Why the remake? The original Why Nobody Plays The Egyptian Gods video propelled my channel at a crucial time and I wouldn't be here without it. ...but it's also a video posted by a very different Dzeeff haha It was made by a much smaller Dzeeff channel on a bad microphone in a dorm room and I had a different, more jaded outlook on card discussions. It doesn't even have background music! While I know a lot of people loved it, to me it's pretty difficult to sit through and I've wanted to fix it for years. MANY creators are embarrassed by their most viewed video and I understand that completely I know not everyone will see it is a "necessary" remake but I think the videos are quiet different in structure, delivery, and quality. Enjoy!

I love how most of Ra's support is just a patch to fix what they broke. I'll still never get over how they took a card based on Ra, who dies and resurrects, the Phoenix, which when it dies, it's then reborn again, and a card that Marik exclusively summoned from the Graveyard; and made it so you cannot Special Summon it.

Fun fact: Obelisk was actually playable in Resonators back when they were Meta in Duel Links, since Resonators could summon 3 bodies without using a normal summon and non targetable meatshields were hard to deal with back then.

It was always a fun guessing game in the mirror match. “Are they playing the brick that can beat me or no?” My favorite deck was thunder dragons but they struggled against resonators if you draw poorly. As dumb as it sounds I always loved the high risk high reward style of the deck even when the meta was invested with decks that got a bunch of shit for free.

Divine Beasts should have inherit protection. Even their normal effects got nerfed to the ground, Slifer not even affecting defense position monsters for example.

While I get that keywords are overall bad for card game design there is some aspects of hardwiring mechanics into certain types that Konami already does that could save card space at the very least. Like they could consolidate Tri-Brigade types (which have been common through the game's entire run to have cards that reference Beast, Beast-Warrior and Winged Beasts just they only got a concise nickname with Tri-Brigade) into calling them "Wild Beast Type" monsters and have a rule in the handbook saying, "Wild Beast type includes Beast, Beast-Warrior and Winged Beast Type". Or that silly thing with Illusion type where they ALL are seemingly going to be required to share an effect like they're Spirits or Geminis instead of an actual new type.

Just invent a new Monster Card type called "God Card" or something that has rules that govern how it can be interacted with. Link monsters can't be changed to defense position, so just put the universal God Card mechanics like Spell Speed 4, untargetable, etc in the rulebook.

I think this is the best fix, easily accessible extra deck monster that can search the god cards and/or any card that mention them, plus an effect to summon them ignoring the condition; either from GY, or giving additional normal summon without tribute, again, ignoring the restriction. Because let's admit it, even with all that good stuff, god cards won't become meta anytime soon.

The DIVINE attribute should be treated like keyword abilities from Magic: the Gathering: "Monsters with the DIVINE attribute cannot be Targeted or Destroyed by Card effects. When a DIVINE monster is summoned, cards or effects cannot be activated. A DIVINE monsters summoning cannot be negated." That way, it would save on card text.

Slifer synchro of 1 tuner and 2 non tuner.. Obelisk is zeus style summon on top of xyz with 3 materia (need some addition restrictions after summon).. Ra is a fusion with 3 monster on the field with attack > 3000 (but as we know, burn yourself into 100LP on summon)

One of my favorite things about Yu-Gi-Oh was when someoen did an honest competitive analysis and concluded that if the Egyptian Gods (as in, the 3 cards we have today) were actually released during the DM era, Obelisk would have been meta-defining, Slifer would have been strong but not unbeatable, and The Winged Dragon of Ra would still be terrible.

Perhaps the compromise is to re-train the Egyptian Gods as Pendulum monsters? That way you can maintain their main deck presence like the originals, and give them easier access once summoned initially? Pendulum summoning would also be a nice way to off set Slifer and Obelisk sending themselves to the graveyard after each turn.

Yeah but the problem with that is that if you're retraining the God cards; those retrains aren't God cards. They'd just be game original 3-tribute things that might resemble the God cards. And maybe this isn't true for everyone one; but to me, making the God cards' decks good at the cost of taking out the God cards is too big a compromise. Playing them is the only reason I care about these decks in the first place; not the other way around. And at worst you could end up with something like the Gate Guardian support; which replaced it's namesake with something useful just to expose that the gameplay associated with it is still bad anyway. And as a cherry on top, the deck doesn't even play the legendary Gate Guardian.

