Without getting into the main character or plot armor argument, I feel like the article was headed in the right directions, but missed marks. Revised list: 1. More diverse training (as the video mentions): He trained with Grandpa Gohan, Master Roshi, Koran, Kami, King Kai, Yardrat, Grand Kai, and Whis. 2A. Spirituality - I know this one is like BS to some people. But, KI energy is a heavily spiritual force. Which was a theme in Dragon Ball and Journey to the West. One becomes more powerful through their spirit energy. 2B. Life After Death - Goku was still training, after he died, twice. I guess you can infer that his spirituality grew in the afterlife. He has god-like beings training him. 4. Goku's an adrenaline junkie (duelist/soldier answer)- Which is like getting high, but instead of drugs...his high comes from fighting. But, this could be said for Saiyans in general. But, judging from the other Saiyans in the series, he may be more obsessive than the most others. 4. Fighting for a cause or others (Selflessness answer and ) - From its inception, Goku has fought for his family and friends, even the world. Many times, he's fought for something bigger than himself. Vegeta was not that kind of character til much later.

One point I think you missed in the talent part, on Yardrat, they even said Vegeta was more talented than Goku. Vegeta learned a lot faster than Goku. This was in the early parts of chapter 55. "Mm, wonderful spirit power. Your spirit power is now more polished than Goku's and you managed it in no time" "Of course. Kakarot and I are not cut from the same cloth" Edit: This is pretty funny. I can take something from the manga word for word and people will still try to argue it with conjecture. This is great.

But this is taking what someone else has said/thought/argued and breaking down the pros and cons (rights and wrongs) of it in a fair manner. I wasn't expecting that. @@SoundWave3214 Goku achieves the grade 2 form super vegeta uses, then says something along the lines of "I can ramp it up another notch, too." Then goes into Trunks grade 3 form. He then concludes that truly mastering the basic form of super saiyan is a better option than either, as BOTH grades are too draining to maintain and limiting with the increased size. (though obviously far more drastically so with grade 3 than 2.) Grade 2 is increasing size to increase power at the expense of stamina and versatility, grade 3 is that carried on to an extreme. Vegeta makes the same compromise Trunks does, just not to a foolish degree.

It basically boils down to personality Goku is more open-minded and optimistic as Vegeta is more grounded and realistic. A good comparison would be Naruto and Sasuke, as they share similar potentials but they approach them differently, same as Goku and Vegeta but the difference with Vegeta is that Vegeta has started to understand Goku's approach and he now incorporates it into his own approach

This typic was already talked about in the series. Vegeta is very skilled fighter, but Goku is a martial art genius. Vegeta has surpass Goku at times. However, it doesn't last long. Whenever Goku losses a fight, Goku will learn from it and push himself further. Vegeta losing a fight will hurt his ego and takes a longer time for Vegeta to get over it.

Vegeta is a secondary character so it’ll never happen (Other than temporarily). He’s my favourite character so I would love for him to get his time in the lime light and be the one to actually defeat the main villain but it won’t ever happen. In universe i think it won’t ever happen because Goku is the second coming of the Legendary Super Saiyan (unless you count the Broly film as cannon)

Does no one see what they are doing??? They are setting up Goku and Vageta To have different skill sets that are equal situationally in certain situations. It’s the wizard Vs warlock type scenario in games they have different masteries with their fighting styles just like any skilled martial artist. Forget just basic power scaling using ultra instinct as an example; it’s a God teir ability! It’s the only thing that let Goku beat Jearen. Power scaling was meaningless. Forced spirit fission is another counter ability to Moro’s magic. If anything Akira Toriyama is allowing both of them to specialize in their own paths of mastery just like end game mmorpg’s . Put power levels aside until we start talking the Z fighters Vs raw power level opponents

Theory!!! I always thought the reason that Goku was the strongest and would always surpass everyone else is because of his training with King Kai (technically already having divine training) and the use of the Kio Ken (a divine technique) which he learned from King Kai? Vegeta never got training from a god till Whis and then started to tap into god ki but I think because goku already had a small amount he has been able to master all the super saiyan forms a lot easier then anyone else and is able to grow stronger a lot faster then Vegeta until he started to get training from Whis. Last point is Gohan and since he had his potential unlocked by the Old Kai he is able to grow his power a lot faster in super! Just my thoughts let me know if you agree or (most likely) if I'm well off 😀 Great channel and please keep up the great content

At least based on the ToP, I'd say Goku is more into strategy. I was really surprised by a bunch of tricky technics he had used all over the battle royal. Meanwhile Vegeta is the one who knocked off the arena the most fighters out of no mercy. Still didn't see much of him in terms of creativity to fight.

Remember the one while fighting with Jiren in blue before MUI, how he kept a bunch of "kienzans" (Krillin's technique) hidden, brought Jiren into a wrecked tip of the Arena making him believe he had advantage and the last shot against Goku, and then cut that tip with those kienzans, dodged Jiren's shot teleporting behind him and kicked him off the arena. That was strategy! Isn't that "pre-planned"? and also what I mean by being creative as a martial artist. Could name many other cases from Goku.

