Great to finally have longer length videos and what a way to start! Bittersweet viewing for a 987.2 owner, this is the car that started it all.

After scrolling through your Videos days on end on IG, it's nice to see that you have started with KZbin! The Boxter is definitely underrated and doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. Great Video overall, can't wait for the next one!!

Labours of love rarely make financial sense, but when a car endears itself to you in the way that you say that this Boxster has, you have to look past the money and into your heart. It's like your family pet, in a way. If your dog gets sick, you could replace it for a few dollars, or perhaps even for free, but instead you happily pay far more to the veterinarian to nurse your best friend back to health so you can enjoy many more years together. This Boxster is that dog. Don't put it down. Great first video, by the way. Thanks to the algorithm for the suggestion. Subscribed.

One of my favorite videos ever, I’m glad KZbin recommended it. My first car was a 2.5 in the same shade of silver with a 5 speed. It will forever hold a special place in my heart and even after all these years and driving many other cars, this thing still remains at the top of the most satisfying driving experiences ever to own/drive. Earned a sub for sure.

Great first video! Just bought my first boxster, 986 2.7 liter like yours. 86k miles and only a few issues so far (coolant pump leak, RMS, both slow), so hoping it has a good bit of life in her! Really is an amazing car, my first manual as well (American). May yours rest in peace.

So glad you finally made a review on KZbin ! Amazing job I love the tone and the stories you shared about how special THIS 986 is special to you. That’s the kind of car reviews I wish were more present on KZbin. I’ve been a long time follower of your insta page (we’ve even met at Le Mans Classic a couple years ago), can’t wait to see what you have prepared next for us petrolheads over here on your channel

Great premier. One tiny point, is the narration a little faster than the Ig TT videos? Your voice seems a little higher and speaking a little quicker. The calm gentle style of your voice over is a trademark worth keeping. Could be my old ears. Many thanks Michal.

Awesome video - start of something special here - keep down to earth and you’ll fly. Still seems terrible it’s being scrapped - experience tells me there’s always a better value option to fix up/keep going a car like this and values will rise. The issue is if everything gets left over time, when items should be fixed and the overall cost becomes scary. I bet if this was put away for 12-24 months you’d be getting it back to the road?

I think the Boxster is a perfect Porsche, from the beginning they will teach you how to be a better driver, take care of the car among other things... I've never driven a Boxster, but I hope to drive one soon... It's sad to be the end of this Boxster, but its purpose was carried out successfully! Btw another great video Mike! 👏

They are severely underrated. I bought one for cheap and have spent far more than the value of the car getting it back to good condition. Lots of little niggles that just come with age and some boxster woes but it really is the best value for money. I do find the front end a little floaty/light though. That flat 6 just sounds glorious, the intake behind the ear is magnificent.

Man this has all the marque’s of peak top gear car segments but with a nice and refreshing bit of extra flare and a bit more factuality, top drawer!!!
@RzogL12 сағат бұрын
If the chassis is intact and the engine hasn't reached the point where it needs a rebuild to avoid catastrophic failure, it would be a shame to break a runner like this one for spares. Mine's a Meridian Metallic 3.2 manual on 155k. Over the years I have spent multiples of what the car is worth in upgrades and repairs, knowing full well that doing so is "uneconomical". Call it a "rolling restoration" which provides a true Porsche experience on the right day on the right road, if all the necessary bits are working. You could just remove your faulty roof mechasism and raise or lower it manually, MX-5 style, until the funds are ever there to do a full repair.

Have owned a boxster and 3 Mx-5s……price independent they are a formidable alternative…..boxster is better in some fairly obvious ways but the Mx-5 is much more playful and flingable. If you want to consider “value”, it’s not even close. The Mx-5 feels almost free in comparison to buy and run.

986 is a great car but a 2.7 is just too slow at 0 to 60 in 6.5. The 2.7 is under powered. The car is too heavy & too much of a tourer rather than a real sportscar.
