I said this at the end of the season as a Raiders fan that this was a move I would love. He has shown he can play a full season and do well enough. I think the Raiders plan ways to get an elite d and stay at 13 and take a quarterback if they fall or slightly trade up without mortgaging the future.

With Robertson leaving, drafting a top CB at pick 13 is the better move, which also solidifies the final weak spot in the defense. Draft a QB in round 2 and then take an OL, a fast WR, or a RB in round 3.

A backup QB with starting qualities that has carried bad/rebuilding teams while developing young rookies in the process who eventually become starters. Gardner Minshew is an ideal QB in this very specific scenario the Raiders are in.

Minshews contract was basically a gift. We were gonna pay that amount and more no matter what paying Jimmy G. We got out of his contract and threw part of that at Minshew.

As I've said before. O'Connell showed he serviceable. But if I were the Raiders, I'd trade Adams to the JETS for their 2024 1st round pick, so can have 2 higher 1st round picks. Trade the lower 1st round pick to trade down & get an extra 2nd round pick. So 1st earlier pocket get Penix Jr. He has everything you need in the NFL, accurate, good presence, can make all throws, can process info fast. With later 1st, OG Beebe from KSU. In 2nd round, draft 2 WRs.

I think it's terrible. He is not considerably better than AOC. AOC even has a little more upside, because he has the better arm and played in a terrible situation, with a first time playcaller, who didn't design the offense. This feels like just a waste of money. It's JimmyG all over again. Minshew doesn't have the arm to ever be a starter in the NFL. He is a solid backup, but way overpriced for that and we already have AOC who is exactly that. We should have just drafted a guy. 12 million per year would have gotten us a star player on another position, now we are just putting it on the bench or spend it on a player, who is not really an upgrade. That money could have brought Josh Jacobs back instead. If they want a veteran they should have just picked up Russel Wilson, who doesn't cost anything and is considerably better than Minshew.

Wilson would be waving his nose at all the cigar smoke in the locker room. Minshew fits the vibe of this team and gives a reliable vet that isn’t going to expect to start. We will still probably draft a guy. I love Jacobs but raiders are prioritizing other positions over an aging running back.
