I think JQ just has a bee in his bonnet 'cause they sent him a cease and desist. Car's fast and really not that hard to drive. Pace/serviceability/price/parts support its the best C hub car overall, and so therefore, the best 8th scale race car overall. XO keep up the good work 😘😘

Have you ever tried a cheap hobao vehicle and do you think it could actually work on the track? Talking about the VS and SST. I own an sst and I modified it quite a bit. We race on a little private track in a field, nothing professional, but still motivating to make the car faster. I had real problems with on power turns. The car was just not willing to go around the corner. Finally i figured it was the CVD's, they would push the whole steering straight while under power. I made some custom universal joint Driveshafts and it changed the whole truggy big time. Im quite amazed how these little things make such a huge difference. Looking forward to buying a real race buggy! Keep up the good work, greetings from germany. Cheers!

You narrowed down the front end generating a lot of traction/rotation as a result of it's large scrub radius. Can you explain why a large scrub radius generates more traction from the tire? Slip angles?
@chonglers15132 жыл бұрын
Just King Pin Inclination/Steering Axis Inclination my dude. I'm new here so idk if he covered this topic in detail yet, but judging from his jacking video, he is very good at explaining things. For the effect of this for this example, the front two wheels will easily get toe out on braking/deceleration, especially on the side that gets more grip due to its great (positive) scrub radius. The rear on the other hand has a negative scrub radius. This will cause toe out on acceleration, and a slight toe in on engine braking.

In other words, it looks like they designed a buggy for Dakotah to drive... That guy can drive ANYTHING, but I do remember a few years ago that even with his reaction time and driving talent, the car could get ahead of even him sometimes. That said, with the 2.0 now out, I don't know what they did exactly to address this issue, but Dakotah seems to be winning everything with the 8ight-X 2.0 (except World titles, unfortunately😟).

More rear traction. Same as shortening the wheelbase. You can dial steering out but hard to add rear traction.

They've changed these things : front carbon fiber arm inserts (the 8X used plastic ones) , front universals (the 8X had cva's) , aluminum front steering brace (the 8X had the plastic one), +1mm Hexes at the rear (the 8x were standard), carbon fiber center diff mount (the 8x had aluminum one), 3.5mm shock shafts (the 8X had 4mm ones), +10mm wing raiser , polycarbonate spoiler and that's it... I have to admit the car is extremely nervous and very hard to drive with 10k-7k-3k diff oils, 40wt-35wt shock oils . But I guess the car is not very tolerant to low quality tires (which were the ones I was using)...
