I just wanted to put in the comment that Kibaki and his administration succeeded on the goodwill of Kenyans and the support of the general CSOs. The example of Free Education was a culmination of many efforts that Kibaki put into motion, and Kenyans reaped the fruits!

There is a country known as Benin. In the 90s, the citizens of Benin decided to do away with the semi-literate dictator Marxist called Matthew Keroukou and brought an IMF insider economist known as Dr. Nicephore Soglo. Soglo, well groomed, souborne and Harvard educated eloquent in 4 international languages rode on the outrage and discontent of the Beninoise with Keroukou. He was voted overwhelmingly. His election was a breath of fresh air, but after a couple of years the population was so disillusioned with his government that they decided to bring Keroukou back. Leadership is more than intellectual posturing.

The problem of Kenya is also the huge overhead- We need to redifine how much a goverment should cost. The salary of president should be reduced to 200K / the Mps to 100/ MCA to 50 K- Reduce their numbers- We should reduce the senators and Mps. and Cabinet to maximum 10 . Get lean leadership and radically remove the extra for committee. If they can't work they should leave. Be like Burki nafaso- Traore has a very lean goverment.

The biggest problem was the de industrialization policy that the government adopted from 2004 during kibakis time and exacerbated during jubilee government. We were to bypass the industrial phase straight to the knowledge economy and adopt sustainable green policies and receive carbon credits especially for NRT. It was a 20 year policy disaster
