The Witcher season 4 firt look just dropped...and wow is it bad. This video covers teh ups and downs of the witcher series starting with the books, by Andrzej Sapkowski, then the video games by CD Projekt Red, and then finally, the Netflix original series starring Henry Cavill.
Why did Cavill leave? ANd is there any hope for the witcher season 4 going forward?

Just like how I mentioned when I posted about this on the guild, I find it will be disappointing as the storyline will be so different and fingers crossed Liam does a good job otherwise there could be chaos wrath of the fans to deal with 😂

I'm genuinely happy netflix pulled the plug because they've already showed us that don't deserve to be at the reigns financially or creatively in regards to Sapkowski's works. Netflix witcher is a disgrace to Sapkowski's work, and CDPRs for that matter.

It failed because they had people that hated both the books and the games running things... Recipe for disaster. There I saved everyone nine minutes.

Gotta be honest, the best part of Netflix Witcher for me has been Joey Batey as Jaskier. Best continuously developing character and an amazing actor. I'm going to miss his and Henry's dynamic. 💔

Perfect example of what you’re saying. When Roach died the show runners wanted Cavill to make some Marvell/CW style one liner joke about it. He refused until they got mad enough to say screw it do what you want and he made up all of the lines on the spot. One of the best scenes in the whole series. He knows what Roach means to Geralt.

Yay! Just found this channel. Agree with everything you said. Henry Cavill in season 1 gave me hope for Season 2 because he clearly worked incredibly hard to bring Geralt to life. When I heard the writers tried to make the death of Roach a joke, I was done with giving them the benefit of the doubt. It would be great to get a breakdown of some good adaptations. Maybe how Mike Flanagan has taken older stories and adapted and modernised the themes? Or his work on Dr Sleep - blending the cinematic with the novel?

Show's writing and story construction is very subper. that is very obvious. and the the focus was more on other characters that Geralt from the beginning. And Henry did a good job portraying a version of Geralt. But when people say He is the savior, champion of source material i am not so sue about that. He didn't even know there is a source material (Book) before talking to witcher show runner. He didn't even play the DLC's of witcher 3 ( An avid witcher fan cannot but play them). His departure may be because his role got marginalized. as a prominent Movie star that is not acceptable. His salary demand may be too high. and that time he got another chance to be superman. So there is that

​@@TheStorytellersGuild1They are. After the remake of the first game, and if I remember correctly, they are already working on it. Parttime. I think the remake is to learn unreal engine 5 before they fully jump onto part 4. A good decision imho.

For me S1 was an 8, but S2 was a 4... Not only was it barely entertaining but the show writers thought they were better writers than Sapkowski!!! The hubris man, they butchered the original story. Needless to say, I didn't watch S3 nor will I watch S4, even if I have fully played the whole trilogy and also read the first 2 books. Witcher 3 is also one of my favorite games ever, I won't give Netflix any views for that dumpster fire of a show.
