Hey Mike! - I moved to Florida last year, but still have a school in Lake Forest which Sifu Derrick runs. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind you stopping by for a class.

Thanks good luck in Florida. You ought to come to the Philippines sometime. You could probably open a successful school here

I agree but maybe to a certain extent is all I could say. Reason being I’m not ready to only do wing chun. I love keeping my fitness up even at 50 yrs old. I currently can’t go to a school but I’m doing chum Kiu every day. What I know or have learned is that learning how your body feels is a key point. I ve learned some stuff outside of wing chun too and can say this mobility and stretching and understanding the fascia has come on leaps and bounds over the last 25 years. Unfortunately wing chun is stuck in the past or the teachers are keeping it there to create unknowing or mystery. If the vocabulary of wing chun evolved people would get it better. I’m saying this because I believe you are open minded Sifu Adam. I also bought your course. You just need to crack that nut and you will have it made. WSL may be recognised as the best fighter in Wing Chun style but he wasn’t the best teacher I don’t think he was able to convey the message to his students to the same degree as Yip Man could. You may well be a brilliant teacher Sifu Adam, that can get the message across. Good luck👍👍

Thank you for your thoughtful comment and for investing in my course! I completely agree that maintaining fitness, especially at 50, is crucial. My point in this video wasn’t to stop working out but to tailor workouts to complement Wing Chun so you're not taking two steps forward and two steps back. Understanding how agonist/antagonist muscles work with Wing Chun helps avoid counterproductive training. Here's a video on Wing Chun Muscles that may help you kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJnPiqmrfMaJrs0 And you're spot on about mobility and fascia-modern insights like these have helped me to continue evolve my teachings. I appreciate your perspective on evolving Wing Chun’s vocabulary and strive to make it clear and practical for today’s practitioners. Thanks for your support and encouragement!