The god cards need support that lets you get them out with one card while acuring advantage. Something like their own version of Boss Stage which searches a god card on activation and fills your board with tokens every turn to tribute for them but locks you into only being able to summon divine beast monsters is the kind of power level that you'd need to consider playing them. And even then I think you'd need a lot more support.

Good video. I do want to mention though that Obelisk has gotten some pretty nice cards to support it. They aren't very good for Modern Play, but Fist of Fate, Ruin Breaking God, and Soul Energy Max are still very good cards. Their effects: Fist of Fate This card's activation and effect cannot be negated. If you control a monster whose original name is "Obelisk the Tormentor": Negate the effects of 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls, and if you do, destroy it, and if you do that, for the rest of this turn, the effects of that monster are negated, as well as the activated effects and effects on the field of monsters with the same original name, then, if you activated this card during your Main Phase, you can apply this effect. ● Destroy all Spells and Traps your opponent controls. I did separate decks for each. Slifer and Ra were easy since they have archetypes tailored made for them. Ra support for Ra and Poker Knight for Slifer. Obelisk was the hardest. I ended up going with ABC. With Union hanger I could get the ABC fusion out and during my opponent’s end phase I could tribute it to special the separate ABCs for his summon. I used Union driver and platinum gadget to get them in the field and in the graveyard. Having foolish burial goods to dump Soul Energy Max into the graveyard, made his summoning way easier since I could do it during my opponent’s turn after tributing the fusion.

i definitely agree that these cards should get extra deck retrains. i can see obelisk also getting some representation for his Obelisk The Progenitor form from the spinoff manga where he's equipped with divine evolution. since there's already some decent support for summoning these monsters, it'd be nice if they got a few cards that allowed you to transform their summoned forms into the extra deck retrains by paying some form of cost if they are special summoned, but no cost if normal summoned.

Revived Sky God is absolutely not Card of Sanctity (anime) lmfao. The difference between a Trap and a Spell is gigantic, and Card of Sanctity (anime) doesn't demand you play Slifer. So you can instead just draw 6 generically and kill your opponent.

@@majickman no Im saying a minimum of 1. So its not too much of a free +5. And its possible for some decks to be a a 2 card hand at the end of the turn. So now they're +4 in card advantage. They might of drawn their combo peices they need or their deck thrives on the graveyard. Its do I want to risk it. Hell maybe you discard before your opponent so they have a chance to ash it. But it gets played on the field so imperm would work. And maybe a hard once per turn... or if we do the anime one. Hard once per duel per player. Also maybe make it say theres no way to make it a quickplay just incase.

It should really require 3+ monsters too. Without that restriction I'd argue it's ban worthy for being a way accessible and powerful extra deck staple. You automatically play it because nothing is comparable or better for just 2 monsters.

I was playing the other day (pretty low ladder on Omega but still) and saw a zombie pile synchro deck that brought out slifer on my turn with the effect of zombie world + red eyes zombie dragon lord and honestly it was a cool deck to play against and the slifer destruction effect was a unique interaction to play around

If I were to retrain each god card, I would try something along the lines of… _Obelisk The Destroyer_ (DIVINE) Level 12 Divine-Beast/Effect _This card’s original name becomes “Obelisk The Tormenter” while on the field, in the GY or if banished. Cannot be normal set. (Quick Effect) Must be normal or Special summoned (from your hand or GY) by tributing 3 monsters from your hand or field. This card’s summon cannot be negated. If summoned, Cards and Effects cannot be activated. Neither player can target this card with card effects. (Quick Effect) You can Tribute 2 monsters from your hand or field; destroy all monsters OR Spells/Traps your opponent controls, then increase this card’s ATK/DEF by the total ATK/DEF of the tributes. This card cannot declare an attack the turn this effect is activated. If this card leaves the field: Add 1 DIVINE monster to your hand from your deck._ ATK/5000 DEF/5000

We already have "Obelisk The Progenitor". There is also "Divine Evolution". Personally, i would retrain it into a Fusion Monster just like the Gate Guardian Support + Charles link 1. Obelisk The Progenitor Level 10, 4000/4000, DIVINE, Divine-Beast Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) during a Duel you Summoned "Obelisk the Tormentor", by banishing 1 card whose original name is "Obelisk the Tormentor" from your field and/or GY. This card's Special Summon cannot be negated. If Special Summoned this way, cards and effects cannot be activated, also this card's name becomes that banished monster's name, and replace this effect with that banished monster's original effects. This card's activation and effects cannot be negated. (1) Unaffected by card effects, except your cards that mention Divine-Beasts. (2) (Quick Effect): You can send 1 Spell/Trap card that mentions this card's name from your hand or Deck to the GY; add 1 card with the same name as the sent card to your hand, OR this effect becomes that card's effect when that card is activated. I believe the text can become shorter, but if you notice it's carefully worded so that you need to summon the originals, but even if you cheat these cards out they won't gain the bonus effect. They float to the original gods so that you include them in the deck, but instead of their own copy you can shift between an aggressive Obelisk and a control-ish Slifer. Ra is a case on his own because he already has the Sphere-Ra-Phoenix loop.

