Just maybe something you guys didn’t know or think about. like the fact that there is a dark side ability called force sphere that could possibly block magnetos attacks or that the metals in Anakin Lightsaber, or his suit are even magnetic material at all. It wouldn’t make sense for them for the Jedi to make suits and light sabers from magnetic material because then any magnet could pick up their lightsaber or any electronic thing they’re wearing, especially in the case of going to battle when you don’t know what could happen. Theoretically yes he could. That's not the issue. The issue is how their powers scale. Simply put Magneto's feats are a longer list and higher levels. This comes from the original medium. Comics generally out-scale movies in power levels. It also comes from the amount of material for the characters. Magneto just has had more written for him.

Their most powerful force user Palpatine would absolutely get ragdolled by someone like Jean Grey, Charles or Emma frost. They are on a whole new level. Yeah, sorry I don't buy into that one. Sure, he choked an officer in Empire Strikes back from another system but he was also in visual contact with the man through the view screen and most likely knew where the ship was and was able to focus his efforts. There has to be a limit to that power otherwise Vader would just be able to hang out in a lounge chair somewhere and imagine Mon Mothma and choke her out. Then the same with Admiral Ackbar and just work his way through the entire rebellion.

He can't. Vader's force is almost equivalent to Telekinesis and Telepathy. Jean Grey who is atleast a universal level Telekinesis user has had hard Times facing magneto when he is at his best and Vader ain't no universal level threat. Even if he is, his universe is similar to our universe which is way smaller than a Marvel universe. Magneto is on a tier Vader strives to reach but can never reach it. He is just too weak. Magneto will just fold him like an omelette that he is.

Not only Magneto it's capable of crushing Vader's lightsaber, but as he controls all electromagnetism, he can control the output of the lightsaber if you consider it a laser, even, if it was plasma, that its a element (normally a gas at room temperature) so hot that it's electrons go crazy, if he stabilizes that, he can conver a lightsaber either a flashlight, or a very compact leaf blower

Magneto is limited to magnetism. Vader is not. Vader can use the force ability Tutaminis. This can counter many energy manipulation attacks. Including things on the electromagnetic spectrum like lightning. Vader can absorb, deflect, and counter whatever Magneto can do. The force gives Vader an edge with precognition. He can predict and pre-counter Mags attacks. Vader can move with super human speed with the force. Faster than Magneto can think. The force gives Vader a form of telepathy. Granted, Magneto has a strong mind and the helmet, but it could enough to make Magneto hesitate for the split second giving Vader an opening. The force can control the very essence of life and reality. Vader can Force choke Magneto from another star system.

Magneto Fought Phoenix and phoenix gives Vader a run for his money in power terms. Marvel mid-high tier characters stomps most of the Star Wars legends roster (Not the highest force users) Even if Vader Force control is more versatile, its not enough in terms of raw power. Magneto have more insane feats far away than vader's. As Vader tries his best with all his will and strength, Magneto is just chilling and watching effortlessly keeping him down. I'll buy your argument if the opponent is Sidious, nihilus or similars. But not for vader. Precog abilities are very limited as magneto has his helmet, making vader unable to read his moves. Not telling Vader will be blitzed or anything like that. Just not precog speed-cheating on this fight Vader is not the most powerful force user. He's more a jack-of-all trades and overall complete warrior. Physically strong and fast, Deadly Lightsaber skills, and some force powers to complement skills and amplify stats. As Magneto chops his most skilled weapon and shred his body through his cyborg implants there's nothing to complement or amplify for Vader. Just 1/3 remaining of him vs a 100% Magneto that just warming-up. Also magneto can fly and stand on space vacuum. Able to control not just metal and mollecules but energy as well. He keeps himself alive after getting his heart ripped out by controlling his bloodstream. I think its not even close.

But as with everyone that has said Magneto would win easily, you have no idea how the force works or how powerful vader actually is. Vader could pop Magnetos heart from across the galaxy. Magneto flies away? He's choking while having a heart attack. He keeps himself alive with no heart? How about without any blood in his body? And Vader didn't die to lightning attacks: he suffocated because he refused to use the force to keep himself alive.

