I love this concept. It reminds me of one of my all time favorite poems . (Sorry for the length, but so worth reading)Midnight Poem by Khalil Gibran "Do not love half lovers Do not entertain half friends Do not indulge in works of the half talented Do not live half a life and do not die a half death If you choose silence, then be silent When you speak, do so until you are finished Do not silence yourself to say something And do not speak to be silent If you accept, then express it bluntly Do not mask it If you refuse then be clear about it for an ambiguous refusal is but a weak acceptance Do not accept half a solution Do not believe half truths Do not dream half a dream Do not fantasize about half hopes Half a drink will not quench your thirst Half a meal will not satiate your hunger Half the way will get you no where Half an idea will bear you no results Your other half is not the one you love It is you in another time yet in the same space It is you when you are not Half a life is a life you didn't live, A word you have not said A smile you postponed A love you have not had A friendship you did not know To reach and not arrive Work and not work Attend only to be absent What makes you a stranger to them closest to you and they strangers to you The half is a mere moment of inability but you are able for you are not half a being You are a whole that exists to live a life not half a life"---Gibran Khalil Gibran

I am also "much". I am intense in my energy and a deep lover. It is amazing and we are NOT at fault. In fact, the opposite: We are blessed with that. Darling, I've combed through your videos and you are so lovely and so dateable, and no, I'm not just saying that to be diplomatic and make you feel better. You're handsome and effervescent and very much a catch, and most importantly, you take care of yourself and watch videos like this. That certainly indicates an evolved mindset that many people our age aren't on right now. As easy as it may be to shower the words down upon another, it makes me realize I need to say the same to myself! I'm very much of the lack mentality when it comes to love, and I am vexed by the sensation of somehow being burdensome and unwanted. We should work on that, haha. - Sending love!

Susan's advice to play full out is the critical for your success in attracting a quality man. I always assume that the woman is playing full out. The worst thing you could do is hold back on the qualities that I would be attracted to. You short change yourself. By holding back, you may only attract men with low standards, qualities and requirements. I cannot distinguish between someone who is holding back and that is all they have to give. I will always assume the latter and it will end before I have seen the real you; the you that would have right for me.

This was the most empowering and freeing advice I have ever heard out of all the (male) KZbin dating coaches I watched so far. I'm super grateful. I have been feeling so stunted in my situationships because I hold back from being who I usually am romantically. I'm pretty much good girlfriend material, but I've always been told to not give what I don't get. And it suckssss because I enjoy being super sweet and affectionate. But this advice makes me think, I should flaunt who I am and let the guys enjoy it. If they're worthy, they can have more of me! If not, bye. Thanks Susan, this video made me subscribe!

What a wonderful word to hear. Some of us are so concerned about avoiding trauma bonds and codependence that we also avoid our desires and emotions. I am not ashamed of what I am looking for. I am not ashamed of being open. I guess I will continue risking the pain in order to put out that consistent signal. The right someone is going to really like it.

Hi Susan, love to see you in a different setting, it looks magical! As for your advise of going full out, i cannot agree more. Yes it is scary and yes you might feel that you might be taken advantage of, but the only reward you take is knowing that you gave it your best. I don't really know how to do little by little, i am either me 100% or it will feel fake. So i decide to give it my all all the time, that way i have absolutely no regrets. The only person losing is the one who didn't see you for who you are. There's nothing more rewarding than spreading the only thing worth fighting for in this life...LOVE! Hugs to you, Susan!

You’re wonderful, Susan! This has been a difficult and exciting time for me because I’ve got someone who might be the one, just needed another date! I didn’t want to put all my cards on the table on the first date, so I stayed reserved, because I wanted to leave a sense of mystery to unfold. Made some minor mistakes after the first date which ‘may’ have raised some red flags for her, she pulled back, then came a spiritual awakening so to speak, my flaws became clear, and have since been enlightened. Love is overflowing. I’ve got the right questions now, and then... quarantine. I’m in a state of purgatory lost in thought about it every day, morning to night. Now I’m cautiously reaching out to a ghost who cant return a phone call or a simple text. I can’t tell if she is even there to graciously receive me and my full potential, or how to deliver it. So, I remain silent. Walking away doesn’t feel right, going full out doesn’t feel right, and pushing it further doesn’t feel right. It’s so damn difficult to go full out right now and unleash my heart without pushing it any further, I feel bound. I want this person in my life as a friend, a lover, or as their good shepherd. I’m dying to have a real heart to heart about how much the experience has influenced my spirit and I thank God for the connection and she should know. She’ll also probably think I’m nuts, because so much remains uncertain and likely hasn’t seen the light. However, I’m under the impression that this powerful and mystical connection is only one sided. I’m humbled. Any thoughts, please?

As ever, wonderful advice. It touches , too, on how the people we tend to enjoy and love to be around are the ones who just do what they do- the big hearted and generous who just let you in very comfortably, because they are comfortable with themselves. As friends and partners, that's a great way of being and a great thing to get comfortable with, and yes, it's so different from conventional wisdom that tells one to hold back in reserve and basically not treat this new person in your life as if you enjoy them being there. Hope your travels are amazing! So beautiful , you make Lake Como even more stunning!

Thank you Susan for this video. It has come at the perfect time in my life! Recently I started pulling back after I got some disappointing news from a love interest(20 years younger) for whom I was going all out being myself with then I finally learned(or heard) our age gap is a problem for him. Although he's been acting contrary. I didn't know how to react since our foundation is a good friendship. Pardon me for going on and on, I started to become more irritable due to the pulling back. And now realize I've been acting against my true self when I am around him. Which is affecting my interactions with this new guy I've met recently. More importantly, after seeing this video it reinforces my gut feeling to go back to being my true self. In other words, don't recoil but instead show up fully as my best self always and perhaps limit time spent with the younger man.

Thats wonderful advice. I always wondered anout that. I use to do that and stopped because I didn't want to seem doing or being a little more in a non committal relationship though I knew I had good qualities as an individual and when I stopped I felt I had lost myself for a while just to be caught up in the fake dating world. Now after listening to this I need to regain my true self and highest good. Thank you, Susan as always your a real brillant human Therapist.

This was my first video of you I saw last year! And I loved the way you think and give the picture! Since then I'm sure I saw almost all your videos, just mature and wise! When I listen to you I feel normal, I can't play games, we are inside so fragile, I know the pain, maybe one day I find a intelligent man that see me without the need of play the usual dating games...

Thank you so much Susan! I really needed to hear, that its okay to be yourself!! I'm generous kind funny and most of the time I tend to show my vulnerable side!!! in the past I've been told showing vulnerability scares men away and that you have to be withdrawn and closed to attract a man!!! I'm taking your advice and be myself from now on!!! Thanks!!

Thank you for another great topic and I agree with you 100%. I laughed about the breakfast part because if a lady stays at my place I get up, get the coffee on the burner, and cook her breakfast. I have always done this because I love doing it and if it freaks them out well I get to learn she is probably not for me. Hope you are having a wonderful vacation. Take care and have a great day.

I always bring my "A game." Usually, the women think I'm playing them or too good to be true. Which is kind of sad. After a tough heartbreak (because it seemed she was on the same page), a preacher friend said something similar to what you say, Susan: "Look, she just wasn't ready for you." That advice helped ease my mind and stop over-analyzing.

Comes to think about, it is very true. All of us during first 3 months on our best behavior with the whole bunch of extras towards the one we've fell, because critical thinking is sometimes completely disabled and we (or other party, or both) start doing crazy things that we would not do normally. As a result we either get tired or keeping the theatrics going or getting scared from "too much", or other person is being through same feelings and things fall apart :)
