Because Disney relied on social politics instead of writing and there came a point when they realized how bad their show was so they put in iconic characters who don't even exist in the timeline in order to try to draw some kind of applause.

Who cares? This show was so awful and had almost no reasonable storytelling. Since Disney rewrites the already existing stories it is hard to tell if this short scene had any meaning. Let’s just hope that there will be no season 2.
