Cheers Jordan. Iv been putting allot of this stuff into practice recently and yesterday i finally looked around at where i was in life and realised that iv been in a relationship for 3 years, bought a house, got a new job (at parliament house), taken up some martial arts and i read more. kinda a big shift when to think 3 years ago i was playing video games all day living rent free at my relatives..... and i got it ALL without paying you a cent. thank you, i might actually sign up now.

Pride is the bane of healthy communication. Relationships are easy, if both parts swallow their goddamn pride. I'm post three marriages, all of them ended amicably. No fuss, no drama, just the realization paths happen to diverge. They could've forced me to follow their paths, or I could've convinced them to follow mine, but we all know, that would end in catastrophe. Most relationships, especially marriages, ends in separation anyway. We only got one life, the comfort of being in the comfort zone of relationship is simply not worth it. Carlton is pointing at his head here, be smart boys. One life, but many, many possibilities for relationships and marriages within a life. Risk vs. reward, after all.

Being autistic in a relationship these days is tough; I try to compromise with my partner, as compromise is important and why relationships used to last a lifetime, but these days no one wants to - it’s what they want or nothing - and sadly there are some things I can’t compromise on, like eating certain foods or listening to certain sounds

Same thing applies to the relationship between parent and child. Spend time getting to know your kids. Read to your kids. Converse with your kids. Play with your kids. My relationship with the present moment is listening to Jordan And now missing The Ex. I want to remain missing The Ex. He's not welcome back. Breathing is good AND so is dropping your shoulders. When angry, scream "bubbles" in a terrifying manner. Betcha cant

Twelve years with my wife, 18 years old to us both being 30 now.. I found that if I took even ten minutes relating to things my wife likes, even if I am not interested in it then go about asking questions and putting my phone down has gone so far for us. Time spent together too, ensure you do things just together and it doesn't even have to cost much.

The reason I believe relationships fail so often especially recently is because people put pressure on themselves to have this perfect relationship and not to be lonely and people just don’t work on themselves which we all should do

I think relationships are so much different now (yeah, newsflash I know) but like think about it. In our parents and grandparents generation, you'd leave home at 7am and not have any contact til like 6pm. These days you can talk to someone 24/7 and it creates a lot more of a different situation where you need to be on all the time. You also have less to talk about since you're just always in touch

I highly recommend you read this book, ‘The 7 rules of making marriage work’ by John Gottman. It’s based on years of longitudinal data on thousands of couples, and it closely mirrors what you’re saying in this video, except it adds in some extra stuff about the specific ways to respond to what they label ‘bids’ for attention 😊

it's because of the mixed bag of worldviews that don't elevate these things and maybe more: their state of thinking, their 2nd guessing towards their own thoughts, and self awareness (the last two are kind of the same). christianity is superior on this regard. the first worlders of this generation easily orbit around what gives them temporary worldly pleasures instead of something/someone infinite. a few can get out of it without god but they cannot justify why their way of living is superior without god as a reference point.
