Fun Fact: When India Ban TikTok in 2020. After that Instagram that owned by Facebook launched new features reel. Same case with KZbin , KZbin launched shorts. Tiktok is just an app. Why is US spending so much time and resources on tiktok? Just ban it , it's just an app. China banned thousands of apps and websites including tiktok. US can ban whatever they want. Tiktok will make less revenue and profit , but won't collapse without US market.

I’m sorry but I have literally seen content and comments critical of China a million times on TikTok, not sure what you’re on about. As for the algorithm, TikTok themselves have unfortunately very little control over what is pushed on their platform just as Facebook. The real problem with the app as with all social media apps is mental health and other negative effects on health yet you didn’t even mention these at all.

Thank you for making this video and bringing this up. More people need to step up to this issue. Its extremely important to stop tiktok. Users are totally unaware about the problems related to the app, telling its just fun and games. There is absolutely no benefits about using tiktok just a whole bunch of problems. The risks are huge not just security, but societal, cultural and mental. Why does China always get to play their own game in other markets and no one gets to play the game in their markets. We have to wake up.

It doesnt upset me, your just wrong about your core facts. It's owned by a variety of Western based and Capital investors not the CCP (incluidng Otalces 10%}. Majority of ownership is held by NON Chineses Citizens. All US Data is housed in USA and by law not allowed to be exported. The US Gov sets and regulates the content modulation policy. The US Gov has MORE control over TT than you claim the Chinese Gov has.

TT is owned by ByteDance. As a company domiciled in China, ByteDance is subject to China's 2017 National Intelligence Law, which requires companies to cooperate with the CCP's requests. The law compels individuals, organizations, and institutions to assist China's Public Security and State Security offices in their intelligence work. Meaning, they can be asked to spy (and surely are). 3. The 'control' indicated by point 2 is what I am talking about. Who cares how much is owned by General Atlantic and Sequoia Capital. Ultimately, they are not in control. If anything, they should be happy about a forced divestments since that would create liquidity on their investment. 4. While TT complies with baseline content modulation rules around extreme content, the US gov has no ability to influence the general trends and stories that get elevated. That is where TT has a high amount of leverage to influence the US populace.

I largely agree, but not with your remedy. The assumption that any new leaders would ban TikTok is simplistic, naive, and wrong. Trump tried to force TikTok to sell. Biden does nothing now. What we need is Final-Five Voting, which Alaska has implemented. (Actually, AK uses a similar method, final four voting).

The reason why I hate TikTok is because of my past, I used to be TikTok famous with 18.5k followers on the platform. I enjoyed interacting with my fans in livestreams which I absolutely loved… But then EVERYTHING went downhill when multi-streams arrived… I used to chat with this “furry” named Cheyenne and they made me upset with the jokes… I was mad at them because how they upset me TOO much. But as my fans get MUCH worse… When I’m in the same livestream with Cheyenne, a kid named Darkrai_4X4 said “I want to meet you in person” I OUTRAGED so badly that deleted both of my TikTok accounts… FOR GOOD. I hate my fans to this day when the way he said this to me, and now I know that fans… are KILLERS…
