Didn't Rosita learn all her skills from men she dated? She said she got better than them at some things. She wasn't an official mechanic or in the military. Unless I missed it, that was never even stated. When she was shot, it was acknowledged. She wanted Michonne to stay home and heal as well but she refused. So Rosita went with her. It's absurd that she would have escaped unharmed that horde she fell in and I think everyone agrees. I'm glad it wasn't the case.

Never underestimate a short person in a fight. Its a good way to end up ended. You know who died first on all medieval battlefields? The tall people went first as they stuck out and were targeted. While I agree that the specific character mentioned would probably lose most fights due to her speed and musculature - that isnt the case for all people.

Yeah, short guy vs tall guy isn't always the best example but in the case of Hart vs Harding, it's obvious who comes out of that fight with a win. lol It's a tall muscular athlete vs essentially an average Joe. That being said, some of the strongest guys I've scrapped with over the years were a lot shorter, their body mass feels more compacted, and they had speed that I could not match. But I'm also not a 7-foot monster like Beta. lol (edit to clarify, I guess his actor is 6'4 but Beta is 7 foot in the comics. Still a giant tho) Rosita vs Beta is almost entirely different because it's not just the size, it's their genders as well. lol She would be very easy to ragdoll around, even for most skinny men. It might be a little more believable if she was a pro MMA fighter, but we know she wasn't. lol

In the comic that horde killing scene takes place in the prison gymnasium, he literally has nowhere to go in there and yet he somehow comes out unscathed. His survival was far more realistic in the show than it was in the comic but both were still very unrealistic

Actually I looked up the actress height and she was listed at 5ft7 so she's only an inch shorter than me. Of crouse i'm much shorter then Beta myself. Think the actor 6ft6. Also Rosita did have a sword so it would make the size different between her and Beta less revelent. If she she's able to stab one of his vital organs then she basically would have won the fight. Also had better reflexes then him which isn't surprising since reflexes tend to suck at beta size plus she's younger so that part actually realistic. His armor is what really saved him which made the strength matter more because he was able to not get hurt by the sword. I don't think less of her for losing that fight sense he's way bigger and stronger then most men on the show if not all of them. Like you said he threw Darly around like a ragdoll. I think Rosita was more skilled then Darly. She probably was trained in the milltary or even before. I think Daryl was probably one of those people that didn't really get training but learned how to fight from experience.

I think they should have shown her more hand to hand combat against women rather than men and and be the group’s de facto mini assassin that relies on close combat stealth against men. That way they could still realistically show she can “kick ass”. I also think the biggest problem for me is the wasted potential of Rosita and therefore the plot armor is unwarranted given her lack of importance in the show. So, when they show her kicking ass it’s like “ok, but why should I give af about you?” I like Rosita’s character but she’s just “there” at the same time. She doesn’t ever have any meaningful arcs or interactions with the main main cast like Rick, Daryl, Maggie (post-season 7, who became more important because Glenn died), or even Carl.

Early Negan was written well bc it was more psychological than physical aptitude that propelled Negan. Daryl was an outdoorsman that was abused for years by his brother and father. Makes sense he'd be a tough cookie and likely have plenty of fighting experience. Rick was damn cop. It's a tv show based on a comic, obviously there's going to be realistic flaws when it comes to main characters. Comic books are about as fiction as fiction gets after all. BUT a 105 lbs woman casually throwing 10 walkers aside, from her back, with a baby strapped to her. Yeah that's just stupid, lazy writing.

I'm 5'4", 118lbs and my husband is 6'3" around 280lbs. When watching we thought it was a similar size difference (alittle different ofcourse). I feel like hand to hand obviously if I got a punch to the face by someone that size it would be a critical BUT smaller people can generally move faster. I wouldn't say it's unrealistic for her to win if both characters have weapons. But if it was hand to hand it would be a different story if she came out on top.

I feel like a lot of the more “main” characters have way heavier plot armor. Women in fiction typically get the “why is she so good at everything?” angle and it’s tired. Many men in the show are amazing, well rounded, jack-of-all-trade types and Rosita should be recognized for being amongst them, not questioned. False. Rosita's backstory is explained by herself to Sasha when they are staking out the Sanctuary. She had MANY boyfriends who specialized in different things. Each one assumed she was just a dumb girl but she watched them and eventually got better than her partner. Hence why she knows so much about knots, hotwiring cars, explosives, guns, fighting etc.

4:05 Negan didn't kill Rosita because he believes that when someone does something wrong, that person should be punished by killing someone else in front of them. I mean, isn't it obvious? It happened before with Daryl when he punched Negan and ended up causing Glenn's death. And in the lineup scene when Negan wanted to kill one person in that to make everyone pay for what they did to his men. I feel like the hate towards Rosita is a bit much; there are characters who did worse things, and yet no one talks about them. Eugene got kidnapped when Negan found out that Rosita wasn’t involved. Yeah, she pulled the trigger, but Eugene is the one who made the bullet. So why take a beautiful woman who he can’t do anything with her instead of grabbing the bullet maker? Plus, it would make sure no one from Alexandria would think about doing what Rosita did again.

And the only reason you have for that is that she's a short woman. @@Nighted-mb2my Glenn fell with a dead guy on top of him and used the time he had from the walkers focusing on eating that body to crawl under the dumpster, most of the horde was then pulled away by Rick firing his AK47 at the last few wolves that attacked him but while that was happening Glenn killed a few walkers that were surrounding the dumpster which masked his scent and made the rest of the walkers lose interest. Rosita should’ve absolutely been devoured

Not feeling this.... the reasons why she is "unrealistic" is not good. What you should focus on is the lack of muscle mass on Rosita. Having served in the Marine Corps for 16 yrs an infantryman I met a lot of non-infantryman who were bad MFers, as well as a lot of women who could kick ass & take names. Yes, I tend to agree that she has a lot of plot armor & sometimes it's a bit much. One last thing, Rosita apparently is a chubby chaser, she likes fat guys, not to mention that the pickings are slim during an apocalypse.

Been a long time, but iirc wlk dead was one of those shows that just pretended sxul dimorphism wasn't a real thing, and that women could hang w/men in hand to hnd. Realistically no woman has a chance against a man in hand to hand fighting (yes there are VERY rare cases, but they aren't worth mentioning), but in the fantasy equality of the show that situation wasnt all that egregious... which is probly why I stopped watching TWD years and years ago.

I would argue her consequences for attempting to shoot Negan was she outed Eugene and ended up getting him taken away. She still has hella plot armor but that one seems to be more explainable in show than others.

You wanna talk about BS in the Walking Dead, talk about Judith Grimes at ten years old using Rick's .44 magnum and popping head shots like a trick shooter and having zero recoil on the weapon. It looks RIDICULOUS when you see her holster the firearm and it goes down her entire leg to like her calf area. Nevermind that she somehow found a random mini-katana and uses it to kill adult walkers so easily you wonder how anybody ever died to these things. Her entire inclusion just ruins any immersion the show might've had. At least when Carl was a boy his signature weapon was a regular pistol. Still kinda unrealistic how professional he became in a single winter, but it makes more sense than a small child using a gun that's bigger than her entire head.
