Why The Kung Fu Panda 4 Trailer Has Me Excited

Love me some Kung Fu Panda. Seriously. Love it. Very happy to see that we are getting more, and it looks SO GOOD. Note, didn't know this was a new trilogy at the time of recording, so... yeah I do make a few potentially incorrect assumptions. Oh well. Enjoy!

I hope Tai Lung gets a redemption cause from the looks of things so far, it really sets the stage for a redemption. Like say once Tai Lung has been stripped of his abilities by the Chameleon which in a way robs Tai Lung of what he felt defines him, this leaves Tai Lung with only his frustrations and fears. Then we have Po who has ascend to a new level of inner peace and become a spiritual leader of sorts. This could have Po and Tai Lung working together begrudgingly at first but during the course of their adventure, Po and Tai Lung bond and find an understanding in each other. Through this understanding, Po helps Tai Lung come to terms with his past mistakes and find peace with himself. This could also be a key lesson to Po of finding this new level of inner peace by helping others find inner peace. This could transition Po into his new role as a spiritual leader as well as earn Tai Lung a second chance in life to atone for his sins, start a new life and maybe even mend his bond with his adoptive father and master, Shifu. Also, I feel like Po's new fox sidekick might become a candidate for the new Dragon Warrior or it might be Tigress. A great twist they could pull is to have Po pick a reformed and redeemed Tai Lung to be Dragon Warrior but Tai Lung turns it down having found peace and no longer a need to be the Dragon Warrior which would show his significant change of heart but if Tigress becomes the new Dragon Warrior then Tai Lung could take her place among the Furious Five or maybe work with Shifu and Po.

@@StudentofUsp Well, the trailer is only a sneak peek of what's to come, it doesn't guarantee which character will or won't be part of a story majorly. Plus, if Tai Lung wasn't playing a major part in the storyline then they wouldn't have included him in the movie's poster as they haven't included villains like Kai and Lord Shen. Also, the posters usually display characters who are part of the story plot and show who the story's adventure will focus on in some way. So for the poster to include Tai Lung but not Kai and Lord Shen, it means that Tai Lung has a deeper role in the story instead of just a one and done cameo.

I think Tai Lung is gonna be important in the film because he has a pretty prominent place in the poster art and his voice actor (Ian McShane) is confirmed to be returning.

Dreamworks are very good at giving the audience what they want. There are two things the KFP fans have wanted since the first movie/tv series came out, and that is Po and Tigress to become a couple, and Tai Lung to return. Out of the two, the second makes much more sense. Tai Lung is the perfect example of a redeemable villain, and is something this franchise hasn't done yet. Plus, I don't think the whole TiPo thing will ever become more than just fan fiction, as I see Po and Tigress sharing nothing more than a very close friendship, almost sibling-like. If I'm wrong, then Dreamworks really missed out on a fantastic storyline.

This trailer did what I believe it SHOULD'VE done. -- Showed us interesting settings, character interactions, the villain, TAI LUNG... I'm incredibly excited. However, I SO WANT MORE THAN JUST ONE SCENE OF Tigress -- and the rest of the Five. They're characters who..yes, have been explored but also are underdeveloped in the films, with the exception of Tigress. I WANT MORE OF THE FURIOUS FIVE.

I think its a good idea to keep the furious five somewhat out of the main plot. Currently there are so many potential main/side characters, not counting the returning characters such as tai lung. I feel like there might be too many characters to have the furious five be included in a meaningful way. Its kind of like expecting each avengers movie to include every existing marvel superhero

Given the fact that the main villain seems to be stealing the abilities of the most powerful Kung Fu masters, the Furious Five will likely get overpowered early on, like they did in the 3rd movie, hence why they aren't as prevalent (that's my guess at least).

Anything Kung Fu Panda related since the third film seems to steer away from the five completely. It doesn't feel as jarring that they are not in the fourth film much because we have had Paws of Destiny and Dragon Knight where the Five don't even appear at all. The fourth film seems to continue that thread. It is a same they're not going to be involved as much in this film compared to the others. Mind you, some of the new cast like Zhen seem quite cool so it feels like it balances out in a way. Plus I would never say No to more Awkwafina. Love her work in the Bad Guys Movie.

i hope po character grows, I don´t like it that he is over the top "stupid", I want his character to be more mature or more serious again (movie 2), I bit like the season 1 Po von the Prime original series (Paws of Desteny), grown as a character, strong and mature but also sometimes silly. I think that Dragon Knight redone that character groth and I want it back Also hope the movie is better that the 3 one (i don´t liked it), the villain wasn´t seirous enought, wanted to see more of the panda training, and the beginning with the ducks saying (What a loser) wasn´t good, but the rest of the movie was good. But I prefer the first 2 movies they were just perfect