I wanna mention that I sorta successfully used Obelisk in a chaos frog monarch deck back in 2012 in local tournament play. Inzektor’s didn’t have an out to it so it wasn’t a bad card to use. That being said, it wasn’t LEGITIMATELY a great deck. But it was a fair rogue strategy for the time. As you mentioned, a 3 tribute monster is still tough to consistently play… even in a frog deck

@@Blitzeyou Exactly the kinda deck I used. Treeborn, Battle Fader, easily searched light and dark monsters with BLS and chaos sorcerer. I could fairly consistently summon Obelisk. Wind-ups were a tough match up but Inzektor players hated me lol. Again, DEFINITELY rogue and heavily dependent on my sides, but still a relatively successful competitive use of a god card lol

I found some success with both obelisk and slifer in monarchs when they got their starter deck support. but this was at the local level. Basically you use the dark and light squires with the trap card. and this lets you keep your hand size around 3+ cards because of Monarchs ability to search for resources.

What the deck really needs are: •Normal Summons that summon fodder that also give an extra normal summon. •Something that searches any of them out, not just their own named mini archtype support. •Something that searches out their cards that list their names. I was thinking since we got Ra’s disciple; why not make a slifer and Obelisk disciple that are always treated as ra’s disciple so they can all summon each other. They could each be one of the above categories. Then if any of them are sent to gy; shuffle back all 3 disciples and add 1 to hand. Then each turn, the gods have a set up.

Ways to tribute enemy monsters is probably peak. People already run Sphere Mode to do this, just giving them a way to tribute using 1 or even 2 enemy monsters in addition to some of yours. Since we're flinging out disciples, maybe that's the ability of Disciple of Obelisk. Something like "If this is the only monster you control, and your opponent controls two or more monsters, you may tribute summon a Divine monster using this monster and two monsters an opponent controls" Maybe "The summoned monster cannot attack the turn you use this effect." if it needs a leash. Make some other card, a continuous spell or something with an effect reading "If you Normal Summon a Disciple (or something to single them out), you may make an additional normal summon of a Divine monster" so an Obelisk Disciple isn't just a super Gamaciel. And I dunno, maybe Slifer's Disciple effect is just draw 2 when tributed to summon a Divine monster. Make summoning Slifer off of only them a +2, which he kinda really really needs, and is a nice thing for the others.

Create a continious/field spell that does something explosive when a tribute 3 effect occurs that allows you draw 2 cards to offset the cost of tributing to allow you to keep engine. It would also give monsters summoned this way to become unaffected by card effects. But long story short, outside of the bricking problem, reward the actual tribute effect. Or create monsters that do additional things when they are tribute material to god cards

The Aesir monsters were intended to be Synchro god cards, though the printed version did not include the DIVINE attribute that they had in 5Ds. As it stands, they are so low impact that even support allowing literally any Nordic Monster to end on an Aesir was not enough to make them meta relevant (even if a few nordic cards were played as an engine in other decks. Maybe the Egyptian Gods getting their own Gullveig is an idea?

I think what they really need is just a set up monster that passes their "heirarchy" from the show/manga to them again. AKA immune to effects of all non-divine cards and for modern times make it so they cannot be tributed either. And make it also lock you into only playing divine beasts this turn "You cannot special summon this card if you have special summoned this turn" and make it a 5 star with a summoning condition. and just for kicks give it god specific effects when tributed. Ra, set base atk/def to 4000, slifer, draw till you have 4, and give something else to obelisk (cant think of anything, but this sets all gods to 4k when summoned).

And not to mention the original release of the Egyptian God Card's. They were originally meant to be collectibles only. This Card Cannot Be Used In A Duel. So effects had to be figured out for them later on and so have suffered. I still have a non-playable Slifer The Sky Dragon card. When I got the card it wasn't in the best condition but I kept the card cause back then one didn't come across an Egyptian God card all that often and even less often have a chance to own one without paying an arm and a leg. Remember to keep in mind that this was back before any playable version's were released.

