It’s true, they always are on the go or need activities to distract them. The one time I arranged a surprise for a narc to go on a private flight on a WWII aircraft and he was anxious because it was a loss of control being on the plane. I don’t remember but I don’t think he even thanked me for the unique opportunity to do this. Another narc ex friend couldn’t stay home on the weekends no matter what or she would lose her mind, she and her husband were always traveling and doing things on the weekends and was an adrenaline junkie. They used to make fun of me for my fear of heights.

I felt it was strange when my ex husband said "you know, I get bored with my friends quickly. I don't want to hang out with X anymore. I decided to hang out with Y now". Like... What? You get bored with people you call your FRIENDS? At that stage, I didn't realize he would eventually get bored with me as well.

It might also be related to their high vigilance, life isn't providing all the troubles and good things they expect!

They create chaos when they are bored and don't give a crap what or who they destroy.

There are lots of great videos about NPD online but yours offer a unique insight and perspective. Deeply perceptive.

Your story about panicking when your narc asked you what you wanted to do really resonated with me. Mine was a long-distance relationship so it was mostly texting, but it got to the point where I would get nauseous every time he contacted me each day because he had such a negative reaction to *anything* I said. I would panic trying to come up with something to say or show him that he would “approve” of. I really love your channel! IMO you explain things in a way that makes way more sense than even the professionals on KZbin.

There are also narcissists who love boredom. They would only sit at home and watch tv. And any walk or beer at pub are painful for them.

Lil' Shamen said for narcissists, its NOT about the journey, but the destination. They don't like the pursuit of aquiring something. They just like having or getting what or who they want. They don't wake up smiling, pray, get coffee and bible, watch the sun come up, all while saying "thank you Father God Almighty. They have an unrealistic expectation that everyone/someone is gonna do everything for them. Provide everything for them. Be a doormat for them. And yeah, they're never fulfilled or satisfied. Its always about the "next thing" coming down the pike for them. There's always a problem to solve. Something to look for. Crazy busy work for their scapegoats to entertain them by watching us exhaust ourselves trying to make em' happy or get their approval. Sorry for rambling. Effects of my narc mother and narc/golden child brother. I like the change in scenery. You have great volume in your videos too. Very helpful when needing therapy to drown out the shouting narc on the next room. When they hear your videos coming outta my phone...oops. Sorry. Rambling again. God bless you and yours.💜🙏☺👍

Also, the part about "they don't want the solutions, they want the drama" explained A LOT to me. I often felt that the more I try to fix this person's issues, the worse it gets. Or the person comes up with newer issues so they never end. The better, the worse. I tried and I tried but this didn't fix anything. It was absurd to me at this level and I was convinced that the person who is making mistakes is ME.

im not sure if this is relevant but my narcissistic adult sibling on his day off at home like to pace back and forth every 20 mins, he will come out of his room and open the fridge , he will play loud music then talk with this friends over the phone loudly, use the washroom and play video games. He cannot afford to sit quiet and be in silence, never self reflect, plays nonchalant in most conversations, but occasionally rage. most of the noise at home comes from him. He does not seem to have consideration for other people needing to sleep at night. its a repeated cycle.

He's always so bored that he sneaks out to use cocaine because I am not a user. He is a senior citizen but can spend his whole pension in 2 days on drugs. He has no idea who he is and drugs for him are one way he can fill that "God Hole" he admits he has. He says he has a sucking hole of boredom and discontentment inside him. I though I could be all he needed to try and get clean, at the very least. Now I am being used, lied to and manipulated...but I can't bring myself to kick a senior citizen and the man I love out on the street in January. I am so torn.
