a roommate situation lasted less than a month. We were not a same-sex couple, but she sure started thinking that she could use me for financial support and free childcare. I have compared notes with other women and found that my situation was far from unique. I can imagine that my problems would have been much worse if I had been a man because she would have been even less willing to accept my leaving. I am sincerely sorry for the difficulties faced by single others, but I would not live with another one.

You made a good, honest testimonial. I was married to a single mom with one child about 35 years ago. The marriage was an unmitigated disaster and lasted 3 1/2 years. It was everything you pointed out and more because she had mental problems that existed before we got married and she hid her affliction from me. Plus, she only married me because I had lots of money and a terrific career. She was a '8' in beauty and I'm not a prize in the looks department and that's how I got hooked. I've been single ever since and am loving life. I'm near retirement and am pretty well set for life. I will not subsidise another woman ever again.

She's living with her single-mom daughter in an apartment in the same city she's lived in all her life. The ex-wife never had any kind of job skills for anything more then a minimum wage job. She worked as a receptionist and in fast food restaurants and never could plan for retirement because she lived paycheck to paycheck, so it's going to be a tough time for her in her old age. The reason I know this? Because my co-workers son is her daughter's ex. Small world isn't it? As I sit in my comfortable home that was paid off long ago, with my future plans nicely configured by me, I can't help but consider the 'what ifs' in life. If she wasn't such a egotistical bitch, she would be here with no worries and never having to work a day in her married (to me) life. To paraphrase a line from Russel Crow in "Gladiator"; "The decisions you make in life today ripple throughout your future".
@jeffsmith81977 жыл бұрын
I feel sorry in that she fell for the empowered "I Am Woman Hear Me Roar" crap and could never conceptualise a time when she wasn't a hot babe. But I don't see her as a 'victim' because in today's society that can be a cop out for losers. She is a loser. She had a nice mom and dad. Her siblings did okay. She wasn't an imbecile and she wasn't physically handicapped in any way, so that puts her in an upper percentile of people in today's world. She was born with the exceptional looks that easily opened doors for her when she was young and she abused her unearned privilege with arrogance for men and a superiority complex with other women. As George Carlin once said about people: "There are a few winners and a whole lotta losers" in life. In my mind, that doesn't mean you can't have compassion for folks who are going through a rough stretch in their lives, or those unfortunates who don't have the smarts to have comfortable lives, but rather it's about poor choices and exhibiting repellant attitudes. I cannot abide that.

I last saw her at the divorce. You said there's no feminism in your country? What country is that?
@jeffsmith81977 жыл бұрын
I've read that the Nigerians have a firm hand with their women, as it should be providing it's the firm hand of a benevolent husband and not the rule of a tyrant. The Nigerian birthrate is 5.5 per woman with European Union nations trailing with a pathetic average of 1.35. and the United States at 1.93. What this tells me is that in countries that have control of their women and where the evils of feminism do not exist, then that country enjoys a high birthrate and has maintained the traditional family unit. In the "progressive" and feminised countries of the West, the European people are dying off because we do not have control over our women and the idea of a traditional family unit has been ridiculed and demonized for several decades. The west is committing suicide by feminism.

Dated a single mom for 7 months after coming out of an 8 year relationship. We had top tier chemistry but she was very aggressive in pushing to advance the relationship and when I tried to slow it down she would emphasize how she “doesn’t have a lot of time and isn’t here to mess around.” She has a victim mindset and brought a lot of drama and tried to pit my friends against me. I broke up with her. Reached out 4 months later to rekindle and we attempted to give it a shot but she held a grudge against me from the first go around. Kept telling me this most recent time how I needed to earn her back, constantly gave me mixed signals, was selfish, solipsistic, and backed out 3 weeks into the rekindling process. Overall, she was drama ridden, victim mindset, and put down the vast majority of men she dated. The only ones she didn’t put down were blue pilled betas who she used them for their resources and left. I doubt she will ever find her Hallmark ending. Avoid single moms like the plague, boys.

