Dude please stop shitting on Russia every single minute. Travel to Moscow and talk to people, let's meet, let's talk, it's safe. Look what it did to Tucker. US doesn't sell weapons to Ukraine to stop Russia from invading other countries in Europe. War machine was never ever ever about that. You don't make peace with weapons. It's like you said "this map looks like this to make some corporations rich". There is no making peace in that. US wanted to put their military in Ukraine and Putin said "no" in his way, like wtf did they expect?! It's the same as Cuba, it's the same as Vietnam etc. Their is no right or wrong side. Nobody will ever win. It's just a money laundering and destruction of a friendly countries. Wanted to help Ukraine? Go back in time 10 years ago and send the same amount of money but not in Lockhead Martin brand, but in John Deere. That would help UA much much more. I love your show and was watching it for a long time. Please don't fall into this one-sided propaganda. I get it, you don't like Russia. But do you really like any politicians really anywhere? This video is about how US sells (not defends, not helps - sells). It's not helping anyone except for the war machine. And as Morty said in last season "Open you mind!". US nation is a great nation, and we wish you the best. Nobody wants to invade you, but that control-military-base in every corner of the world is getting annoying. And please fix your society problems asap - from a side it looks serious and dangerous for the US nation. Americans like to think of everyone wanting to invade everyone. No, most of the world doesn't want that. It's the US has that territorial control thing at a level 1000.

While I appreciate the creativity and effort that goes into the content, they seemed to have more filler than the focused, fact-driven material I’ve come to enjoy. Specifically, I noticed a significant portion dedicated to the brainstorming process rather than delving deep into topics like the map review. I understand and respect that exploring the creative process might appeal to other viewers, especially those interested in video editing. As as American, it is subtly implied that all countries (primarily the most powerful) do the exact same thing such as China. They are all seeking 1. military hegemony 2. financial hegemony 3. cultural hegemony 4. technological hegemony However, if forced to pick which country to have this influence I would much rather have it be a country that values human rights more than less. Being the worlds largest weapons dealer provides some benefits that aren't mentioned in this video: - the ability to withhold support/parts/etc over a country to keep them in line - ability to use money from other countries for R&D and driving down costs (F-35 is a great example) It's also important to note that the decision not to sell weapons to a country doesn't just lose out on the benefits, it also pushes them towards our rivals (Russia, China), giving them those benefits. There are few downsides to selling weapons to other countries. They're just going to buy them elsewhere anyway, giving up the benefits for the US and providing those benefits to Russia/China instead. The real decision is whether or not to sell advanced weapons that can't be obtained from a rival country. Those transactions provide the most benefit in influence/money/etc. Withholding them does have a cost too though, in relations and potential bolstering of competitor programs (imagine Saudi Arabia giving Russia $30b for SU-57s instead of the US F-35).
@IndigoSierra9 ай бұрын
This is something most people overlook. The US only makes up about 35% of global arms trades. European countries like France and Germany also sell and manufacture many weapons. If the US stopped all arms trades immediately, the cut off countries would simply buy from other suppliers.
@sadiqkhawaja70199 ай бұрын
Most of the other manufacturers are also reliant on some US components. Also 35% is a huge amount, especially since some of the most critical parts are US based, certain radars, missiles etc
@hector6659 ай бұрын
Lol, " only 35%" that's more than one third of production for the entire world.
@IndigoSierra9 ай бұрын
@@sadiqkhawaja7019 35% is a lot, yes, but the video makes it seem as if America is the sole distributor, when that is simply not the case. America stopping all arms exports to other countries would simply cause other countries/companies to pick up the slack, returning us to square one. Taking out a major provider will not solve the underlying issue. If AT&T dissolved, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others would fill the hole AT&T left. The only way to stop international arms trades would be to outlaw it. This would never be written into international law, and even if it did it would not stop countries from aquiring weapons. They could either produce arms domestically or purchase them on the newly booming black market. And some countries wouldn't respect these international laws (China, North Korea, Russia, ect) and create an imbalance of power as a result. Imagine if Ukraine wasn't allowed to receive foreign military aid. Eastern Europe would have very little military strength of it were not for foreign arms deals. And what do you think Russia would do next with the pitifully weak Eastern European countries?

