I lost 150 pounds doing this and 5 years later I’m still lean. I can cut bulk and then cut weight pretty much at will now and have forgotten what it’s like to struggle dieting. I have an active job and workout so I tend to eat over 3,000 calories in a sitting. It makes dinner very enjoyable and you don’t have to worry about indulging a bit. More people who want to lose weight should try it. A little discipline now and you can go wild for one meal. Better than 3 meals that you’re not that crazy about. Good advice for sure

Amazing bro, that’s exactly the key everyone’s missing to weight loss, just eat less fatty food with low cals but that will still fill you up, the whole thing of hunger is just your stomach not haven’t anything to digest and feed on, eating something as simple as a banana will hold you off for a few hours, ALSO try fruit until noon, only eat fruit until noon essentially is what it is.

I do OMAD often. Going on 6 years now. It helps me control my weight because with three meals I would overeat. It’s also convenient because I only have to prepare one meal and my stomach doesn’t dictate when I need to eat: I decide when to eat. It also keeps my blood sugar levels low throughout the whole day. I started with intermittent fasting and breakfast was the first to go. I was surprised how easy breakfast was to skip. But what is also surprising and even frustrating are people’s reaction when I tell them I do OMA! “Are you OK? Aren’t you sick?” (Do I look ¥ucking sick to you?!)

I totally disagreed with intermittent fasting and Keto eating. To me, such a regimen was utter foolishness. I was brainwashed on vegan and vegetarian meals with only two or three small portions of meat a week. Nevertheless, I was chronically over weight, 248 lbs. at 5’5”, 65 years old, with high blood pressure, pre-diabetic, frequent horrible gout attacks, lethargic, depressed, essentially teetering on full-blown metabolic syndrome, etc. Then a good friend educated me. Still full of doubts, I wanted scientific arguments to convince me, so I read books, watched hours of reliable MDs promote intermittent fasting and keto meals. I figured out of last-chance desperation, I’ll try it. Nothing else was working. The results were startling the first week! In less than a month I lost several pounds, was never hungry during fasts, no more gout, slept better, everyone complimented my obvious weigh loss and improved health. I am now fasting OMAD, one healthy, keto meal daily, with NO dense carbs, no processed foods, no sugar, diet soda or artificial sweeteners, no vegetables oils, etc. I eat a well-prepared very healthy meal every day at 1:00 pm, with lots of fresh vegetables, healthy fats, meat, and fruit, no junk food, and I drink seltzer water or herbal teas during the other 23 hrs, with one or two cups of coffee. I’m angry that I never tried this years ago. When I reach my goal at 160 lbs, I’ll have just two meals a day most days to not loose too much weight, other days I’ll fast. I am so satisfied with the ease, the extra time I have, the less expensive this is, etc. I would do nothing to change it. Unlike some who may have difficulties in the beginning, I never had a problem, it was just simple, easy to implement and scientifically sound.

Great stuff , awesome results Nico , for me I got to cut the carbs out , bread , soda , junk , and I’ll be back on track , omad works I did it a year ago then slipped back into bad habits , this time I’m drinking a lot more water and cutting out excessive amounts of coffee as well , I feel much better drinking water and not eating much , it makes you wander why do we do what we do putting all the junk in our mouths , we know it’s not right but we still do it , hopefully I can kick these unhealthy habits, I was thin when I was young and I was active drank loads of water and ate fruits vegetables meats etc at dinner time , now older unhealthy fat and feel like crap all because of bad diet and I think we all know this is why we gained weight , time to get back to my younger self and live better and healthier .

It’s called “INTERMITTENT FASTING”!It’s amazing, because it allows your body to go into a state called AUTOPHAGY. Autophagy is when your body goes into a state of “house cleaning” mode and HEALS itself by killing off bad, unhealthy cells! You have more energy, you think more clearly, and any weight you lose does NOT leave loose skin! RESEARCH IT. . . It’s real and it is life altering! Transition into it slowly, then it becomes a lifestyle! NO BLOATING, NO MORE SKIN ISSUES (I dealt with psoriasis and eczema), and I feel better than I have in years! If I decide I want to eat more meals or snack I CAN! I intermittent fast at least 3-4 days a week and take off weekends sometimes. Try it! It can alter your health remarkably!

Thank you. I've tried before. I'm vegan. Start low like 12hrs if you’re used to snacking. Then 14, 16 etc. Then once you do 16 regularly, maybe for a week or two, 17-20 hrs becomes pretty easy. Then it’s a small push to OMAD. If you do it gradually like this, it’s really not too hard. Cleaning up your diet, and removing sugar and decreasing carbs definitely helps too.

*IANAMD; Well, I am not your MD, most likely* *Lol so please also touch base with your provider.* So a couple of things I’d suggest: A. I’d had have acute GERD, due to not having enough gastric acid producing, I believe. Peristalsis was not ready for the large intake of food, I’d consume when breaking my intermittent fasting. Anecdotally, I’ve noted that drinking about 5-7 oz of *hot water* with *natural acidic component* (mostly either or combo of organic ACV/lemon juice/honey) and *ginger* (sometimes even turmeric and black pepper extract) about 5 to 10 minutes before eating a heavy meal, has been a game changer! B. Also know the way you eat food and its order. When I eat, fiber, protein, fats complex to simple carbs I feel that my insulin doesn’t spike as much and I feel less sluggish after eating. C. Lastly, I avoid chugging heavy amounts of water while eating. But I do drink a lot of water 30 minutes before eating and 30 minutes to 45 minutes after. Again, don’t know what ones’ experience would be. I would say, always check with dedicated providers and specialties for more personal care for the individual, but these have helped me personally! 😊

Yogi culture does too but their approach is to wait 8 hours from meal to another but while that is mor dogmatic of the culture or school of thinking it only induces a little kind of autophagy window through day which is good but isnt energy-management wise as fasting approach with shorter eating windows and larger fasting windows, still 2 or 1 meals a day is superior to the conventional eat all day (snacking) or eat 3 to 6 times a day as most cultures have been oriented through the years, its almost impossible to change their minds when even the public health system says to them its fine.
