Why R2 D2 Never Told Luke that Darth Vader is Anakin Skywalker

Boo to YT :( Thank you for your perseverance! I have loved R2-D2 since 1977. His expressive little noises were all we needed to know how he was feeling. I felt genuine concern for him (the first time I saw the movie in theater) when R2 was hiding from the sand people. R2's hushed noises while Luke was lying on the ground. I hoped he and Luke would be okay. I also loved how, upon seeing R2 hiding, Obi-Wan spoke politely to R2. R2-D2 is the best droid in SW, IMHO.

"Have the protocol droid's mind wiped" Bail was so smart in doing this but not to R2, he perhaps knew that C3PO could easily end up getting lost and/or stolen and serving a new master to whom he would have "spilled the beans" because, he'd have to, that's his protocol. R2 still protected certain info from people until it was delivered to who it was meant for (but make no mistake I still love 3PO) Just like all the characters in Rogue One, Bail was around just long enough to fulfill his very last crucial purpose

Yup, heck, if we're getting real, R2 even has all those Republic strategies the Anakin argued was a reason to retrieve R2 during the clone wars. The droid really does know TOO much. It is curious Bail didn't have R2 wiped. I wonder what his line of thought was? I mean yea he can recognize R2 is a bad ass, but it's still risky to not wipe him, however he may have counted on using R2 exactly as Leia did, to get ahold of certain people or information.

@ yeah I forget there was a point where it was extremely vital to get him back during the Clone Wars because of everything he knew about the Republic’s “strategic infrastructure” if you will lol.

He didnt know. At end of episode 3 he and c3po had their memories erased how ever did this video doesn't know Star Wars

Nah watch the scene, he says "have the protocal droids mind wiped". Which we dnk how well that even holds, it's possible R2 restores 3po's memories each time. But R2's never been wiped.
