Dear Friends, please accept my apologies for the availability issues on the Ibn Warraq book. I had not realized until a commenter mentioned it that even the Kindle version is not available. I encourage you not to spend $500 for the book from the private seller who has it, because I do not expect the current unavailability from Prometheus is permanent. Sorry for the trouble; I was just talking about a book on my shelf. It is one reality of academic-type books: Sometimes they become hard to get after their initial publication. Anyway, thank you for watching, and Happy New Year to everyone.

Dr Brubaker, it is a stumbling block to Muslims that they do not understand the Biblical concepts of "sacrifice" and "sin" and therefore they don't understand "without blood there can be no redemption", so they miss the profound importance of the Cross. I would love a lecture from you, beginning with the first sacrifice of creatures to cover the nakedness of the first two humans, performed by God himself, and on into the latter sacrifices as commanded by God to Moses so I can better explain the need for Jesus sacrifice to Muslims.

@@lindaclark6148 Well, It is not only muslims that cannot see any logical bearing what so ever of the sacrifice. The western world is filled with atheist and agnostics, and they are increasing each and every day, and it has very much to do with the many illogical concepts of christianity. It is a pointless efforts of Christians in trying to explain that God would need death and blood of a human (or His son/demigod/or the One God himself) to forgive. Alongside with the completely illogical view of Jesus, Some Ghost, The father, Trinity and the whole pagan package of what Christians believe is God. Dan seem the be a smart Guy, but he has to be the last one with that high of academic level that still believes in that nonsense. Dear Dr Brubaker, Please continue your good academic work. I notice a lot of commentators cheering you on, to 'expose' Islam and the Quran, hoping for you to confirm their suspicions that the Quran we have today is not the authentic copy. I for one, am cheering you on, that your work will eventually lead to the truth that it will further reconfirm that the copy we have now is the true and authentic same Quran that was transmitted to our Prophet, because that fact has been stated by Allah ta'ala(biased comment) and it may just be that you have not gotten enough evidence yet. Only time will tell, as has been proven again and again. And I look forward to Allah ta'ala allowing you to discover the truth(as that is what you are after) and consequently embrace Islam, along with all the commentators here. But for the muslims, our faith is so entrenched in our hearts that we say, Aamantu billah bila daleel! 😉 (I leave this for your own translation 😊). From a muslim

Noah planted a wineyard in Nietchevan after the flood,the name of the village/place is Kahorah,HORAH IN KAHORAH MEANS GRAPES! *THAT* *WAS* *EXCELLENT* How important is the syriac to transmitting Christian/Messianic concepts to the koran? If the syriac communicated Christian/Messianic concepts to the koran, why did it get so twisted up? Was it because of the adopting of arabic to inaugurate the arab/muslim? A newish written language poorly defined (eg no accents), that was subject to spelling problems and a missing ortho-spelling? Or was it due to a "midrash" style of arguing, changing the text in response to "yeshiva" style political arguments? How many times did the koran (or its primordial writings) get changed? Jesus is God's Anointed King and High Priest (psalm 2) Psalm 19: it almost looks like 2 tables:signs in the heavens for the heathens and the law for Israel -- that God has a natural way to reach the ungodly, but instructs the godly through his law ... The sun, moon and stars are given to *all* people (or to the non-israelites) for signs, seasons, etc. So the law would tell Israel and the sky would tell the gentiles. Have you heard the theory that Daniel taught the Chaldeans about the star of the messiah? Do you think that the star was a comet? It seems that we have Scripture to tell us about the signs of Jesus' second coming, and there will be (again) signs in the sky for the non-christians to indicate the second coming. Thanks for the video and God bless everyone!

I have your book on Koranic corrections and have complete faith in your scholarship. The problem here is that the gospels of Luke and Matthew are littered with literary fictions trying to show that Jesus was the Messiah. Thr prophesy of isiah in Hebrew said that a maiden would give birth to a son. When translated into greek by the septuagint it became a virgin - hence the fiction that Mary was a virgin. Being the messiah also required him to be of the house of David which required him to be born in Bethlehem, hence the tale of the census. There was no census, even if there had been, they did not have to go back to where they were born. And the creators of the story have overlooked that if there was a virgin birth then Joseph was not his father, so Jesus was not from the house of David. There was no virgin birth in Bethlehem, no wise men and no star. He was Jesus of Nazareth because that is where he was born.

**************How different is that than me saying “this word in English is incorrect or misunderstood because it actually means something else in French”? Considering english has borrowed words and phrases from the french language, as well as latin and greek and german to name a few, it actually could be a credible statement. Knowing the meaning of the root of the word in english in the original language it came from can give one more depth of understanding. For example, I am from a greek background, so knowing the meaning of the root in greek gives me more depth of understanding of the word in english. So not a far-fetched idea, at all...

