I agree with your prognosis, but I'd like to suggest, that often women take breakups more personally and need to proclaim their defense as to why the relationship didn't work out. It's something she should do with her mother or other female confidants, but not to her future husband. 2 different ex's 2 different women: 1) Ex-Husband was physically abusive to her for 20 years she saw threats that were in her own head. As a result kept comparing me to him and saying I was abusive because I wanted more of her time. 2) Husband was SA to her two kids, and he died at some point, but EVERY conversation she brings him up. At my age, I get that everyone has baggage. Even I do, problem is they never did anything to address the baggage on their part.
