Sometimes supporting a person means NOT supporting their choices when those choices aren’t good for them. Sterilizing yourself before the age of consent? Hardly even a choice considering the child is under the age of consent.

Ironically, adult women often can't get their plumbing pulled without going through major hoops because "they might change their mind." I'm not even talking about twenty-somethings. Imagine being in your late thirties with a personal history of cancer and being told that. I didn't want kids. Not when I was a teen, not when I was in my twenties, not ever. I'm a cat lady by choice. I finally got my surgery but I was in my late 50s. Please make it make sense.

@@RudesMom i mean, getting 'plumbing' pulled isn't as harmless as you're making it out to be. I don't think we can under estimate the prominence and importance, in general, but specially in Hollywood and other celebrity environments, highest level sports etc, society has given being 'famous'. These kids live it 24/7, see their parents doing and saying things to maintain it. It's the height of a narcissistic environments, and they are born from people with an extreme level of Narcissism. And, if they have no 'talent', etc. to attain it themselves, what better way than to come out trans, or non binary? He would have completely supported me as whatever I chose to be. But that being said, if I had done that at his funeral, he would have been *SO* disappointed in me. Because it wasn't the time and place. I wish I could say "I can't believe they (Fin) did that, on a day and occasion that was meant to celebrate the life and passing of another person." But I can't. When I was part of the early, pioneering, "trans community" we polled ourselves, in private. We figured that anywhere from 60%-90% of our peers were 'mistaken in their self evaluation" when it came to their gender identity. This is peers, and we were looking at ourselves wondering what we were seeing take place. As time went on the rate of "mistaken self-evaluation" grew. By the time the 21st century dawned the trans-community' started to be dominated by those who seemed to be "mistaken in their self-evaluation". It was self-evident that the whole 'place' was not a place of health. It was not a place of comfort. It was a place of dysfunction. Or so it seemed to me... and I have seven decades of experience to draw upon.

They were always featured in celeb magazines. Its no wonder they are now young adults and are so confused to think they can actually chose their gender.

@KimSearch8652 ай бұрын
I think there’s another aspect here. These kids live in their parent’s shadow. They are desperately looking for a way to distinguish themselves as an individual. Constantly being compare to their parents has to be frustrating and intimidating. Some of these kids don’t have the talents or good looks of their parents either, and that has to be so hard on an adolescent! Many of them are pushed towards the entertainment field of the parents… ie: North West, Blue Ivy, Willow & Jaden Smith, JLO’s daughter … and many more. Since Hollywood is known for being extremely liberal… these kids have zero resistance from their parents… and receive automatic affirmation! It’s a “win win” for both child and parent. The child gets to exert their independence & the Hollywood parent gets to look virtuous.
