I live in maine, and i've seen that lotus once. He's not lying about there being no exotic cars here, i've seen 2 lotus's, a bunch of Porsche's and my first tesla literally just yesterday, and that's it. There isn't really a car culture here besides your occasional riced honda, subaru, or muscle car, but jacked up trucks are everywhere.

Love the stories Doug. I had a similar story buying a broken E46 M3 from SC. My brother-in-law being a BMW mechanic from Atlanta fixed the easy issue that other mechanics couldnt figure out. Sold it to me (Cincinnati, OH) and i drove it 9 months then sold it for profit. I buy my cars from the south due to rust issues here in Ohio

This is easier to do when you have dealer plates because you don't have to register each vehicle. A normal person would have to technically register the car in their name & pay sales tax on it to be able to resell the car, and that sales tax alone could be as high as $10k turbo s, which would obviously ruin any profits you would be making. Or you can title hop but that can fuck you over sometimes.

Here in Minnesota we get alot of Arizona cars for sale but the problem with that is that we have a tinting law where as Arizona doesn't. So basically these people are selling the car basically knowing its illegal to drive in Minnesota but people don't think about that because an Arizona car will have no rust and will sell at a premium despite the legality of it. Though not all are like that but most are it seems.