You could run Slifer in a Domain Monarchs deck with fiends. It would be a hard board to get out, but if you got Domain and March of the Monarchs out it would give Slifer the protection that is needed. Then if you got Majesty and Mystery Fiends out you would lock the board. No special summons, no monster effects, none of your monsters can be targeted by card effects. If you opponent trys to out the fiends by normal summoning something with over 2400 atk, Slifer's effect come in and drops it by 2000. I'm not certain if there's many cards that can be normal summoned with 4400 or more atk.

In a majority of situations, they still wouldn't be worth the investment in an environment where zero commitment options like Accesscode exist. Dont need to build your deck around it, doesn't strictly require your normal summon or being in your hand, can remove things just about as well, and can just beat over Obelisk. Those kinds of outs are pretty ubiquitous and noncommittal, while also being just... A more consistent alternative. It would be an upgrade, but not enough

What I’d love to see: Extra Deck forms of the monsters. Obelisk the Tormentor: Link Monster requiring exactly 3 Monsters and is a Link 5-6. It is immune to targeted effects and effect destruction. Treated as “Obelisk the Tormentor” while on the field or in the grave. It can tribute any 2 monsters it points to to destroy the opponent’s monster zones or board, but can’t attack; instead it deals damage equal to the attack or any opponent’s monsters tributed this way. If special summoned except from the Extra Deck, it returns to the grave during the end step. Slifer the Sky Dragon: Synchro Monster requiring exactly 3 Tuners and no non-Tuners. Treated as “Slifer the Sky Dragon” while on the field or in the grave. Unaffected by non-targeting effects. Keeps all other Slifer abilities. So, little bit of a fun story, I recently played against one of my friends who was running an Egyptian God deck (or maybe it was just a Slifer deck) and he had Slifer on the field, I was playing Witchcrafters. He had Slifer up to 10,000 ATK and went for the kill when I flipped Magic Cylinder on him. So basically how it was supposed to work in the anime, having a Magic Cylinder and needing a Spellcaster monster to activate it. Only difference was it wasn't DMG.

If they had the support they had now back when they were first released they would have been great heck probably up until synchros they'd dominate and even the early synchros would struggle. Removal protection and otk capabilities in one deck was rare particularly the protection part and the removal that swerves all forms of protection assuming you can special summon

Obelisk was released in 2010, we were already in the heart of the synchro era when we got our first egyptian god card. The Ra support is decent but Ra himself is also the weakest ironically, it's like they tried to make them as weak as possible on top of a really hard summon condition, we were already not tributing 2 monsters for cards, why would we suddenly tribute 3 for something that gets snuffed by a dark hole or a mirror force

Egyptian God Slime basically nullifies the tribute costs if ran with metal reflect slime/reactor slime/guardian slime. Been using a Ra/Slifer deck in Master Duel and it's a fun deck, even if it is a bit glass cannon depending on draws.

I've been playing Yu-Gi-Oh since before the game was released in the US and I recently got back into playing again and realized that the Egyptian god structure decks with some adjustment flows really well in my old school chaos deck. Tribute three monsters helps bring out my chaos monsters because in my experience people are apprehensive about attacking monsters if they know they're up against a chaos deck so being able to tribute three allows me to bring out slifer or obelisk to bring out black luster envoy and others. I'm going to test it in a local next week and see how it measures up. Bare in mind I'll be omitting the use of a extra deck

I feel that the Gods could also benefit from some Monstersupport. Like, Konami, give each of them a Trio of Priestesses, (we need those Waifus in every Archetype after all) who summon their Conventsisters from Hands and Decks, and also posess each an unique Effect that is tailor made to support "their" God. For Ra, maybe some LP boost, to make the Normal Summon Effect more threatening, for Slifer/Osiris some extra drawing. Not sure what kind of effect would benefit Obelisk most, but i am sure someone reading this Comment could tell me. And if all of these hypothetical Priestess Cards share an effect that helps with a Bricked Hand, for Times when we have drawn a second, or even third Godcard, that would be truly perfect.

