@@BowerBomB Pretty much the point he was trying to make. And he's right. The media and politicians don't want you to think about what they are doing or saying, only to form some sort of emotional attachment to it. If you do that, it maked you less likely to research. It also makes you more likely to defend it even in the light of contradictory evidence. Finally, it also makes you more likely to vote favorably for a politician that manages to cause an emotional link to you... even if you hate them rather than like them.

@@JonMDVisual quality wise that is a subjective statement at best, many companies are producing some of the best wrestling ever made daily. @@JonMDVisual once again I wouldn't exactly agree. As I said earlier there are more thriving companoes then ever, except the territory days perhaps, the revenue is up, the talent is getting paid, the only metric is less popularity but by all other accounts that doesn't matter at all. This is especially becuase the orginal comment I replied to said it was failing, which it undoubtedly isn't.

I've been saying for a while now that cable news has basically become pro-wrestling. The viewer has to tune in every day to see what the "bad guys" are doing, but they'll let the "good guy" win once in a blue moon to let the viewer know there's a chance that they will win. There's no reporting in cable news anymore, just narratives (similar to storylines or angles in pro-wrestling).

damn. haven't heard the name eric bischoff in a long time and he came back dropping facts. i noticed news media appealing to emotion more and more since the 2000s. It's a good way to keep people engaged without actually informing them of anything. the downside is you end up with a public who's blinded by rage and void of any fact or information. Politicians love it though. You couldn't produce an easier to manipulate crowd in a laboratory if you tried.

Bischoff is a genius. Gets his point out in such a great way. "The minute you get angry is the the minute you stop thinking." He gives examples of US media outlets but it is so damn true about Indian news channels too. Plus that "heel promo" in the beginning was an added bonus. 😋

Every one that you've ever liked or hated, every one that you've ever voted for. they have *all been wrestlers* You missed the point of this whole message.