Just things as keeping himself alive on Mustafar by hatred and aftermatch (Not during Obi-wan's fight) but nothing comparable to knowing which parts and elements of his body are failing and controlling and keeping it working consciously and effortlessly during a fight as Magneto. Vader needs more effort to keep himself alive during a fight as his life supports fails. Has no chance by choosing fighting or keeping himself alive. Meanwhile magneto could do both by far. Vader is a better physical fighter: Stronger, Faster movement and better skills in lightsaber, weapons and vehicles, relying more on direct confrontation and Melee. But Magneto exceeds him in mindset, experience, intelligence, foes, Awareness and battlefield control, energy dominion. He doesn't need to get in vader's favorite field and keeps himself on his terrain (Energy and refined control) Electricity and EM attacks are a clear weakness to Vader. Not much on himself but his armor's systems are pretty vulnerable to it (Intentionally by sidious using CIS era droid-tech) And breaking his life supports is leaving his with less focus on force attacks and counters as he needs to concentrate in order to keep himself alive. Being a Cyborg against Magneto is a big debuff here. Not talking on Magneto running away, dude. I mean he can stand in space vacuum (Efforlessly) as the planet is crumbling. Vader can't breathe by himself even in a normal atmosphere. Force choking him is a pretty stupid idea.

That helmet only blocks telepaths, not telekinesis, so that plays no part in helping Magento win this fight. Vader's telekinesis is no different than Magento's control over magnesium, its just one controls magnetic fields and the other control pretty much anything. The only way Magento comes out of this alive, is if he completely rips the suit off of Vader pretty much right away. Yes, the light sabor is made of metal, but we just don't know if Magento's control over metal is more powerful than Vader's control using the force, they both are extremely powerful. If Magento does not get Vader out of that suit then he loses 10 of 10 times for the simple fact that Vader is absolutely Omega level as well

I agree with this video, for the most part. I think you could have gone even further with Magneto, as it's the fundamental of even the atomic structure that makes up everything in the physical. It does apply to magneto here, thus the whole thing you mention about it being one of the 4 foundation elements of the universe. This is what Charles meant. Magneto appears to be able to use his power as an after thought....it is effortless, Vader seems to have to at least concentrate when he uses his. Having said that...we have no idea if Vader's cyborg body is magnetic, nor does Magneto have an apparent defense against being forced choked to death from the other side of the galaxy. Vader had killed people from well beyond LOS. On top of that, the force seems to guide people at a really high level. They ended up were they need to be, when they need to be there, and some level tactical awareness of what they need to know, when they need to know it. Jedi in general have insanely thick plot armor when the mojo needs them to have it. Peak Magneto might be able to dismantle a Star Destroyer right out from underneath thousands of people, but how do you counteract being choked to death from a dude you can't even see when he is on the other side of the system.

I gotta agree. If magneto gets in front of Vader, and starts to attack, Vader should be at a disadvantage. On the other hand, Vader doesn’t have to sense metal in order to find a person and attack. In a fight, I would make it really simple. Vader could attack with a number two pencil. Magneto couldn’t stop it and that pencil could go straight through an eyeball to the brain. I think you’re right. The first to get a lethal strike is going to win.

In Empire Strikes Back Vader force chokes an admiral over a video call in a fleet who knows how far away (in case ya'll forgot that scene). It's kind of insane when you stop to think about it. Even if Magneto could crush Vader's suit or even simply crush his super star destroyer, over a video call Magneto would stand no chance.

Even if we assume Vader's force shield blocks Magneto's direct attacks, Vader simply doesn't have the raw power to match Magneto's best. We also have to then assume that due to mutual compatibility, Magneto's forcefield would also block Vader's force attacks (which actually makes sense because they've blocked all kinds of psionic and even magical attacks before). In that case, Vader isn't touching Magneto. Vader can exert his power enough to affect a whole battle field but Magneto can, if he really wanted to, exert his power over the entire planet. It's a fairly decent scale difference and even Sidious himself isn't operating on Magneto's level when Eric is at his best.

There’s an assumption that durasteel has magnetic properties. The reality is, it’s a fictional material and we don’t really know if magneto could even manipulate it. Let’s also not forget… Vader can force choke magneto from across the galaxy… kind of a big plot twist there. So even if we did grant Magneto’s power level over magnetism being sufficient to defeat Vader… he still can’t do it from across the galaxy. The fight really is simplistic. I agree. And you even pointed out Vader’s ability in the breakdown. Then proceeded to completely overlook it. Vader wins.

Well... and even if Magneto does have power to manipulate the metal in Vader's body, the power of the force could provide a literal force field protecting Vader. While Magneto's helmet would protect him from any telekinesis effect from Vader, you are correct, there is nothing to stop Vader from using the force to just choke Magneto to death. It comes down to the fact that Vader is able to play better defense.

The power of the force goes far beyond the power of magnetism. It's an interesting question. It also really depends on which rendition of magneto is being compared. I'd give Vader a slight advantage because of the ability of the force to predict the future.