The wicked gods need support cards and errata buffs. make all 3 wickeds special summon by tributint any generic card on the field (like kaijus) like make Eraser gain 1000 for yout opponents field and hand so it can be op, then it banishes stuff when goes in the grave or banished. Dreadroot have its halve effect but also target and destruction protection Avatar have it be like king calamity and lock your opponent out if action for 1 turn, and keep its atk def alteration and have it be unaffected by opponents card effects. At last give them a 4th combined member called wicked creator with infinite attack and def but no battle damage. every either player end phase put 1 divine counter and if ya got 10 counters you auto win (cut final countdown in half)

Konami came out with Face Card support to help Slifer and it includes a card that restricts you to only summoning Light Warriors from the Extra Deck. Konami then proceeded to _never_ come out with a new Light Warrior Extra Deck monster, including the set with the support itself, except that one Vsauce Synchro and some HERO Fusions. It's very clear that Konami couldn't care less about giving the Gods the help they need and it's sad.

To be honest, this remake felt nostalgic to the point i paused it, watched the old one, then watched this one. I get you don't "like" the quality of the old one as a content creator, but still it's a nice piece of YGO history. About the Gods. I consider the Gate Guardian support incredible for what it did to an outdated anime deck. And this could work with Egyptian Gods as well. The new Infernoble Link 1 is one of my favorite card designs ever because it isn't a cheap "fix every problem" link 1 like Striker Dragon/Bale/Infant (don't get me wrong, they were needed) but instead, it builds a true "boss" monsters through layers. Ideally, the god cards should be retrained as Extra Deck Monsters (Fusions, but each one getting a different version would be funny) that inherit the name/effect and build upon them, like Charles. We already have "Obelisk the Progenitor" in manga, and "Divive Evolution" in TCG/OCG. A simple change to the "evolved Slifer" like forcing every monster to Attack Position would boost the original's destruction effect (2nd mouth attack). They can even throw "The Wicked" series there since they are the DARK DIVINE counterparts.

This cards' summon and effects cannot be negated. Unaffected by by all other cards' effects except monsters whos original attribute is Divine. Cannot be tributed nor used as Link, Xyz, Synchro, or Fusion material. When your opponent enters the Battle Phase, it becomes the End Phase. During the End Phase shuffle all cards banished and in the GYs into the deck.

Imagine having a normal summon for the egyptian god that dumps divine beast and add a card that mention "divine-beast" or a divine-beast monster's name. That would be so cool to have in the deck, it is exaxtly what it misses. Dump slifer, add revived sky god, dump ra, add ancient chant, dump obelisk, add soul energymax/ruin god. Lets call it "divine disciple" or something. It could also have less than 1000 atk to link it into almiraj for a spicy protection and have a banish effect from gy to either add a divine beast from deck to hand or dump a divine card from deck to gy (the opposite of normal summon).

Ra is the phoenix sun god maybe give it an effect that allows it to recycle itself from the grave. Obelisk is a war god so maybe give it an effect that allows it to special summon tokens to the field and tribute them to activate special effects. Slifer is osiris, the god of the underworld. Maybe give it an effect that's activatable in the graveyard or even being banished.

I play blue eyes at my local and I add obelisk for a fun little combo where I use vision with eyes of blue reveal a blue eyes then special summon obelisk then if I have skill drain activate it (if it's not already active) then I keep obelisk on the field at the end step since his effect got negated by skill drain. Basically a way to cheese out and keep a 4k beat stick

The biggest flaw of the Egyptian Gods however has to be that even if you manage to summon one of them and successfully use it to destroy your opponent's Blue-Eyes monster, they can just activate Deep-Eyes White Dragon's Effect to Special Summon it and inflict 600 points of damage to you for every different dragon in their GY

honestly Link monsters are the perfect thing konami could use to do full retrains of all the classic fan favorite cards that people like because they grew up watching the anime but that are terrible because they only work when you have plot armor. The fact that so many of them just struggled from being main deck monsters with not great effects and rough sacrifice requirements, links are basically ust like the modern tribute summon not quite like the XYZ or synchro aesthetic. The link 3 Black Luster Soldier is a perfect example, relatively easy requirements, just 3 monsters with different names, a few options for effects that are helpful enough on the board but not quite strong enough to be a solo boss monster, and a conditional protection from targeting and effect destruction if one of the materials was a level 8 monster, harkening back to it's original status as a level 8 ritual monster who needs 8 stars sacrificed. It's generic enough it could be splashed into anything, and strong enough to consider in many decks, but not strong enough to force it's way into every deck that doesn't have some kind of mesh with it, like ones that don't use lvl 8 or higher monsters. Instead we prettymuch always get a few mediocre support cards to help turbo out cards that just aren't very good, it doesn't matter how many blue eyes you can get on the field with a good hand if half your hands are gonna open with 2 copies as bricks and when you get them out it takes so many cards that you can't afford to be interrupted once and then they have no protection afterwards. Just make a link 3 "Blue-Eyes Ancient Dragon" and give it like, once per turn burst stream of destruction effect, protection from monster effects, and idk let it special summon "with eyes of blue" retrains focused on link support and then instantly link summon using itself and them for an ultimate dragon retrain if burst stream destroys 3 or more opponents monsters. Think about the potential of a Link Red-Eyes archetype that throws out several situational but self comboing into eachother monsters that are link retrains of the old red-eyes fusions, similar to the current fallen of albaz fusions. There's no reason we can't have like, link 5 or 6 (3+ X archetype monsters) god card retrains with fitting levels of power for what they were originally meant to feel like, and maybe even have the link 3 stepping stones be the GX false god cards, that would be cool as hell.