Goku uses strategy in his fights but his type of strategy is based on ingenuity whereas Vegeta's is tactical. I don't have time for this so I'll keep this short. Saiyajin Earth Saga: #1. Learned a technique to create an artificial moon so he can transform into great ape form. He had that in his back pocket in case he ran into an opponent stronger than him. #2. Use Destructo Disk to cut off Gohan's tail. Namek Saga: #1. Keeping the Dragon Balls away from Freiza by throwing them around throughout Namek. #2. Allying with Krillian and Gohan. Better chance of survival to defeat Freiza. #3. Letting Krillain mortally wound him for Zenkia Boost. Android Saga: #1. Letting Android 19 absorb him so he can get in close enough to rip off hands. #2. Room of Spirit and Time, he like Goku already knew that SSJ grade 3 was pointless. So he strategically made a new form "Super Vegeta" that would conserve stamina and maintain speed to fight Cell. Buu Saga: #1. Buys Goku time. This is more so guts than strategy. It was obvious he had to give Goku time for the Spirit Bomb. #2. Dragon Ball Strategy to get Goku all of the power he needed for the Spirit Bomb, plus restore Goku's power. Battle of the Gods: #1. Smart enough not to piss off Beerus or try to fight him. In fact... he made him food. Laugh at this all you want, if he didn't do this; the earth would have been destroyed before Goku got there for plot armor. To be honest, BOG doesn't even count for either of them. The whole movie and arc is a plot device. The Revival of Freiza: #1. Really... Whis literately tells you that Vegeta thinks too much. Goku rarely does, he mostly reacts. This is where most of Goku's ingenuity comes from. I'm not saying Goku doesn't use strategy, I'm saying that is not his strong point. A lot of what he does is on the fly which is why Ultra Instinct works for him but Vegeta, on the other hand, pre-plans everything. As Whis says... he thinks "too much". U7 vs. U6: #1. Just got rid of Frost. Sometimes simple strategies work the best. #2. Look at Vegeta's entire fight with Metal man. Once again, I'm not saying Goku doesn't have any strategy, I'm saying most of his come from ingenuity. Goku Black Arc: (Nothing for both of them) TOP: #1. Vegeta tells Goku and Gohan that if they jump the fused robot they will win easily. (very unlike Vegeta to take this strategy but hey, their universe is at risk) To give Goku credit, he and Vegeta both strategized to buy Gohan time for a full power Kahmahamaha. #2. Put's Blue Evolution energy gloves on so he can attack through G.O.D. Toppo's Hakai balls. (Talk about strategy) #3. Vegeta vs. G.O.D. Toppo, tell's him that he's going to output more power than he can destroy to defeat Toppo. #4. Goads Jiren's pride in his strength to take the Final Flash. (just like Perfect Cell) #5. Vegeta ties Bottomo's hand and lifts him up to throw him off. Again... simple strategy. Moro Arc: #1. Zero strategies here for Goku. Just MUI plot. Anyway, Vegeta learns Forced Spirit Fission and uses it against Moro. Uses it to push out the Crystal, uses Forced Spirit Fusion to power Goku up to use MUI to beat Moro. None of these examples matter though. The point is Goku works more off of ingenuity for his strategies than tactical. That's not a knock at Goku, that's just what it is. Goku reacts to things a lot more than he thinks them out. Vegeta thinks them out more than he reacts. Like... why was this a discussion?

You know what, this is why I'm about done with this fandom. It's like a never ending pissing contest, to see who can shoot farther.....and NOBODY is ever satisfied with the answer, regardless of who it is. At present, Goku is.....IS the strongest character, that's not Beerus, Whis, or Zeno, followed by Vegeta until he finds something that can surpass Mastered Ultra Instinct, something he has not done yet. Its never been a pissing contest really. There's never been a point in which Vegeta surpassing Goku was of any significance. And any relevant transformation or power up will most likely always go to Goku. You have to realize that Toriyama's influence on Dragon Ball is still going strong. So if something more powerful then Mastered Ultra Instinct shows up it will most likely go to Goku.

Key point "VEGETA AND GOKU WILL ALWAYS CHALLENGE EACH OTHER AND SURPASS ONE ANOTHER" going forward what will Vegeta do now? There is clearly a gap in power between Goku and Vegeta...will Vegeta train with Whis? To get his OWN VERSION of UI? Will he seek to expand his Sayian powers to rival MUI? will we see a Saiyan 4 form from Vegeta? With MUI Goku if he's so untouchable, what villians are left that will be make Dragonball Super enjoyable? bad Angels? Demons, Dragons? What will Vegeta due now since apparently MUI GOKU cant be beaten supposedly........

What are your thoughts on a siren style power up for vegeta? I kinda like the idea of him not learning ultra Instinct, but being able to just output enough brute force to be able to fight on par with UI. There actually seems to be more similarities between jiren and vegeta, so that could make for some fun character development. They compliment each other in a way similar to hit compliments goku.

Goku has a different kind of love for training and fighting than Vegeta. When someone is truly passionate about something, improving stops becoming work, and becomes play. This is true in real life too. The grandmasters of their artform love it so much that it never feels like a chore. They can do what they love for hours and hours. Their motivation is not to prove, but to improve for the sake of the love for that thing. Vegeta does love being strong and fighting, but I feel like its a different type of love, and the motivations are different.
