That's a good roster, but I think the NBA players who made the three-year commitment will get first consideration and Wiggins might be the only player who didn’t make the commitment who will be in Paris. I also think a couple of European-based players who played in the World Cup will make the team. My roster would be Wiggins, Alexander-Walker, Barrett, Brooks, Dort, Gilgeous-Alexander, Murray, Olynyk, Powell, Joseph, Kyle Alexander and Melvin Ejim.

@@kenmacleod7225 yeah the ones who committed but I think Wiggins, Murray, Nembhard, Mathurin and Lyles will be added which means some of the bench guys in this years Fiba might not be on the team if Canada can win a Gold in Paris they have to go all in its one In a life time for Team Canada to win a Gold. It's not secret that FIBA is not a priority of Team USA, the Olympics is. Yes they might win the gold in Paris, but then they will send role players and young stars again for FIBA which doesn't end well. They'll just repeat the cycle over and over.

Even their olympic dominance is under threat. The , 2019 world cup and 2020 olympics were proof that their younger superstars cannot handle FIBA basketball well, Tatum, Brown, Mitchell, and Booker are the top american young stars they have below 30, and they will not sure beat other european powerhouses in the future. In 2019 they placed 7th , in 2020 they barely made the finals and won the gold because of KD's heroics. Once the older top american players retire, then there is no reason for Europe to fear them anymore.

Tatum hit a big three point shot that basically sealed the gold medal. He played well in the Olympics and was injured in 2019 when they lost

@@Griemmythis is a dumb comment lmao go look up the teenage tournaments for Fiba like the U19 and U17 and others America absolutely decimated everyone bud lol. The youngest best talents still belongs to the states, only several young Europeans that are great rn don’t mean anything. They have to retire to at some point you know… Only reason that Europe will continue to beat USA in third rate tournaments is because 1. We don’t care about international play like Europeans do and put all their focus on it literally preparing for Fiba and Olympics a long time before in advance and to try to beat the US, and 2. Most Europeans play together for years on the Fiba team just look at Luka he was literally playing for Slovenia since like 16 they have crazy chemistry together and all of them in Europe always play Fiba rules. meanwhile USA just throws a random team together that has no chemistry or experience playing Fiba rules they’re too stuck in their ways of the NBA rules.

Stop with the commercial break, lady. This is not the deepest competition at all, because in Olympics, only 16 teams participate and quality is not only criteria to be there. World Cup, if Giannis, Jokic & Micic, French players who signed in Russia and were banned from national team (Huertel), Porzingis, Timma for Latvia, Ben Simmons and some real centers for Australia were playing, that would be way more deeper competition than OG 2024. Especially because in the round of 16 there is no clear outsiders

I think that's his initial plan, and for me it's better for him to play for France for his legacy. If he plays for France and they beat team USa and win gold, it will be more important than him being in team USA and just beating everybody up. Glory is in the struggle of the underdog. Also, he has a lot more cultural connection to france as he was from cameroon.

Yup, sending older superstars is the solution. But how about the next olympics and world cup? Lebron, steph, KD, chris paul, even PG and Kawhi will be gone or will surely not gonna play in that. The younger american superstars are in trouble. In terms of talent and system, the europeans will eventually level the field. The young stars today will be the main guys in the future. The young stars of europe are already the main guys of their national teams, there is no reason for them to fear team USA after the 2024 olympics.
