He could have been immortal if he had learned what Darths Bane and Sidious learned how to do. Transference. Im not sure if his Vader suit would have prevented him from performing it though. And pretty sure Sidious transfered to cloned bodies of himself anytime anyone thought they had killed him. Sidious might be immortal.
