Anakin Skywalker might be a sore loser, but he didn't deserve to be treated like a piece of shit by the Jedi Council. Instead, they should've supported Skywalker and all he went through. Jinn was the one who truly helped him.

@@Vietmac1993 Agreed. Qui-Gon's viewpoint of being a Jedi is what most of the Jedi High Council might've considered blasphemy. They were all hypocrites in their own rights as if they wanted to say "Don't you dare presume to tell us what is right and wrong!" as if they all believed they were morally superior akin to how most of the Sith were.

They did the worst possible thing to an extremely talented student. Instead of suppressing his skills, they should have allowed him to maximize his skills and have him trained by the most powerful Jedi in order to continue pushing his limits Every basic education on how to teach tells you that what the Jedi did only creates problems as talented students are not challenged and, therefore, start causing trouble. Mace and Yoda should have been training him directly from the start. You can't expect people at the end of any bell curve to operate like the middle. At the top of any game you play by different rules
@gabrielcarrasco9078

The problem is Anakin was too rash, and seemed to want to grow stronger. Made some very bad decisions. My guess is the council wanted to suppress Anakin to learn humility, humbleness, and the jedi code. The problem is too many things conflicted. Palpatine gave Anakin what he wanted. Put him on the front lines of the most significant battles to train him.

Just as a stats guy I feel an impulse to point out that these things don’t always follow bell curves. There are numerous distributions, some skewed one way or another, and some symmetrical but not a bell curve. Also, if you took all the people at the ends of such curves, and then put them on another curve showing the probability that they can succeed while being treated the same way as people from the middle of the original curve, I think you might find some outliers there as well, meaning there might be a number of outliers (no matter how small) that can succeed under such conditions as you outlined. That all being said, I agree with your general point, especially with respect to Anakin. But I just like talking about stats lol

How did the Jedi suppress Anakin now I'm by no means educated in teaching so forgive me if I say anything stupid lol but Anakin started from the bottom already below others his age and yes he was powerful in the force which may have given him a head start on someone else starting at the bottom but there was no way to know if he was going to be a talented student compared to just his strength in the force giving him a head start in his abilities now if your talking about power and fighting strength which is what it sounds like your implying some people believe Anakin was already above the likes of Obi-Wan mace and even Yoda in power and lightsaber dueling in which case they are not suppressing Anakin but simply reached the limit of what they can teach him but if you believe he hasn't passed Yoda mace and Obi-Wan then there's no need to advance his training when he hasn't advanced past his current teachers but that's talking power and lightsaber dueling now in every other aspect I'd argue Anakin was "operating like the middle" as you put it Anakin was super talented and excelled especially in lightsaber dueling which i brought up earlier but what do I know like I said I'm not educated in teaching 🤷‍♂️

Anakin definitely had his talents but he also had some level of arrogance that needed to be kept in check. Anakin's biggest weakness was emotional control. The Jedi Order were heavily against the idea of emotional attachment. If someone like Plo Koon was Anakin's master he would have had better emotional control.

@@Vietmac1993 perhaps with a different master Anakin's emotions and arrogants may have been under better control but maybe not some people just can't be influenced by others like that no matter who tries to help but you are probably right I mean didn't Dave say qui gon was the master Anakin needed or something like that so what do I know lol also just spitballing here something I thought while reading your comment how do you suppose mace would go as Anakin's master he has an aura of confidence/arrogance (it's a fine line) and he has his own darkness under control so he might have been able to help Anakin given they are kinda similar

Does anyone find it pretty telling that while chastising a child for being afraid in a room full of Jedi, the council then proceeded to always treat Anakin with suspicion and fear? To me, there reluctance to train him would have led to their downfall if it had led to him not being trained anyway. Qui-Gon found him, tons of Jedi knew he was the chosen one, the Sith were always going to find out about him and he'd have been so easily led to the darkside had the Jedi been allowed to reject him. The irony being that if Anakin had been trained during Luke's Jedi reformation in legends, he'd have been fine. Compassion for and faith in those who give themselves to the light, is what keeps them there. I guess we need to ask ourselves the question; Who's fear led Anakin to the Darkside? His own, or the Jedi high councils? I can't help but feel like if Qui-Gon had survived or had Yoda and the other council members had more faith in Anakin, he may have felt inclined to share his vision of Padmes death with another Jedi. Not only that, but the Jedi were also completely missing an opportunity in Anakin, with his strength in the force, had they been able to develop more of an interest and appreciation within Anakin for the finer mysteries of the force, his mastery of force healing could have been something spectacular.

Managing anikin was the biggest mistake the Jedi could’ve made. They tried to force him to bend to their ideals and didn’t really try to make a compromise. Heck they didn’t even save his mom who was a slave and just left her to the dust. How do you think that affects someone to work with a group of people who never helped your mom and left her.

I always found it very ironic that in legends, Mace Windu brought Rahm Kota into the Jedi Order, who was WAY OLDER than Anakin was. Like its ok to accept an 18 year old Kota, who is basically an adult at that point but not a 9 year old? Who was supposed to be the Chosen One by the way! Once again, it just shows a double standard within the Jedi Order. They sure like to have their cake and eat it too. And they wonder why so many turn to the dark side lol.

The dogma of The Jedi is The Jedi Code, their moral constitution. -Their code didn't go down the wrong path" The Jedi themselves deviated from it -because with the Return Of The Sith -and the arrival of young Anakin Skywalker" The Jedi Council are dealing with prophecy -to aid them in their time of uncertainty. The Jedi Code, or dogma, is about ethics, -not prophecy. Their Code can't guide them in prophecy ! The Jedi Council are concerned about "WHAT" -prophecy will reveal concerning the FATE of The Order !🌈🤓

Windu has shown respect and care for Anakin at times. He just doesn't show it often. And if Palpatine had died at the Chancellor's building, he might have made Anakin a Jedi Master on the spot. The main issue is how the Jedi were structured in the first place. One of them even condemning the practices of taking young children to become Jedi, separated from their parents, and forcing them to grow up without family or attachments. Windu in particular likely didn't see anything wrong with the system, and his displayed behavior towards Anakin was a symptom of that. Not trying to defend it. Just trying to add context.

@MaraJadeSkywalker. True, but the RoTS novel is legends, and Mace and Anakins relationship was a lot more cordial compared to canon. In canon, it pushes the narrative of the jedi council being arrogant and prone to poor decision making without reason, Windus character especially was butchered unfortunately

@@michaelthomas2032 More like it was the Jedi and Palpatine that were the problems. All of Anakin's problems stem from them. The Jedi were supposed to teach him yet failed to realize that he wasn't ordinary, and he also had a dark past that none of the other's had, and they refused to give him any counseling. For the first 5 years he had exactly 0 friend's and it took Obi Wan that long to realize that. Not to mention he was constantly looked down upon and mocked by the other's and no one did anything. Palpatine was basically the only one who encouraged him and seemed to appreciate him and we know how Palpatine truly was.
