There’s nothing more haunting than being birthed and raised by an absence. Your videos are oddly comforting. They help me self soothe and give me the tools to deal with her by better understanding her modus operandi. Thank you Sam, for providing us with powerful tools to survive xx

Before I discarded the narc partner I told him “you spend entirely too much time scanning for threats that you made me an enemy before you even met me but you’re too cowardly to leave me so you try to soothe yourself by controlling me instead and that’s not okay no matter who you date” he hated that and tried to extract sadistic supply from me since I rejected his proposal they’re such fragile and destructive people.

I was recently discarded by a dear friend, who, in retrospect, has narcissistic characteristics. Videos like this one have made the loss less painful. Thank you.

Interesting story- I had a Narc cousin who married a Narc. They got wise to each other and divorced, thinking they could heal or something. But since narcs never change, they stumbled around, in Narc World, alone and delusional. So they made what seems to have been a strategic decision to re-marry since they didn't want to age alone and nobody else wanted them. It's been about 5 years and I do declare, they seem to be cynically "happy," though I doubt they love each other. So incredibly weird but more power to them.

One of the most disappointing aspects of humanity is the massive amount of delusion from people. We've built a society based around lies.

Brilliant. Thank you. The personal analysis I've done with my narcissist is in total alignment with your words. Sadly, it also confirms that it can never be fixed.

Isn’t it fairly obvious that extreme behaviours are often compensatory and driven by unconscious forces. It is only that the repressed emotions are so impossibly painful that to bring them into consciousness would be seen as destructive to the conscious sense of self.

Narcissist I know thinks they are some type of deity. They have a tiny kingdom where they see themselves as God everyone listens and does what they tell them. They're a nobody that thinks they are all powerful. Detached from them and observed for a while, came to the conclusion they were an overgrown toddler bc when they never got their way they would scream and yell

I’ve lived in it it’s not as bad as it seems because it’s all they can remember, they have nothing to compare it too. It like only ever feeling one temperature, you wouldn’t know if it’s hot or cold without something to compare it too. Only after my healing do I understand what a sad state I was in

Would it be accurate to say that the defenses are there to protect the narcissist from re-experiencing being unseen by the mother, now as an adult? That to experience such a phenomenon in the adult mind on a conscious level (as far as it would be for an adult as opposed to a child, who is less conscious) would be catastrophic? To make the experience of being nothing real to oneself would be like an actual death. So the defenses are there to protect against that/the experience of death?

@annikaspahr9705 Ай бұрын
You are 100% accurate on your assumption. The defenses are there for exactly that and from what I understand it's even beyond catastrophic. It's complete annihilation.

Very sad that there is no pity for the narcissist. It's a very empty existence, now it makes sense as to why i feel so empty and unable to change it. Any solution as to how to step into reality and face that unsurmountable fear?
