Many things are banned and illegal in America.....
@X-7-JAMESАй бұрын
This argument is NOT far fetched. America has a history of banning vehicles that were found to be unsafe. If America has banned vehicles because of poor safety ratings and design flaws, why is it out of the question to ban a machine that has so much speed and power, and no protection? It’s a reasonable argument for certain high powered bikes for new riders. Cigarettes were banned because of their proven carcinogenic properties. If a cigarette can be found to be hazardous to one’s health, why can’t a motorcycle? I actually believe cars should be limited to certain power outputs, or power to weight ratios. Sometimes people need to be protected from themselves, but they don’t realize it until they or an innocent person is dead. Certain automobiles or specific features within automobiles have been banned or recalled in the U.S. due to safety hazards. Some examples include: 1. Ford Pinto (1970s) - The Ford Pinto became infamous for its fuel tank design, which was prone to exploding in rear-end collisions. While not officially banned, it faced numerous lawsuits, and Ford eventually recalled the vehicle after public outcry. 2. General Motors X-Cars (Chevrolet Citation, Pontiac Phoenix, etc.) - In the early 1980s, these cars were recalled due to problems with the rear brakes locking up, leading to potential accidents. 3. Suzuki Samurai (1980s-1990s) - This small SUV was not officially banned, but its reputation was damaged due to a Consumer Reports finding that it was highly prone to rollovers. Sales plummeted, and the model was eventually discontinued in the U.S. 4. Yugo GV (1980s) - Known for being one of the cheapest cars sold in America, the Yugo had numerous safety and reliability issues, including a tendency for its engine to fail and its poor crash safety rating. It was discontinued and became a symbol of poor car design.

I am from Europe, just recently finished my license and bought my first bike. Here is how it works: You get your scooter license up to 50cc with your car license automatically no need to even sit on the bike. A1 is the license for the bikes up to 125cc and you can do it from 16 y.o. but you have to go thru 8x 1.5hour rides with the instructor and do the theory and tests. A2 is up to 500cc (same cc is used at the driving school) and again tests and the last one is A which is unlimited, but the school rides have to be on 650cc minimum. There are some special rules: You can upgrade your license without doing theory and rides again when you have 2 years of experience with the "below tier". You can also do whichever "license tier" you want if you meet the age requirements i.e. if you have 18 you can do A2 without having A1 and if you are 24 you can do A without having A2. Since I am past 24 I went straight for A license. Started on MT07 and I don't regret it. I was really decided to go for Duke 390 but with the camshaft failures and hearing that it's pretty much shitty company I've decided for MT07. It's really fun bike and I am glad that i went for it. I can tell that I would be already bored on the 390. The bikes are just "tools" if you are dum dum and you buy yourself a S1kRR as your first bike well ... good luck.
@CycleCruzaАй бұрын
Thank you for explaining the way the licensing tier system works in Europe. It is an effective system compared to how we do here in the US and as a result Europe has far fewer motorcycle related deaths. It is the young noobs you need to worry more about.
@tomrodgers6629Ай бұрын
This is not socialist Europe and never will be. The exact opposite of what motorcycle culture stands for. We do not need to ask the states permission to ride what we want to ride. I grew up on all types of bikes. My first street bike was a Ninja !000 and I have rode ninjas from then on as a matter of fact my next bike ( As long as things go as planned.) will be a H2. I spent a number of Saturdays hanging out at the dealer drooling over that bike.

I think what Cruza is getting at is, there are too many crazy mofos newbies out there that WILL kill themselves if they get on these bikes. If people really enjoy riding bikes a 450 - 600 is plenty to have fun on. Also just because you survived on your 1000cc does not mean the majority of noobs can do it too. My only gripe against Cruza is an all out ban on superbikes, I disagree with that.
@CycleCruzaАй бұрын
Now noobs see your comment and are saying Tom started on a superbike so can I. Then they get a superbike and die on it. 😔 I'm not for socialism but I am for helping riders to stay safer. I just personally witnessed biker that got killed from excessive speeding on a superbike on the highway while in my car. It was horrific and motivated me to do this video.

I learned to roll the throttle gently, switch gears, brake, ‘counter steering’… Trust on my tyres came progressively. Later, I tried a bmw r1250gs and I was blown away by how it was easy to handle. In the UK we can do our full license at 24 years old. But you do your training and tests on a middle weight bike. Below 24 years old you have to do a series of tests to work your way up the cc's. I only got an MT10 after riding for 10 years and with some advanced training. The American way of get a temp license and get a super bike seems crazy
@marsantos81Ай бұрын
bought a monster 797 for my first bike. It's not boring and it's not super fast. Similar to the MT-07...torquey , quick and still good on the highway. I would have been mad if the government put me in the position to spend money on something I don't want. Middleweight naked or lower is the way to go for a starter bike. But with the middleweight I see more potential to hang onto the bike for longer.

