We need this rail road. From Rossignol to GT. Commercial traffic should use a different route .

Why stop at Enmore? Go all the way to Rosignal. You are now making sense about bringing back the railroad to Guyana, but we need it running on the whole East Coast, West Coast and etc.

We need a Georgetown metro system and a long distance train system just like you have MTA trains, Metro North and LIRR and Amtrak. Each line serves a different route.

I can walk from one end of Georgetown to another under 20 minutes and I do, and most people can do it too, if they stop being lazy. People need the exercise in Guyana where high blood pressure and high blood sugar is a serious and major problem. It is a crisis. We need to walk more for health reasons instead of jumping on minibuses or even mass transit when navigating Georgetown.

@@josephwinslow7613 Stop talking nonsense. I run the length and width of Georgetown almost every day. Georgetown now extends from Ogle on the east coast of Demerara to Agricola or as far as Providence if you are considering population density. It would take several hours to walk from Ogle to Providence. I know this because I do it regularly as part of my morning exercise.

@@RaphaelNationYou are one that loves talking nonsense and always comparing what going on in Guyana with other foreign countries and cities like New York City and etc. when there are no comparison for obvious reasons. Common sense is not common when it comes to people like you. Talk about building a railroad in an area of less than 150,000 people. How smart is that? Thank God that nobody is listening to you and nobody will do any of nonsensical things that you are suggesting.

@ as I always say if you do not understand the discussion then you should ask questions. You are wrong and the comparison being irrelevant. This could be because you are unable to think critically. In that case I will not hold it against you.

I totally agree. It eases traffic. Also why not bring back the train to Resignil and a light rail on the east bank to the airport

Great idea but tunnels are not needed. Trains can run on elevated rails right above the roadways. These electric trains are so quiet you do not know they are passing right over your head.

I enjoy your video and you speak truth of what is and what could be. Those walkways on those new roads looks dangerous for pedestrians and pedal cyclists, their are no lane for the pedal cyclist or perhaps they are sharing the same lane with pedestrians. That crazy, upgrading the road ways but yet its not upto standards for safety of other road users.

Seeing these poorly designed roads, not taking onto consideration pedestrians and pedal cyclist i am highly disappointed by my government and the relevant authorities responsible. So sad,given that better could be done,yet we are given low standard projects which are not safe for us.

You keep pipe dreaming. It’s costing $2b to build the gas plant. How long will it take to build the train system and at what cost? Look at Vietnam and I think currently Toronto. Hugh cost overruns. It will take Guyana 2 decades just to get that kind of money from oil. I know you are making money doing utube videos but why try to make money being deceitful? I am still waiting for your answer on my tunnel question. Or have you suddenly developed ‘tunnel’ vision?
@RaphaelNation

The metro train network can be built in 2 years. If the government hadn’t cancelled the plans for the train to Timehri which was to be built in the center of Heroes Highway it would have been completed by now. The government has already received $6 billion USD from oil profits and royalties.

What are you talking about. I just checked the NRF withdrawal. Only 30% of oil money is used so far. And if the train was in place where would you have gotten the electricity to run it or are you suggesting it run on gas? I am saying trains are not a good thing but it’s just not feasible right now. I am still waiting on the answer to my tunnel question.

@ Guyana received 6 billion USD from oil profits and royalties. The fund has less than 3 billion USD. Plus we are still waiting for the September report from bank of Guyana. Today is December 19. The government has spent more than half of the funds because they changed the laws to increase the withdrawal rate.

@ trains save lives and are a solution to the road congestion and reckless accidents that kill innocent commuters and pedestrians. What is your question about tunnels. A tunnel under the Demerara River from Georgetown to Vree den hoop will allow trains to cross the river connecting the east cost with the west coast and West Bank. This is the same as the tunnels under the Hudson River that connect train service in New York and New Jersey.

You build a road people drive on it and ‘story done’. You build a railroad, you lay train tracks, purchase (import) rail cars .. train people (even if driven by remote control) build train stops, hook up the overhead links for electricity, devise a fare system or is it going to be free ? The challenges are enormous and is GPL up for the challenge … nope. Look at the current situation … response time for a breakdown …. 2 to 3 days … and now one more ship arriving to help out … a model of inefficiency. Do you know what is Guyana’s greatest challenge … maintenance. Unlike roads the cost of maintaining such a system is tremendous. I have lived in North America for over 45 years in a city with both light rail and Metro Rail and the challenges of building and maintaining such a system are enormous. I rode the trains when I lived in British Guiana and it was a model of efficiency .. today is different. Try getting service in 15 minutes in a restaurant here even though you made a reservation. You would be lucky if you can catch the attention of your server … unless she is NOT a local. Guyanese are in a rush, it’s a different time and nobody has time to wait at least 5 years for a system that they will not use … maybe you know something I do not know. They just ain’t ready … my 2 cents.
