Your analysis is absolutely correct. Marlon Brando's acting is quite natural, I've observed this while watching his films. A Streetcar Named Desire, On The Waterfront, The Wild One, Julius Caesar and of course The Godfather. Also his haunting performance in Apocalypse Now even though as a supporting actor is extremely powerful. The scene in On The Waterfront where Brando's character cries when his brother dies, and the scene with the dialogue "You don't understand I could've had class!" before that, really makes you question whether it's acting or living. His speech in Julius Caesar as Mark Antony is something else altogether! Daniel Day Lewis's Method acting is Method Madness. For him acting is a dangerous profession! XD. He took Steinslavski's method in its fullest. The months of tough preparation that he put himself through can be seen in all his performances. How he spent time in prison and had intensive mock interviews for In The Name Of The Father, how he remained in character on and off the set throughout the shooting period. I've always been surprised watching his performances in his films. And you were right about the fact that both Lal and Brando showcase characters, with great depth compared to that of actors like Daniel who does the same with extreme preparations. Now what I am gonna say is probably not an intelligent observation, but in the case of Mammooty, his acting style, his ability to use different slangs and accents, it's quite similar to Gary Oldman's "Big" style, even though Oldman played mostly villainous characters.

Mohanlal is something Extraordinary or epitome in his style... He have done and proved all kind of roles... -Kamaladalam -Vanaprastham -Iruvar -Rangam -Sreekrishnaparunth -Pranayam -Padamudra -Thanmathra Etc.. Like films he follows method acting and at the same time -Vasthuhara -Sadayam -Kireedam -Bhramaram -Bharatham -Namukku parkkan munthirithoppu -Thoovanathumbikal -Guru -Chenkol -Dasaratham -Dhanam etc.. He done natural acting in all films but he is not spantaneus in some charaters that you mentioned like vanaprastham,kamaladham etc As it talks some time to learn apart from that Other films that you mentioned were not method that is mostly spantaneus with different getups some other were normal Mohanlal never imaite mgr it's has spantaneus acting he himself putting in anandan situation Thanmatra not at all method again it's spantaneus Because he believe every human beings will respond and behave different way in both similar and different situations that is true that is also happening in his movies That's why he didn't go to any hospital to research alzehimer patient and Mohanlal never perform with same intensity even in similar situations You will never see crying expressions like kireedam, brammaram, dasharadham,sadayam,janata garage son died scene, villain hospital, bharatham police scene etc in any of his movies He will bring out what charater needs put himself in that charater situations he will change their personality with his minute expressions which will give you multi dimensional charater feelings like kireedam and brammaram climax both are intense tregedy situations but the way they emotes their emotions are completely different both had eccentric but different way That's why every time you will watch Mohanlal movies you will find new hidden expressions nuances that is just amazing And Mohanlal's acting always naturally flow like a beautiful music it happens very naturally it never look like made up Personally I feel a best actor is one who mastered or transcended all the human emotions in most realistic way possible In that case I think Mohanlal is GOAT period Sadly in my view his talent explored only 50%.

But i believe the most natural performance in indian cinema is vasthuhara directed by G Aravindan...after the film release there was somany other language films like marathi bengali hindi films which copied its way of making....!!

Sethupathi,Dhanush, Ranbir kapoor, Ranvir singh, and Nawazudheeen siddiqui. These are the blessed ones and the upcoming gamechangers of indian cinema.. 💪💪but never equal to Our lalettan..
