@@amandagrant4331 I dare say that it is the same in many western societies because "high flying" investment bankers and lawyers get promoted in Hollywood movies as well as in the society. Young folks dropped out of subjects that would lead them to science and technology for more finance-based subjects. The rewards could be so much better in finance in many cases.

Now almost 2025, you losers pretend to wonder why they're good at making stuff like advanced lithium battery. Duh!

In 2023, the median household income in the United States varied by race and ethnicity as follows: Asian: $112,800 White, not Hispanic: $89,050 Hispanic: $65,540 American Indian and Alaska Native: $57,270 Black: $56,490 "Resistance is futile", said Borg in Star Trek.

a devastating report... China doesn't lead in airliners because the US wont certify. otherwise, BOEING is not a real competitor long term
@turtlesoup8134
@turtlesoup8134 8 күн бұрын
actually, its nothing to do with the certification by the US. China can't even meet the domestic demand. Ramping up aircraft production is very difficult, especially civilian aircraft where there is zero tolerance for any accidents. Once domestic demand is met, then China will slowly revoke boeing and airbus certification, starting with the small planes like the 737 and a321. There will be the day when we need to transfer flight just to change to a certified aircraft flying back and forth from the west and China (and probably russia too in the near future).

lets said consumer need phone so the corporation invest in phone so all the suppliers of components (wire, metal casing, LED, etc) of phone pop up BUT, its cheap to just import, than spend billions in R&D to build up core components, like chip or operating system than to avoid being cut off and hold throat, government decided that if you do R&D, they gonna give you tax cuts... taking that incentives, also for PR purpose, since your hostile enemy is oppressing you with sanctions, you also get boosted image among your own citizen. ofc its dont always work, if your people are too lazy to work for it.

Back when America was strong and had more of a healthy economic growth. America won by out lasting and out growing there competition. Since the economic completion with Japan which saw America force Japan into sign economic concession which ultimately was the tipping point for Japan debt fuel economy. America had been relying on containment instead of outgrowing. Issue now America faces is containment is not working on China like how it did with Japan when Europe essential complied with America. The issue is unlike Japan, China is one of the countries closest to self reliance if push come to shove and the non European market although not as rich as Europe they have gone a long way in development and have yet to maximise there potential economical size. Mean even if America succeed in 100% isolating China that is still not enough not to mention China is the number one trade partner of 90% of the countries in the world and far ahead of America.

China industry policy does pick its winners, but in a different way. For example, CATL, the battery manufacturer and technology company is based in Fujian where Xi was the governor between 99 to 02, raised significantly in 2010s after Xi took the power of CCP. Something likes this happen all the time in China when it comes to big business. This is the problem of this type of reporting. It is condensed in a few minutes let audience feel they know or understand something, but it is very superficial.
