Learning how badass Qui-Gon really was, helps me to appreciate just how lethal of an assassin Darth Maul must've really been, and how amazing of a duelist Obiwan was.
@Ceracio5 жыл бұрын
This. I think people underestimate Darth Maul alot because he was beaten by an apprentice and because in Rebels he's an absolute dweeb. The apprentice who beat him was Obi-Wan, who basically orchestrated or directly defeated 3 powerful Sith and one OP 4-armed Kaleesh General. In Rebels almost everyone is a dweeb. I think the Clone Wars representation of Darth Maul is the most striking, a powerful assassin, strong enough to hold his own against Darth Sidious, probably the most powerful character in the Star Wars universe since Revan and Vitiate, strong enough to absolutely destroy a Mandalorian warchief who held his own against Jedi Masters and strong enough to give Jedi Masters a severe beating himself, despite being weakened by his prosthetics. If Maul had been guided by a proper master of the Dark Side after being defeated by Obi-Wan on Naboo, he probably could have become powerful enough to stand up to Vader, after Order 66.

@Saliem025 жыл бұрын
Szadek29 I still believe that the reason he lost to Obi Wan wasn’t because he was unskilled, he had just killed a Jedi Master, it wasn’t because Obi Wan was better, he was still in training, I think it was because of 2 things, Obi Wan was angry after Qui Gon’s death and so he used that in the fight, and the second reason was because Maul was arrogant after he had just killed a Jedi Master, instead of playing with him and sending sparks down he should have used the force to push him off the thing he was holding onto and Obi Wan would have fallen.

I suspect that Qui-Gon Jinn was killed at a time when he was more vulnerable than he had been before or would be again. He was getting on in age and as such was losing a certain amount of physical prowess. At the same time, logically, his studies into the force were becoming quite advanced (evidenced by his force ghost). Had he been allowed to live on, study and further develop his force skills then he could have become far more dangerous, along the lines of Yoda in terms of force power.
@DaleESkywalker5 жыл бұрын
Qui Gon finding Anakin was no accident. It was the will of the Force. Together, they would have been unstoppable. Qui Gon has gained the wisdom of Yoda and context of the prophecies and would've likely maintained Anakin's place - the humility of being the Chosen One.

which would've been against the will of the force, "balance in the force" requires a blanace of light and dark, neither side fully ruling, thats what eventually happens( as luke isn't actually a jedi) at the end of the 6 movies(im only counting the 6 movies here, cause i havent seen anything else"new things movies dont count")

Anakin was the chosen one to bring balance on the force. Throughout all moves, light and dark went back and forth, with dark being a bit stronger. Anakin made a "pendulum" fast shift and gave light the heads up for a moment. That would be the case with other terms anyway. My theory is one that George Lucas personally hated and went out of his way to try and debunk but I still think holds true as long as you ignore the extended universe and only take what's on-screen as canon. Anakin Skywalker is the Chosen One. The chosen one is supposed to bring "Balance" to the force. This, of course, implies that the force is out of balance. There are thousands of Jedi in episode 1 in a galaxy-spanning organization. There is, however, only 2 Sith. A Master, and an Apprentice. This seems pretty dang far out of balance to me. Cut to episode 4. There are now 2 surviving Jedi. Obi Wan Kenobi, and Yoda. There are also two Sith. a Master and an Apprentice... Seems to me, Vader did bring balance to the force... But that wasn't what the Jedi expected now, was it?

@LadyDoomsinger5 жыл бұрын
That was always my impression as well - balance implies an equilibrium, not a victory. But let's also not forget, that Anakin does in fact destroy the Empire in the end, effectively being the end of *BOTH* the Jedi Order *and* the Galactic Empire/Sith. In short, he brings balance to the force by exterminating almost every force user, leaving only Luke, a moderate Jedi.