Its a romantic notion that it doesnt matter that they have kids, but it does. I have dated a few single moms and it was ALWAYS a terrible experience. Their entire existence revolves around their kids and once in a blue moon, when she feels lonely AND has a few minutes of free time, then and only then will you receive attention. And most, if not all of them, are still obsessed with their ex husband/boyfriend to the point of absurdity. And here is the most brutal truth of all gents, one that never gets brought up, they will ALWAYS look at you as a beta male for being with them at all. Women are attracted to alpha males and alphas do not go after women that have already spawned with another alpha. Sad but true, but you will always be seen as a beta male simply because you are willing to look past all the bullshit just to be with her. Try as we might to convince ourselves otherwise, we are simply selfish animals. Complicated selifsh animals, but selfish animals nonetheless.

I am a widow and have a 15 year old son. My husband died 9 years ago. It's been a struggle ever since his father died. Now he has become a disrespectful holy terror. He's bigger than me and he won't listen to me. I would honestly love to have a big strong good man to whip him into shape!! He would never be acting like this if his father was here. Being a single mother is beyond hard. And to those women that still have their kids father alive and well, either try to work on the marriage for your children, or be fantastic co-parents! Either way, kids don't take mothers seriously, and they desperately need boundaries and discipline! Good men are priceless! I would treasure, at this point having a significant other who would maybe teach him how to grow into a good man and respectful human being. Ladies, don't throw the fathers of your kids away. It's about the kids, not you. So if you still have the opportunity to reconcile, for the love of God, take it.

I am the father of an 11-year-old daughter, who is ruling her mother with an iron fist, it just seems to me, there is little hope her mother is going to be able to control our daughter‘s behavior. It’s interesting how at the site of me my daughter falls in line quickly and happily. She told her mother she doesn’t have any guidelines, and allow her to do anything she wants, my daughter even told me, she feel it’s wrong for her mother to give her the freedom she’s giving her, but I don’t. My daughter told me for this she feels like I love her more, can you believe that. I told her mother what my daughter said. The mother thinks our daughter doesn’t understand this, what a foolish thing to think, she’s 11 years old. It’s gotten completely out of control, in fact my daughter doesn’t allow her mother to tell me anything when daughter is misbehaving because she knows I am not going to tolerate it. So now she threatens her mother, she’s hits her mother, kicks her mother even spit on her mother......yes yes yes she’s done it all to her mother to the point her mother is completely afraid of her. I am so freakin angry, but not at my daughter, I am angry at the mother because I warned her many years ago these things were going to happen if she does not apply some discipline in my daughter’s life and or behavior, I saw the signs.

@may day if you were married or been in a relationship long enough with a woman, you would see why men are deciding to go celibate (not screwing other men) or stick with escorts. Less headaches, misery and more money with time in your pockets. I tell other men marriage is for selfless people whom are willing to sacrifice for their spouse. Sadly, the system ensures that the husband stays traditional but the wife doesn't have to. There is no benefit for men today to stay in a relationship with a conniving being whom only wants what she can get out of it without putting anything (or as minimal as possible) into it. She may put up a good act at first until the man thinks he's marrying his dream woman only to find out who she really is later...like black widows I tell ya.

my bio dad was a raging alcoholic who beat the shit out of my mom and me. after she left him, we struggled. ramen and Mac and cheese every day. she met my step dad who accepted me as his own and raised me to be a decent human being. I could have easily become a statistic. I am grateful for that man. dating a single mother isn't for everyone, but thankfully there good men out there who do.

Ashley grant, yeah being on both sides of the coin I am conflicted. I was raised by a great man, he is my stepfather, as much of a father as any good dad Ive seen. Yet, I was in an LTR with a single mother of three. Idk. It got pretty messy and yet, my stepdad and mom are still together, going strong. I wanted to replicate their success, but I am just lost now.

A man taking care of another mans kid is one of the most noble acts a person can do. It helps to heal society. The problem as I see it, is most single moms don't show the proper respect or appreciation for what the man is doing. Humans are funny, when they don't get the respect or appreciation they deserve for being kind, they stop doing it.

