I agree with all of your points. Another reason the homeless wouldn't be in the Everglades is they wouldn't have any food giveaways or free meals. No big towns near the Everglades. Showering would be so difficult.

@@jared9962 the people that do live out n the Everglades get very well taken care of they have a nice lil set up ! Sell beautiful home made jewelry etc.. plenty of free meals etc.. the awesome everything shop store and camp ground cook outs always takes care of their own, plenty of nice clean showers etc!! a lady with the one and only pink airboat rides in and collects, receives, all needs for the people ☺️☺️☺️

When you mentioned living on a mangrove shell mound. I immediately was reminded of the book Totch: A Life in the Everglades. A Gladesman and a drug smuggler. He lived in the mangrove islands of the Everglades. For most of his life off of subsistence fishing and trade pelts and skins. It is a really good read if you are interested in the people who have lived in the Everglades. Another book I recommend is Gladesmen: Gator Hunters, Moonshiners, and Skiffers. Glenn Simmons another Gladesman who lived in Homestead and Flamingo Florida in early 20th century.

The only reason that the Everglades has no homeless people is because there is no resources out there. Why would a homeless person be in the middle of nowhere where they can’t find no food just stop and think about that. It’s not the animal is not the environment it’s there is no resources There barely any stores there’s nobody to panhandle they’re going to ask the alligators for money or are they going to eat the bears? That’s the only reason there is no homeless people in the Everglades no resources to survive. It’s not the environment for the elements.

My friend and i were sitting in the middle of an as yet built upon street in Port Charlotte. There were endless miles of these neighborhoods paved with names but no houses. Anyway, we were sitting there talking and i jumped up to get in the car and a panther had been creeping up on us. Had i not stood when i did it would have pounced because it was in that position. We thought this very cool and turned it into our high school party street. We had bonfires and named it Mars.

Literally, the Everglades are not easily accessible. Beyond that, the bugs would drive anyone crazy. Vegetation is extremely thick in most places. Also, pythons are expert hiders. Very difficult for humans to find them. You need trained dogs to sniff out holes.

Awesome click title wtg! So update from methville Florida My idea and my sons research we got the smoking gun why this situation is persisting ! Research a Red Card for fire chiefs Turns out he issued himself one that gained the legal ability to produce this red phosphorus and bromine! So case closed Not really but solved by us ! So last spoke to sheriffs told don’t call anymore Last night got chased into woods falling 3 times my dog by my side as my only help. I ducked under my barbed wire then under another I placed as this situation flared up literally when he was chief Might be way he was surrounded by 12 law enforcement vehicles when chief . So chiefs still across the street Red phosphorus tanks are in operation As I research the Red Card license the dof issued from Dea gives him legal ability to do so and the ability for the corrupt government to overlook it. So there you go Almost shot dead Found license being misused illegally So if ya want this stir hurry I might not be alive another week

I’d love to visit the Everglades for sure, it’s a beautiful area in terms of geography, and has nice weather year round( I’m Puerto Rican so I’m used to the tropical weather), and animals only seen in the tropics; but living there is another situation. Unless you’re used to Literally living off the land, and used to basic necessities; it ain’t for everyone that’s for sure. Believe me though, I know people who can actually survive there for real( not joking); my grandpa could probably live there in a shed(he’s what you’d call a Jibaro del Campo , so basic survival skills ain’t an issue for people like him, trust me).
