Taxing agriculture is necessary for a country like India yet it is complicated because of many reasons. Unfortunately, because of the emotions involved, taking any decision like this is equal to political suicide. Taxing agricultural income needs political will and that is sorely missing in a country like India.

मैं एक किसान हु और मेरे गांव में एक बीघा जमीन से केवल साल भर में 20000 कमाई होती है वो भी हर साल नहीं ।अगर किसान अपने मेहनत का पैसा जोड़ ले तो उसको खेती करने में उसके घर से ही पैसे लगते है।कभी कभी जुताई बीज बुवाई के भी पैसे नही मिलते।अगस्त से लेकर मार्च तक एक रुपया नही मिलता किसानों को ये मेरे गांव की तथा अगल बगल की परिस्थिति है। हम यूपी से है । और जितना टैक्स एक कमाने वाला देता है उतना हम भी देते है ।सभी बाजार से खरीदे हुवे सामानों पर।

एक सीधी बात, अगर किसान की खेती की इनकम पे टैक्स लगा तो किसान अनाज और सब्जी को और महंगा बेचेगा टैक्स को रिकवर करने के लिए या फिर खेती छोड़ नोकरी करेगा। इस दोनो केस में अनाज के दाम बढ़ जायेंगे और गरीब लोग भूखे मर जायेंगे। 80 करोड़ जनता को 5 किलो मुफ्त राशन वाली सहाय सरकार को और महंगी पड़ेगी जिसके लिए हमें और ज्यादा टैक्स चुकाना पड़ेगा। कोई भी सरकार ये नहीं करना चाहेगी।

One year they may earn substantially and in another year the crops may fail due to drought or any other reason which generates loss. After toiling the whole day in 45° everyday their income is less than a civil servant. Think logically before you make a statement. It's a pipe dream for now. Some of the remote villages don't even have electricity and smart phones, so asking them to transact online for everything is impossible. Even in tier 1 cities, there are people in the slums, or grocery sellers or domestic helpers who have dont have smart phones to support UPI or the knowledge of how to use UPI system Even Modi wants India to be a fully digital economy, but it cannot happen overnight. It needs heavy investment in terms of opening thousands of bank branches and providing electricity, internet and smart phones to villages. We are slowly moving towards a digital economy though, thanks to UPI