I think the biggest reason Sidious fear Qui-Gon is that Qui-Gon would have helped Anakin with his feelings, where as everyone else told him that he must ignore the feelings. Thus, Anakin would have been much harder to manipulate. Sidious needed Anakin to fear these feelings and thus not know how to control them. If Qui-Gon had taught Anakin to live with his feelings and have control over theme, Sidious would have been powerless as Sidious wouldn't have been the one Anakin entrusted help with these feeling to Sidious. Sidious would not have known of the emotional turmoil Anakin was facing and therefore could not use Anakin's emotions. At least, This is what I believe George Lucas was hinting at.

If Qui-Gon had survived, I think the whole continuum would have been about how he and Anakin challenged the Jedi Council and their ways. Ultimately leading a separate group of neither Jedi nor Sith. As such the Jedi Order would have probably been too occupied with this conflict to notice Palpatine's plans in time anyway. But the separate group now led by the Chosen one would be there to defeat the sith after the Jedi were purged. Potentially finishing Palpatine once Yoda lost to him in the Galactic Senate Building. At this point order 66 would have been carried out a bit sooner. Maybe because Anakin and Qui-Gon warned Yoda and Windu about Palpatine, who then panicked. Would have avoided the whole Death Star thingy though. And maybe Dooku could have been saved.

your full of it for 1. Qui-gon would have never left the order to start his own order. and if he did that order wouldn't take another name. they would still be called jedi. the jedi are not as bad as people think. moreover Yoda wouldn't have lost to Palpatine. in fact he didn't lose to palpatine. the DVD commentary from George is clear that Yoda was the better of the two and only fled because he could sense the stormtroopers coming to back up Palpatine which would have shifted the battle in Palpatine's favor

Another example of how the sith --in their anger-- sowed the seeds of their own destruction: killing Qui Gon was the means by which the Jedi learned to commune in the force after death, and perfect it to becoming force ghosts which steered the entire story toward the Sith's defeat.

i like this idea ... .what if the good in Anakin won out ... the problem I always had with ROTS is that it felt like too rushed of a faill

Xmetal If the movie was done today it probably would've been a 2 part movie and would've been amazing. To me ROTS is fantastic but they really didn't have the time to do all that, would've been awesome if they did though.

I feel like qui-gon would walk in one day and go "da fuq there's a sith right there." Then the council would look around like "huh??" While Palpatine is in his black robe snickering.

I like to think his death was the will of the Force, it gives validity to why Kriea hated the Force even more and would prove her point.

Since qui gon knew about the "cleansing" of the Jedi part of the prophecy Would he of let order 66 happen if he was still alive?
@mexcore145 жыл бұрын
The force was leaving the jedi slowly. It probably got muted enough to the point that they didn't sense the danger until it was too late. Qui Gon was a true servant of the force and if the force willed it I feel he wouldn't fight it.
@FrankMontes245 жыл бұрын
Doubt it. He would need to let the prophecy fulfill itself as it is going to happen. Remember Yoda said that fear of loss is a path to the dark side. The Jedi feared they would lose their control and eventually they ended up turning on each other too which led to Sidious easily breaking their will and having them all killed.

I think if he was still alive order 66 would have failed because he would of been a better mentor to anakin than Obi wan was. Order 66's key was the fall of anakin to Vader and the two powers teaming up against the Jedi. Qui-Gon had an immense understanding of the force and I believe if he trained anakin to suppress his feelings better than Obi-wan did he would not of fallen to the dark side and sideous would of been killed by mace windu instead of anakin stepping in. Anakin saw palpatine as a father figure. If Qui-Gon was the father figure after surviving the fight with Darth maul I think anakin would of stayed with the light side of the force.

@@jimdavies9354 I dont think qui gon would have taught anakin to surpress feelings, but rather acknowledge them and learn to live with them which would lead to anakin being less impulsive and easily manipulated by palpatine
@jimdavies93545 жыл бұрын
@@Johnnybravo40 That's a good assumption mate. Obi-wan was too young to train anakin as a Jedi. Qui Gon wasn't as... Naive? I don't know if that is the word for it but you know what I mean?