Johnny, if you''re interested in the evolution of warfare there was a book released last year by Jason Lowery called Softwar. The government had it removed from production, so it might be hard to get your hands on. You can find some of his youtube videos to get a sense of what he is talking about in terms of the evolution of warfare. As we evolve deeper into the digital domain, we need a way to project power through cyberspace in order to keep the balance in the cost/benefit of attack calculation. As we find modern ways to project power in these new domains (digital, space, etc.), we will learn to evolve the battles so they benefit the world rather than destroy it. For example, moving from an environment of mutual annihilation to one that incentivizes mutual cooperation (you get more when you cooperate with others, rather than take what is theirs). I think you'd enjoy hearing his full thesis because I feel it follows onward from where this video ends. Always great content you're producing. Thank you for it

Johnny on Saudi: using weapons on civilians Johnny on Israel: the US doesn't approve of how they conduct themselves Great Journalism.
@kennethgondwe55346 ай бұрын
Urban warfare will always have large numbers of civilian casualties. Many civilians were killed in Iraq when fighting moved from the deserts and went into the streets. I don't believe that Israel is deliberately targeting civilians in Gazar or that saudi arabia was deliberately targeting civilians in yemen because if this were the case then the civilian deaths would be many times higher. Having said this i must also say that i do not support any war or voilence no what form or shape it may take.

Yemen is a vast area where civilians (those not held by the Houthis) can escape the fighting, unlike Gaza where the territory is small, the population is huge and Hamas or other organizations are within the civilian population

You missed some of the other most important reasons for selling weapons. 1. The more we sell, the more affordable the platform for the US military. For instance the f35 program is dependent on our allies buying planes to lower the cost of the entire program. 2. By keeping other companies dependent on us for weapons, we are preventing Russia and China from supplies those weapons to the same countries, making those countries dependent on Russia and China. We are denying Russia and China weapons sales. 3. Buy selling weapons platforms around the world, we create a worldwide inventory of parts and ammunition. This is useful when we need them and reduces the stockpile that is kept inside the US. 4. Our security depends on keeping military factories running. If we have to go to war, we can’t then decide to start up factories, hire workers, and start producing weapons. These supply chains have to stay somewhat active. By supplying other countries, our military supply chains can stay “warm” and able to respond if we need them. You made a lot of leaps and assumptions in your video to back up the narrative you wanted to share. There are many things you could’ve done to present a less biased video.

The way you directed the narrative of this documentary, I have sufficient reason to believe that you are an American. If I am right, I am happy to see an American transparently and biaslessly analysing a real world fact/problem. One usually gets a deep understanding of unusual real topics from your documentaries that are hard to get anywhere otherwise, especially in an era of a more biased media offering more propaganda than news. I look to being an audience to your videos and you have my best wishes for all your fruitful (and maybe sometime less fruitful) efforts but I would be happy to see similar informative, well researched and well analysed unbiased content on your channel, Thank you dear friend, keep going👍

Eisenhower: "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." "This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."

I am a senior analyst in this industry, and I feel compelled to inform viewers this analysis and “subjective estimating” was poorly performed. This is rather unprofessional and would not hold much water with most in Washington, let alone other governments. This is garbage “investigative” reporting, and industry standards sources are not cited. Do your homework next time. If you want to make clickbait, take notes from darker corners of the internet. Your sponsors should be embarrassed for funding this type of smooth brain behavior.

The author argues that unusual decisions about who to sell weapons to lead to the conclusion that the primary reason for arms contracts is not the safety of the citizens of your own and friendly countries, but money. For example, American weapons are used to fight opposite sides of conflicts. For example, Turkey fights with American weapons in Syria against rebels supported by the United States, who also in turn fight with American weapons. That logic doesn't really work for me. So the US made $238 billion dollars on arms exports in 2023, while the US GDP is almost $27 trillion. I think the US economy wouldn't collapse if some or even all of the arms sales didn't take place. Sometimes to get allies before your adversaries (China, Iran, DPRK, Putin's Russia, etc.) get them, you have to turn a blind eye to their imperfections and cooperate with them. But that's geopolitics. What about the shareholders of the arms companies? I should point out that the enormous profits from the arms trade are greatly exaggerated. Of the major arms manufacturers, only Boeing #60 and that's because their main products are civilian and Lockheed Martin #62 (the world's largest arms manufacturer) are in the US top 100. Conclusion: if you really want to get rich as fast as possible, it's much smarter to invest in financial services, IT, restaurant chains, etc. than in weapons manufacturing. In doing so, you would avoid accusations of cannibalism from the leftist press. Perhaps there is also a non-material motive involved in your decision to manufacture and develop weapons. Perhaps you want the good guys to be more prepared for conflict than the bad guys.

When it comes to the weapons trade, the most relevant questions are as follows: To what extent is the weapons supplier responsible for how sold weapons are used against the preconditions in principle? How can the responsibility for weapons used be divided among those who sell them and those who use them?

Really enjoyed the conclusions you drew in this video. The close ties between the massivly wealthy military industrial complex and the government make it easy to hide and misconstrue the intentions behind backing conflicts and selling weapons. Seeing how these videos were sparked from an old book, I'd recommend state and revolution by Lenin, I think his analysis of the state apparatus and its functions in the lives of the people would be another great starting point for your journalistic approach to current world affairs.
