For anyone who came up with that crazy theory that Sidious wanted Anakin to maimed just to put him in cheap armor is just ridiculous. Sidious told Grandmaster Yoda during their duel that “Darth Vader” will be more powerful than either one of us! Guess that theory came from people who hated the prequels. 🧐

I always figured Palpatine planned to eventually use essence transfer to take over Anakin's body whenever Anakin tried to kill him. Same as he tried later on with Rey (and with his clones in the Legends comics). He wants a younger, stronger body powerful enough to actually host him. Once Vader got crippled, that plan was pretty much ruined, but he kept Vader around anyway because was useful. When Luke showed up he pretty much tried the same thing again.

This also makes so much sense as to why he was so pissed about what happened on mustafar because he had the perfect plan to basically become immortal and Anakin went and f&$ked it all up to the point that it set him back DECADES and he was forced into no other option then to try things Plagues’s way which was through cloning and whatnot he hated this because his knowledge was very limited and it was as we saw a shot in the dark at best. Basically Anakin had ruined any chance he had of becoming immortal until Kylo showed up

I think it's kinda "meh" the way they originally designed Vader to be as badass of an enemy as you could imagine and now all we talk about is how weak and disabled he was, and how his very "badass appearance" only means he's on life support. But I guess this is how fictional lore works :(

I've always thought if it in two ways: one, Anakin would be palpatines essence transfer, vitiate for example. The second is that he planned to train anakin to be the most powerful sith and force user ever, like a mark of pride. I feel as if Palps really did see Anakin as his kin or possibly the only person he cared about.

I love revenge of the sith ! but Anakin’s turn felt a bit rushed and its kinda of a bummer that he didnt have a lot of ‘’VaderBeforeSuit’’ moments before mustafar battle. And the fact that Sidious just basically told Anakin to go murder all jedi temple by himself is a bit insane

What palatines original plans probably were was similar to what he tried to do with Rey and kylo and smoke which is some variation of force essence transfer as well as passive force drain without Anakin fully noticing until he became powerful enough to just straight up either take his body or drain him of all his power he very well knew that he couldn’t leave Anakin alive as his apprentice it would only be a matter of time before he swiftly killed him

Yes Palpatine was pissed that vader lost to obi wan . Thats why the suit was so out dated and to give him lots of pain to keep reminding him of his loss. The truth is Palpatine gained everything wile vader lost everything. Anakin was always the slave through out his life

And knowing this, can understand his feelings when Anakin eventually took out on Palpatine the accumulated anger at him for years when he sent Sidious to the reactor. Especially which his sense of relief when Skywalker's tormentor turned into fog and the nightmare ended.