One of the problems with the eternal preservation of the Quran is assumed here: If both Allah and the Quran are un-created and are equally eternal, then neither one owns the other. Therefore; a bigger question to be asked is this: What gives Allah the right to re-establish the Quran in seven different readings?
@123dsj1234 жыл бұрын
@John Wick You asked a good question: “What is the definition of the Quran?” There are many answers. But here is one answer might interest you, because it creates more questions than answers: In Quran 81: 19-21, we read, “Verily this (Quran) is the word of a most honorable messenger, endured with power, and with rank before the Lord of the throne.” Questions: Who is the honorable messenger of whom the un-created and eternal Quran is his word? Can that which is un-created and eternal (Quran) be the word of creature (honorable messenger)? If the Quran is eternal, shouldn’t the honorable messenger be doubly (two times more) eternal than the Quran? * In Quran 5:101, we read the answer to the many questions concerning the honorable messenger: Quran 5:101 reads, “O you who believe! @ChristAboveAll Johnson - where are you getting the premise “both are uncreated and equally eternal” from, or even your interpretation of it? I as a being know what I’m going to say, hence my speech exists before it i speak it. How am I then not the owner of my speech? I say something to express a sentiment or an idea, I can express the same sentiment or idea in other ways - different language, dialect, or via synonyms.. but what I express doesn’t change. Why is this hard to understand? A harder (impossible) concept to understand is christology itself. Every time I think of trinity, I think of 3 kids in an adult sized trench coat trying to sneak into a movie theater with one movie ticket.

@@faisalwho You were answering my question: “If both Allah and the Quran are un-created and are equally eternal, then neither one owns the other. Therefore; a bigger question to be asked is this: What gives Allah the right to re-establish the Quran in seven different readings?” You wrote, “I as a being know what I’m going to say, hence my speech exists before it i speak it. How am I then not the owner of my speech? I say something to express a sentiment or an idea, I can express the same sentiment or idea in other ways - different language, dialect, or via synonyms. but what I express doesn’t change. Why is this hard to understand?” * According to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, there are only two places of existence: (1) The temporal world and (2) The eternal world. You and I live in the temporal world or within creation. As you know, in the temporal world, you are formed (created or made) before you can have a speech. That means you are older than your speech. In other words, a child who will be two years from now will have to be formed first before he can have a speech. However, in the eternal world where God exists, things are different - nothing is formed first or nothing has a beginning. * Again, here is the question: If both Allah and the Quran are un-created and are equally eternal, then neither one owns or belongs to the other. Therefore; a bigger question to be asked is this: What gives Allah the right to re-establish the Quran in seven different readings? * Allah defines for us what a Muslim is. A Muslim is one who is not permitted to ask question about his faith. Quran 5:101 reads, “O you who believe! Ask not about things which, if made plain (clear) to you may cause you trouble (grief).” Then in the next verse, Allah explains why no Muslim must ask questions about his faith. Quran 5:102 reads, “Some people (Muslims) before you did ask such questions, and on that account, lost their faith.” Do you see the reason why Muslims, by the millions, are leaving their faith? Non-Muslims are forcing Muslims to answer questionable claims about the Islamic faith. * Again, the question: If both Allah and the Quran are un-created and are equally eternal, then neither one owns or belongs to the other, what gives Allah the right to re-establish the Quran in seven different readings?

ChristAboveAll Johnson 1)“if both Allah and the Quran are un-created and are equally eternal, then neither one owns or belongs to the other”. I wholeheartedly disagree with this premise, both the reasoning and the conclusion. 2) don’t man-splain the Quran to me. Unlike you I actually have a correct understanding of these verses and what exactly it is referring too. 3) People disbelieve for two reasons. They lack knowledge, or they prefer this life over the hereafter. People “leaving by the millions” is a ridiculous claim, because you conveniently disregard the fact people are entering Islam by the millions as well. It is Christianity, not Islam that is hemorrhaging followers. There is a reason islam has existed for long before you and I and long after you and i. You assume you are smarter than than all the muslims in the world, don’t do so - because I understand what you are trying to say, and you are coming from a place of ignorance and arrogance.

When a person says that in surah 97 of the Quran God is telling us about Christmas then surely you must know that he is lying? The monotheistic religion of Islam does not mention the pagan custom of December 25th anywhere in the Quran - even a novice like myself knows this. This and so many other lies speaks volumes of Dr Brubaker's prejudice and bias towards Islam despite the lovely gentle appearance he projects.

