Hello again people in this video we are going to talk about why indie games are taking the industry by storm and what this means for the future of gaming.
The overall goal of this video is to analyze the affects of mismanagement during the video game making process and argue how it is a more common problem on the triple A level. I understand that this conversation is nothing new; but I might be able to peek your interest by proposing a prediction for how making video games will change in the near future. Over the course of this video I will be comparing and contrasting games of varying sizes with each comparison sharing multiple themes. Most of these comparisons will feature the indie game being made and sold for less money and is either more loved or overall better than the compared big budget game. Keep in mind while the compared games may be completely different the overall point of the comparison is to contrast how they were made.
Before we begin please be aware that I am biased when it comes to this discussion. I prefer indie games to AAA for my own reasons and these reasons are why I made this video. Despite my bias please understand that I will highlight the advantages of making games at the AAA level to remain as fair as possible. I do not want this video to sound too one sided or to come off as taking the stance that AAA games are ALWAYS worse than indie. There are obvious pros and cons to both and truly if anything, this videos intended goal is to perhaps isolate the internal issues within the AAA gaming industry itself so they may not be repeated and we begin to receive better AAA games as a result. At least one could hope.

One exemple of the damage the CEOs and investors do to the production of a game is how Valve, (a AAA publisher) generally makes good and passionate games; That's because there's no one in their ear holding the developers back Gabe is the owner, not CEO, so he can do whatever he wants. Also, one of my favorite games, Outer Wilds, is an indie game published by Anapurna; It is VERY niche, to the point that most people either love or can't play at all, but it built a strong comunity. That's basicaly the oposite of a normal AAA

I have an idea for a game, and i have been trying to figure out how to make it all year. I want to make something that's worthy of being called art, that pushes the medium forward and create a story that could only be told by a game. I don't know if its any good, i don't know if anyone will like it, i don't know if I am skilled enough to make it, all i know is that i have to make it. I think that analogy of raising a child is honestly perfect for how i'm feeling thank you for this video, this was very inspiring

Gonna make a prediction here, but I feel like part of the conclusion will be that indie games perform better is because they don't have rushed deadlines they need to meet.

You are, kind of correct. That's absolutely a part of it; but really I'm not even saying that Indie Games perform better all the time. (Definitely more widely loved). AAA still makes more money and sells more copies on average because of different factors. One thing I want to get across with this video is that it's a multitude of things that is causing this change. Hope you enjoy it when it comes out.

This is an excellent video, and I can feel your style evolving. However; in the short period where you compare Anthem to Undertale, I was feeling like that was a poor comparison for a number of reasons. However, just to cut them short, I would have compared the development of Anthem to the development of Hades, as that feels like a much closer situation to each other than the development of undertale.
