Children are taught from junior highschool that our country sits in a geographically strategic spot, being a bridge for many fauna and flaura as well as a bridge for manh types of people throughout history. We know this and Soekarno knew this. If we are to achieve our "Golden Future" (a sort of policy from the government to reform the country), we will not choose sides. We have chosen once with Soeharto and we will not repeat it again. Not eastern communists, not western capitalists.

Indonesia is ready to be a place where China and USA can have a peaceful constructive talk. We have learnt from past mistakes where our first 2 presidents brought us trouble by violating our own neutrality policy. The first president took us closer to the eastern bloc and as result we had commies who tried to usurp the power and got bvtchered (literally) with millions died or missing or ended up at working camps, the second president wasnt much better as turned completely 180 degree by becoming the western docile dog even went as far as inv^ding Timor Leste to prevent communism. He too ended up in tears as his west masters duped him during the great asia financial crisis. The post reformation presidents have been playing it nicely, they know how to construct working relationship with both East and West, try to make meaningful progress for the peaceful world.

Indonesia has no "neutrality policy", it's foreign policy is "free and active" instead and people often conflate these two things. What Indonesia tries for its own interest is to balance the two superpowers by engaging both sides as you yourself have mentioned but this is not trying to be neutral for neutrality sake.

Also, INDONESIAN FOOD ARE INCREDIBLY CHEAP LMAOOO, to the point that even the poorest can still eat multiple meals per day, you want to see what kind of country that barely able to feed it's population looks like? Look at Yemen, Palestine's Gaza or Subsaharan african countries for reference, not a country full of gastronomic quisines like Indonesia. @@Omar_ZX the standard of poverty in Indonesia is better than 10-20 years ago. Most poor Indonesians are able to afford motorcycle, having handphone/smartphone, and eat 3 times a day.

When you mentioned about English language proficiency, do you actually know what percentage of Indian can actually speak fluent English, not just one word or two words or yes and no. There is much more to it, a lot of Indians in India claim to speak some English can not even string sentence. Number of people actually believe India's claim of being the country with great English proficiency but it is actually a big surprise to learn cities like Hochimin in Vietnam has higher English proficiency rating than India's Dehli. China does invest more in Indonesia and it also import more from Indonesia than the US. What US does export is amount of fear mongering and war mongering.