I've made decks based purely around obelisk with all its support and slifer mixing it with monarchs and both of them have maybe around a 40% win rate at their best. Fun cards to play but the base cards themselves are so hard to work around and a retrain of them is 100% needed to give them even a fraction of what's shown in the anime

(Please note the following isn't a Meta deck I mostly just play them casually against my friends and not meant for competitive yugioh.) I occasionally play them but my deck isn't quite up to par. Mainly because I don't have any Egyptian God Slimes. Got plenty of Metal Reflect slimes and Reactor Slimes but no "E.G.S". In my general opinion Egyptian God Slimes can usually make or break your God decks if your able to get one as soon as you possibly can while you have Mound of the Bound creator on the field. As if u recall correctly it can protect level 9 (or higher) monsters you control from most card effects.and gives you A free God if Mound gets blown up. Also handy if you have multiple in your hand as you nuke 1 get a free God then play the card again to protect your gods (or just your level 9-10's in general.) But generally Egyptian God Slimes are very consistent to get out as you can sometimes if lucky get more then 1 in your following turns for as long as they keep making you get more tokens from Reactor slime as you get 2 per pop which almost ways results in either a God or E.G.S. But depending on how you play your cards. (Pun not intended) you can make E.G.S your main beat stick on your side of the field while Mound of the Bound creator is active. And if you combine mound with other equip cards and protect cards for E.G.S you can dish out Alot of damage with little to no retaliation depending on the deck your facing. Especially if you equipped Mage power to him as he should get I think 1500 attack totalling him up to 4500 ATK if I am not mistaken. It's been quite a while since I played yugioh so if not most of my knowledge on the subject could be a little off. But play around with them in your deck on master duel and see how they work in some of your games, they can be pretty fun to play,.

This video is arguably the best remake in the history of remakes. Also I like the idea of having the Egyptian gods redone as like link 4 monsters Ra’s attack gain effect as an extra deck monster would see play as like an accesscode talker style of finisher… slifer would be good removal and Oblesk would be Zeus 2.0

If we're talking about these God expies as Link monsters, would Link 5s make more sense? Link Ratings seem to value at a 2:1 ratio to levels, i.e. a Link-3 is about equivalent to a level 5 or 6 & a Link-4 is like a level 7 or 8. So if you wanted to make something like the Gods in the link mechanic, that'd probably be something like a Link-5 with "3+ monsters" as material. That's what I'd expect anyway.

@Dzeeff 1. I think a good way to be better in modern day yugioh to to give them modern boss monster affects. 2. Make the Egyptian gods, secret beast cards, wicked avatar gods and the nordic god cards to make them more usable as one god/divine beast arc type could be way better as it have to be the same way as the big ass hero arc type I feel like if Konami did that way with those 2 ideas I feel like would be way better and more ideal to have them be more a viable deck in general and could do better in the meta as whole would be way better for the gods overall.

Slifer, appropriately, does well in Dark Magician decks. It is fairly easy to get enough Monsters on the field, The True Name is actually consistent thanks to cards like Soul Servant, Dark Magical Circle, and Illusion of Chaos, plus, the deck can draw cards very well thanks to Soul Servant and The Dark Magicians.

I have an obelisk in my light and dark which plays around with having cards in my graveyard removing them from play and bringing them back. As long as I have monsters in the graveyard I can special summon use them as tribute and rinse. Once he’s out, I’ll summon one of my three “ the calculator” and bam two monsters with high attack. (Old school deck tho)

Ahh, I must say that when I played obelisk in 2010, I use to use a RFP dd monarch deck that worked and kept reusing obelisks effect.