🤔 could someone please explain to me, WHY do we need to have momadman book called conrun mixed with the purity of the Bible 🤔🕎🌏🌍🌎✝️
@alahatzaifat18724 жыл бұрын
The bible certainly is NOT 'pure' by any stretch of the imagination; we have NONE of the originals, we only have copies of copies of copies of translations of copies... we know of intentional and unintentional errors in the bible etc... so please don't claim it is pure. As to why Dr. Brubaker is discussing both is that they are related... they both speak of jesus and other prophets as both religions, as well as judaism, are abrahamic... they all consider abraham the father of these religions... with Isaac, son of Abraham being instrumental in judaism and xtianity, and Ishmael, son of Abraham instrumental in Islam... they all claim that they worship the same god, just by different names... so that is probably why.... I hope that answers your question... ??

@@dawvidben-huir8101 ***********yes I agree that Abram was cruel for casting away Hagar and Ishmael 🤔did you continue reading to see how G-d blessed them and their descendants Yes, such a righteous man and god wasn’t much better, since he instructed that he should send them out… even though he would then ‘bless’ them… still, separating a son from his father at the age of 13, and sending him out to who knows what fate… while at the same time, not even questioning or praying on the subject when again, this monstrous god asks the unthinkable for a father to kill his son… disgusting, if you ask me. The excuse given is that god wanted to test A’s loyalty etc… but he is supposed to be a damned god, and is said to be all-knowing as one of his abilities… so he knew ahead of time what was in A’s mind… so it was a sick joke or what?? And note, it wasn’t god who stopped him… it was an angel of god… hmmmm… the complete story is ludicrous… like Isaac did not fight back? He is said to have been 37 at the time of the story… and A was over 90 or some such… here son, let me tie you up and kill you on this altar to god… it won’t hurt.. I’ll slash your throat quickly’…. Really? You want us to believe this shit?? I read ahead and saw the story states that both Isaac and Ishmael would be blessed blah blah blah… it is but a story. But it certainly shows the callousness of all three Abrahamic religions… life is not important.. it seems… god’s only real punishment throughout the bible is death… no compassion is really shown from anyone to anyone.. a very cold and compassionless religious foundation…

I was shocked, Doc, to find out you were a Christian in your rebuttal video to Dr. Qadhi. I would like to ask you a few questions. Since you are a scientist, what astronomical activity do you believe was happening in the sky that would be confused with a guiding star to a manger in Palestine from Iran (since actual stars can't do that)? Do you believe the genealogy of Joseph in Luke chap. 3 is historically accurate or is it allegorical? Do you accept the Theory of Evolution through Natural Selection? If so, how does that play into the Christian Theology discussed in this video?

When one reads the first printed publication of the King James Bible, one would notice that there was no letter 'J' written/used in the English language at that time. I am not sure when the letter 'J' was introduced into the English language. Many Bibical names written in the Bible which started with the letter 'I' have subsequently been changed to the letter 'J'. I expect that the letter 'J' might have come from the French language. What I find amazing is that GOD calls Himself, "I AM", and that every English school boy and girl who learnt French knows that 'I am' is translated into French as 'Je suis', which when compounded together can become Jesus without the 'i' [Latin: ego].

Dr. Brubaker, what is your scholarly opinion on the work of Dan Gibson? I'm aware that Gibson's work is still a controversial topic, as it is still quite recent, but do you think that his findings are possibly somehow reflected in the manuscripts, and their origin, that your work concerns itself with? And, if I may also ask, what conclusion do you foresee Gibson ultimately reaching (i.e. is it really possible that the man Muhammad did not actually exist in the 7th century as the Muslims currently believe)? Thank you so much for you work. I understand that your channel does not concern itself with apologetics or polemics, but I would really value your insight as a fellow scholar of Islamic history (to Gibson, not myself).

Even then you guys still have problem. Buddha's biography buddhacarita was written by Aśvaghoṣa only in the 2nd century AD. The Gospels were written long before that. @@alangervasis Sorry for delayed reply... The crucifiction & resurrection is meant to appease (then) Egyptian audience. Because they believed in some Crucifiction & resurrection of Horus. Even the crucifix is taken from Egyptian Ankh. But, all of these Egyptian symbols are meant as a dressing. The underlying story is still Buddhist. Buddha's Parinirvana (death) is a huge deal for Buddhists. According to Buddhist legends, Buddha was not crucified in this life. But, Buddha was crucifued in earlier birth (just the one before he became Buddha). So, crucifiction & resurrection of Jesus is taken from crucifiction & reincarnation of Buddha. It was meant to attract Egyptian audience... created by Jewish & Egyptian Buddhists to convert Mediterrenean to Buddhism. Later (in 325 CE), Roman Emperor Constantine mixed various christian (Buddhist) sects with Mithraism (sun worship) to create nicean creed. Ashvaghosha belonged to 150 to 50 BCE.
