I'm so grateful for Antony Esolen. He always helps me out in my Facebook conversations with people who are dramatically opposed to Catholic truths.

This episode truly captures the essence of what 'The Catholic Gentleman" is all about. I am so thankful for growing up in a home where it was my dad who took my older brother and me to Mass and laid the foundation that Anthony Esolen beautifully presents here. Thanks John and Sam for keeping the fires of manhood burning and inspiring so many.

Wow. It is rare that masterly numeracy and literacy is present in one person. 💪🙏

You use the word "masterly" in its correct context, rather than "masterful" which is a mis-diction. By such, you are a master of the English language.

I had a father but he was more of a grandpa than a dad. if you don't see something then you don't know what your looking for. I made a lot of mistakes in my life looking up to the wrong people.

"[30:07] a huge muscular body" ... "a muscular body that would not last one round in the ring with a construction worker" - that has to be one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard. While a construction worker can have more strength per pound of muscle and maybe a little tougher, muscle does equate to strength and there is a reason why in martial sports there exists weight classes.

Way to miss the entire scope of his argument and give a rebuttal no one is going to read lol

Great conversation, but Mr. Esolen made an odd claim: a generic construction worker will tend to beat a generic "gym rat" in the boxing ring. I don't know why that should be the case. Success in boxing depends on stamina, skill in bobbing/weaving, skill in striking hard and precisely, ability to think and act tactically, and, "heart" and the ability to take a punch.

I am not denying importance if two parent home. But the incarceration rate is way higher now than it was in the 90s when crime was way higher.

I try not to watch these videos cause it makes me forget to carry the cross of being a single feminine lady in these times. There's an abundance of marriageable ladies in the Catholic church, but nooooot an abundance of marriageable men. I just gotta keep trusting in the Lord that he'll send me and my friends great men to court and marry us when we're both ready.

I agree! My daughter said that’s she’s met a lot of “boys” but no men! She’s given up in trying to find one and is waiting for God to have him appear in her life. It’s really so sad 😞