I don't think we should have a ban, but we definitely need restrictions and mandatory courses or license to operate certain vehicles for new riders... Rule #1: Respect your bike. Rule #2: If you show off, you'll get tossed off. Rule # 3 Learn the basics to perfection. 💯

Once again, as I said in the previous last comment on the previous video. My wife and I got rid of ALL our bikes to get the new 2025 Rocket 3R Storm. What bikes? Ducati V4R, 2022 MV Agusta Brutal Serie Oro, 2024 MV Agusta Brutale 1000RR & my wife's MV Agusta Brutale Assen Edition. We are buying the new 2025 Triumph Rocket 3R Storm. She wants the Blue and black and I want the all black. We'll wait until Brentune comes out with the 2025 Rocket 3R Storm ECU flash, while we'll be buying all the carbon pieces for the motorcycle. This is coming from someone who, in 32 years of riding have NEVER had an accident(but have seen well over 100 accidents happening in real time...including seeing one guy have his spinal cord literally ejected from his body by an 18 wheeler on the highway and it was totally his fault for not being aware of the 18 wheeler and his distance from the truck...). Our days of going 192 mph and 200 mph are done. Going up to 150 mph is pretty much the max we'll go and that is if NOBODY is around us for miles !!

I'm probably one of the few chill ZX-6R owners where I live. No tickets, never pull anything dangerous on the highways etc. 100% new riders should not have anything close to 100hp starting though. A CC system could possibly help with that. But a lot of people forget we have super cars, muscle cars and hyper cars out there on the streets too. You don't need any of those either. Who really needs more than a v6 engine? It's the same with bikes, do you really need something more than a ninja 250? I respect my ZX6R and Ninja 400 for what they are and enjoy both safely.

The way it's done in the UK is how it should be stateside. Were you can't start on anything more than a 125. Then you can progress to a bigger bike as you become a better rider. I just can't imagine riding on anything other than a supersport as no matter what bike I get, I always gravitate back to something like a R6. It'll be the same with the new R9 as I'm getting the 1st White and Red R9 that hits my dealership's showroom.

liter bikes are great on big city freeways. You need to be able to go faster than the cars, and now a days even a nissan maxima is faster than that MT-07 in MPH and just a 1.5 sec slower on the 1/4. when you get a crazy road raging charger scat pack chasing you, believe me you want the litter bike. S1k is prob the best, comfy, cruise control, heated grips, GPS, TPMS. can drive slow, or fast and it does what you want.

@CycleCruzaАй бұрын
First off, no hate to superbike owners out there. Great to see you riding. However, there is no way you can get everything out of a superbike on the streets. I can train a monkey to pin the throttle in a straight line, that gets lame after years but maybe it doesn't for some riders. I guarantee you that I can probably smoke you on your S1000rr with my YZ450FX supermoto on tight twisty mountain roads and be safer. Superbikes are even overkill for most recreational track riders, most non-professional racers don't have the skills to get everything out of a superbike at the track let alone the street.
@SilverEagle1stАй бұрын
I agree with you for the most..powerful superbikes (R1, Panigale V4, RSV4, BMW S1000, CBR1000 etc)are pointless for the streets, but it depends where do you live and what kind of streets you ride...if you live in a sad flat land area with just highways and boring straights and suburban american streets you are right...but if you live near mountain and hill pass roads the sport bike is better than any cruiser or naked bike for the ride feeling...and for that purpose bikes like the RS660, or the yamaha R7 or R9 have replaced the old school sport bikes(the low torque 4 cylinders 600cc and the powerful 1000cc)...not much power but with a driving position of a sport bike(it is less confortable, but in my opinion the feeling is better)...and more torque in the low rpm range...the mt07 you ride is more than enough for the streets, and for who wants to drive confortable, but the R7, with its riding position it is a good compromise and it is a bike capable of introducing you to the track...

Would a beginner license be easier to get since it's restricted to slower bikes?
@RidinDirty86Ай бұрын
You definitely know how this KZbin game works. lol. I don’t believe in bans, but a graduated licensing system would be ok for sport bike only. A 650 cc dual sport ≠ a 650 sport bike. New dual sport riders need that torque.
