Love seeing Belle with y'all in Florida! I always enjoyed spending time with my grandparents who lived in Illinois, happy memories! And now I am a grandma enjoying our local grandchildren!! Wet Ingredients 1 cup vegetable oil 2 Tbsp Walnut Oil 3 Eggs Dry Ingredients 2 cups Flour 1 3/4 cups Sugar 1 tsp Baking Soda 1/2 Tsp Kosher Salt 1 tsp Cinnamon Add: 5 peeled and diced Granny Smith apples 1/2 cup walnuts 12 oz Chocolate chips mix wet and dry ingredients, add chocolate chips & walnuts, then diced apples and pour into greased 9x13 pan. Bake for 45min @350°

Just a suggestion…I was taught that sugar is considered a wet ingredient also. Maybe because it melts? But, I now always combine it with the eggs, oil and any other wet ingredients.

I have made a similar cake but no chocolate I put in soaked sultanas in it and it came out caramel kind off like a light fruit cake great with a cup of tea...your parents would love it but I wouldn't put the nuts in it unless you shaved them big time...
