Notes: Focus and Attention NOT Time Management. Time isn't what we want to manage, we want to manage our attention. The human ability to measure time is inaccurate, when u don't finish a task, it can ruin your whole day, hence why time management is ineffective. Instead of your 30 mins journey to school, say 30 mins of podcast. What you do with ur time is choosen, what u do with your attention is up to you. Ask yourself, where can I direct my attention next? Mobilise the dead space. You get better and better at being more focused. Your objective isn't to fill the time, but to finishing activities.
@LeeTaeyong-p4b11 ай бұрын
Exactly! Except I took that ur supposed to focus on getting better at focusing so u can be more productive overall
@adonanglon5290 Жыл бұрын
I have to say, I never thought about how much time ruled over my day. I tried to follow my schedule, but often times had many unfinished tasks throughout the day simply to stay on track with what was planned. This is definitely going to be a new way of thinking about productivity and I am excited to see how this turns out!
@polobank44092 жыл бұрын
The more I watch your videos the more I feel how much meaningful our each activity can get rather than putting hard works into one activity. U make it seem so easy and ofc it's all about getting things done and moving with the flow! Being rigid with a morning to night routine is bs.

I am glad that I have discovered your channel. As the conventional Time management that says if I haven't finished certain tasks within certain amount of time, I automatically ended up in the well of demotivation and would eventually question my ability to accomplish certain tasks and further hurting my self esteem. Like this over a long period of time it is easier to kill your life without actually being dead.

This point of view is terrific. I am struggling with time management. What invariably happens is that my actual activities deviate from my plan. I hope this technique of attention management is helpful. What I should keep in mind is "where is my attention and where should my attention be". I think this would keep me focus on the most important things in my life.

There are some points that I can't comprehend. You said, with managing your focus and attention you can get a lot of things done at work, for example in the elevator or stairwell, walking from and to places. But you mean what kinds of tasks? I can't imagine anything except listening some podcasts or maybe audiobooks etc in these kind of situations
@MrDjhealth11 ай бұрын
What he is referring to is time maximization. Focus on getting the most important tasks DONE and minimizing busy work and activities that doesn't really accomplish anything for the day all while respecting channel capacity .

I came to say this. His advice is basically "Notice when you are not focusing on anything productive, then fix that." ADHD can make you hyper-focus or easily-distracted, so you don't even notice that you're super-hungry or super-tired. If you can't notice your most basic human instincts, how can you notice if you're productive or not? I literally just use an app that chimes every 30min as a reminder in case I'm distracted.

don't you get overvelmed with constant attention calibration during the day? Personally I'm hyper controlling person( in life, at work, everywhere) and because of that i experienced burnout some time ago. Books recommended me to just "feel the moment" , "meditate and think about nothing", etc. Did you experienced such a thing? And do you believe in meditation and benefits of thinking about nothing?
@beakless_duck2 жыл бұрын
Meditation isn't really about "thinking about nothing". The statement of "feeling the moment" is a little more accurate. If you want to know his thoughts on meditation, I recommend you watch the Bigger Plate episode on "Focus Training"

Try Insight Timer. It has plenty of guided meditation. I do body scans and breath focused meditations, but there are many kinds of meditation. If you find guided body scans and/or breath meditations, you will learn how to do it without a guide. It's quite easy, focus your attention on your body, and whenever a thought comes, you feel an emotion, or when you realize you are lost in thought, you notice that, accept it and gently turn your attention to the body again (in body scan you scan the body, e.g. you start on your foot and end on your head; in breath meditations u focus on the sensations of breathing). There is no failed or successful sessions - some days our mind is more agitated than others, but the training consists of noticing the distraction, accepting it and then deliberately turning your attention to the body. It doesn't matter how many times, or for how long, you get distracted...

Considering the concept of efficiency, I believe that multitasking is a modern myth. I know that when I am completely focused on one task, I get into a state of Flow and become extremely efficient in what I am doing. A good example is my being a Front End Supervisor at a crazy department store that I work in. One of the managers wanted me to put clothing on hangers while I attempted to take care of customers while ringing up and and doing returns, etc.... I told her that the American Psychological Association says that there is no such thing as multi tasking....it is a modern myth. What ate your thoughts??? The way I see it is, the so called multitasking is actually counter productive and leads one to get ADHD and harms the brain. Any thoughts on this??? Thank you for your help. Miss Monique 🙂🙏💗
