As a 54 year-old coming to terms with severe emotional and psychical abuse suffered as a child and teen, I'm glad this channel exists; it's nice to know I have easy access to expert opinion. And it's free of charge! This video seemed to go all over the place, but it didn't address a question I have: What are the optimal ways for the individual to deal with trauma? I understand there's no quick fix answer that would benefit everyone (we all have our own stories), but I'd be interested in watching a "Where to start" video.

So sad and sorry to hear you suffered all this trauma as a child and teenager, I myself too and I’m the same age as yourself. You will get there. It’s all about sharing and acceptance and listening to these videos. They all make perfect sense.

I suggest starting with this book, The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk. He talks about several different modalities to help with childhood abuse and traumas. I remember one modality that he called the empty chair exercise, you can do this from the comfort and privacy of your home. I like that one and have done it a few times myself. If you have insurance, counseling is a good start.

Have you ever felt like you had to hide your emotions just to be accepted, or been told to ‘calm down’ when you were just trying to express yourself? Suppressing emotions doesn’t make them go away-it leaves a lasting impact on our mental and physical health. This video uncovers how repressed feelings can lead to struggles like ADHD, anxiety, and even conditions like hypertension. It’s a powerful reminder that what we carry inside shapes our lives in ways we might not realize. Let’s open up this conversation. Have you experienced the weight of suppressed emotions? How do you cope with these challenges? Share your story in the comments-it could inspire someone else. Let’s come together as a community, learn from each other, and create a space of healing and understanding. Don’t forget to like and share if this resonates with you. Let’s spread awareness and help others find their voice. #MentalHealth, #TraumaHealing, #EmotionalWellness, #ADHD, #Anxiety, #HealingJourney, #SelfImprovement, #StressRelief, #Empowerment

all of these apply to me. I’m tired of being told everything is my fault bc I’m too sensitive, too emotional at times that call for emotions such as a funeral, a death. I now realize it’s bc they’re uncomfortable bc they can’t put me back together. They want me to stop crying. My sins, my husband don’t allow me to be or feel my feelings. Their impatience is truly more pressure on top of the agony of death of my family

Thank you for this. Ive been told to shut up my whole life and its caused extreme stress issues in my life. I also noticed the first man my daughter had kids with still tells her to not tak as well as everyone guilting her into silence inbolving her foster home and time in the wisc system. And again I see the whole shut up theme with my granddaughter.

Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story. I’m so sorry you’ve experienced this, and it breaks my heart to hear how it has impacted your family. Being silenced can leave deep emotional scars, and it’s so important to have a voice and be heard. Your awareness and care for your daughter and granddaughter are truly powerful. Keep standing up for them and yourself-you deserve kindness, respect, and the freedom to express yourself. Sending you and your family so much love and strength. ❤️

☃️Respectively I would say to NOT use the word unlearn trauma, but transform trauma.🌿
