And they’re mostly Brown Swiss breed dairy cows. We used to have a lot here in the States, but their milk is so rich they aren’t desired here as much with the low fat preferences people have. But they know you have to and will stop for them, so they think nothing of hanging their rears out in the road while they munch on grass. They’re well bred, pretty and friendly, but they don’t care if you’re in a hurry.

You will absolutely love touring with Gary France (Tour1). He is a really interesting British gentleman who has perfected motorcycle touring. He also did a 21,000 mile tour of the United States a few years back and wrote a coffee table book detailing his adventures.

I find it funny that you are talking about gravel on the roads from the rains, and you are both riding without jackets. You know you can buy summer jackets with mostly mesh and still the protection. I know you didn't crash, but if you did, the road would take the skin off your arms.

mentioned their D-Day tour to my wife, she replied "Let's do it".... I thought I wanted a modular but I don't think I want to give up my RF-1400. Light, small, comfortable, good airflow, etc. I think I will likely buy another when this one has aged out.

Back in the 70s I was riding through Oregon wearing just a "brain bucket helmet". I had to yawn and a bee flew right into my mouth and into the back of my through which I then swallowed. I was going pretty fast so pretty sure the bee died as soon as it hit my throat, but the back of of my throat hurt for the longest time after that. Lesson learned 😊😊

i think your issue with the HJC visor could have been corrected. My wife has an HJC modular, and I found when we put the smoked shield on instead of the clear, that it needed to be adjusted at the hinges, to make sure there was a good seal. I suspect that is all it was with yours. As for new modular, i really like my Scorpion EXO-GT930. I've always worn Scorpion i like the features for the money and their antifog is really outstanding. A lighter option I would look at a HJC RPHA 91
@abeastrules4 ай бұрын
Same happened to me when a bee go into my helmet and tried to get into my ear and I was on the highway. I had to open my visor all the way open and cause a draft while pulling the helmet off my face until the wind finally pulled it away from my face and out the helmet. Not a good time. Also the very first time my experience with a bee was with a big bumble bee at 70 mph entered my helmet due to the small opening I had for air, where I saw it coming right for me and it got caught in the draft and came right to the edge of the helmet's visor and exploded as it's body didn't exactly fit. It exploded right into my eye and I had to ride blind for a moment, but kept my composure and got to the side of the road to be able to stop and clean my eyes. Yes I have angels watching over me.

My favorite modular Helmet is the HJC RPHA 90S. It is light weight and actually cooler than the outside ambient temperature. I know that you have had issues in the past with an HJC modular but the RPHA series helmets are higher end and pretty good quality.

I'd be lying if I said I'd tested it in a torrential rain, but I'm really liking my HJC i100. It's a convertible instead of a flip up modular, so when it's warm and I'm on a slower road I can run as a 3/4 helmet, and then lock down the chin bar when I hit the highway or want to block a bit more wind.

Yet for all those CLAMS, I might go for the “Fly The Starfighter” at Cape Canaveral, in the Two seat Lockheed F 104 Starfighter zipping along around 1,200 KTAS and maybe a Zoom climb to 100,000 feet.