This is so true. I dated a single mother for 5 years and was reduced to a babysitter/chauffeur/handyman whom she treated like garbage near the end. Forget about being a priority in her life; you are #324, after the kid's school, the kid's taekwondo, the kids piano, soccer. You are valued to the extent that you can be a resource provider for her one true love. Despite all I gave to her and her child, she would still dismiss my sacrifices in order to claim the perverse pride of being a single mother. AND, if the woman is a mother to a boy, get ready: at a certain age her subconscious lust for that boy will surpass her lust for you. You will see a deep intimacy in their relationship that doesnt exist in the shitty one she maintains with you. Guys have their heart in the right place, and a messianic complex, thinking they can rescue a woman. YOU CANNOT. The woman has already been rescued by her child. At best, you're the comic sidekick to the rescuer. There are no absolutes in life, obviously; but dating a single mother in the hope of finding love, affection, and a soulmate is pretty much a fool's game. Her child is her soulmate.

My experience was nearly the same at the end. The amount of things I was fixing was endless. I felt like I was maintaining two houses, mine and hers. These self proclaimed feminist mothers, that say they can do it all... yes until something breaks, then they lean on you. Also had a similar experience where there was some creepy son/mum behaviour going on, like she was leaning on the boys for way emotional support then what a mother should have.

You know what is even more stupid than dating a single mother? Have another children with her. I was that guy. I love my daughter, but I won't lie to you guys, I literally ruined my life and I have PTS from this relationship. I regret it every single minute. It is even worse because I do not want my daughter to know my regrets, so I put on a mask and I live a nightmarish life everyday. I did not take my life away because I love my daughter too much for that. Sorry for my bad English. But I warn you: if you are going to date a single mom, make sure that you really know what you are doing...

Aren't you in the same position as "single moms" now though? You have a child from another woman, you chose to lay with her, surely that puts you in the same category? However there are people telling you to find a nice childless woman, yet if you do, she will be in the exact same position as you were when YOU dated the single mom. I don't understand the hypocrisy... 😂 I truly don't think you should be lumped into the stereotype however. I don't actually know you, so I'm in no place to judge or have an opinion I know nothing about, or what isn't actually any of my business. Even if we think we choose the "one", there is certainly no guarantee of a happy future. People change, life happens, and those who judge solo parents should bite their tongues as there is no guarantee in life they won't become one too 😘

my neighbor who is now in his 60s married a woman who already had 5 kids with 2 different men...and then he went on to have 2 kids with her 7 kids total 3 men..the oldest stepchild is early 40s..so this woman had her first kid when she was around 18....one day I helped him repair his roof and we were talking had a few beers and he told me all I he wanted was to be a air force pilot but he was young and stupid and had the save a hoe mentality..he was already accepted to college and ready to go...told me do not let anyone get in the way of your dreams no matter what...this was 20 years ago and I run into now and then and he always asks" do you remember what I told you" I sure do.

Tried it once when I was 35. Absolute worst relationship ever. Woman was a closet alcoholic, the Ex was a drug addict with a gun. they fought non-stop, she moved her DAD into the place, the 2 kids were 1-3 and she tried to make me a stay at home dad. I was the 5th priority. When I broke it off after 3 months she lied to me about being pregnant, then gangstalked me with her friends. SHE WAS NEVER PREGNANT. NEVER DATE A SINGLE MOM unless maybe shes a widower and the kid is dead and the ex is out of the picture. LMAO

I disagree you don’t put the child first. You put the spouse first. If the foundation isn’t strong the house crumbles. Kids need to see they aren’t the center of the universe. They need to see how a mom and dad take care of each other first. Single moms use “my kids come first” as a cop out to avoid discipline. Single mom raise spoiled brats. They don’t want to stand up to their kids. But they will tell you not to make them behave. You are allowed to be a wallet and entertainer to the kids. That’s it.
@karlkindle52755 жыл бұрын
