I think it's safe to say 2002-2004 SmackDown is the best era in the shows era. You had Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, All those guys had awesome stories and matches. The midcard scene featured entertaining matches between the likes of Chris Benoit and John Cena. The Cruiserweight and Tag Divisions were pretty stacked and when you add that all together. You get a very tremendous wrestling show. This run saw the rise of John Cena, Rey Mysterio became one of the biggest names in wrestling, Brock Lesnar was destroying everyone in sight, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit were putting on clinics, Jamie Noble was doing whatever with Nidia, It was fun. In this video, I cover the Paul Heyman/Stephanie McMahon era of SmackDown from July of 2002 all the way to March of 2004. If you enjoyed this video then make sure you like, share and subscribe!

As you may know. The video was intended for yesterday. Plan didn't come to fruition but here it is. I personally think it's the best era of SmackDown because of the versatile roster. The feuds and matches were awesome and obviously there's some bad, but the good definitely outweighs the bad. I think I'll go with Raw 04-05 next. What did you think of SmackDown 02-04?

Raw 03 was fire 🔥 because of Kane pun intended if you do Raw start from 03 to 05 because Kane lit that show up in 03. He unmasked himself, set Jr on Fire 🔥 tombstoned Linda McMahon on the raw stage, his whole rivalry with Shane McMahon was the fucking shit🤘 then his rivalry with Matt Hardy and Lita in 04 was good shit too. Kane from 03 to 05 deserves his own video or you can do Kane from 02 to 05 i say 02 because of the Katie Vick situation but that's up to you. But definitely do Raw 03 to 05 because at the same time Stone Cold Steve Austin was fucking hilarious as co general manager in 03 then the sherif of raw in late 03 into 04. Think about it 03 Raw had some really good shit because of Stone Cold and Kane hands down and if anyone disagrees then their fucked in the head. But I will agree that SmackDown!👊 Was the A show during the Ruthless Agression Ara at that time. Let me know what you think sorry for making this comment too long I just love this era of SmackDown!👊 as much as you do. Plus I love your video's I can tell your a real and true die hard WWE fan like myself. Maybe you need your own show on the WWE Network lol hope all is well

I was pissed that WWE didn't bring up or mention Brock and Takers rivalry in 02 and 03 when they restarted started up again at WM30 through 2014. It's like they've met in Hell In A Cell before and had a rivalry before and WWE acted like it never happened or existed smfh. Personally in my opinion I think it was better in 02 and 03. Smackdown in 2002 - 2004 was the best era ever because it had a star studded roster, all of the talent was showcased to the fullest and provided ppv quality matches for TV on a weekly basis. The peak of the show for me was the Smackdown six when they were constantly tearing the house down every single week. I was such a big fan of the show and followed it so much to the point that I almost forgot that Raw even existed. Those guys helped make the blue brand can't miss TV and along with Brock Lesnar, Undertaker and the cruiserweight division, it was a true team effort where everyone got good exposure unlike Raw which was pretty much buried by Triple H's reign of terror. For me, it's still to this day, the show's golden age

The wrestling and storylines were much better on smackdown than in raw. On raw, it was pretty much just HHH and Evolution beating everyone. The storylines on smackdown just felt more legit and made more sense. Another thing to mention and why I think things were much better back then was because the stars still felt unique compared to how it is now. We have lots of Benoit and Eddie type wrestlers but it was so much easier to get behind those two because they were some of the very few like them at the time and therefore, shined a lot more. They were still unique.

Eddie for Jericho itself is about an even trade as is Jericho for Benoit. I do put Jericho now as a better legacy but Eddie's & Benoit's early deaths did limit their legacies especially hurting Benoit's. Jericho has even stated that he was unhappy getting traded to Raw as he loved what SD was doing and Raw was the HHH show with the infamous Reign of Terror. Heyman at the helm with guys like: Brock, Angle, Big Show, Taker, Benoit, Bradshaw/JBL, Eddie, Edge, Chavo, & Rey was a dream scenario any wrestling fan would love.

I wonder how things would turn out if Eddie and Benoit were on RAW. They probably wouldn’t have succeeded as much. It sucks that before anybody knew it, Eddie and Benoit weren’t going to be around for that long after and there wasn’t really stopping it. Wrestling really changed afterwards happened to them. Really wished Jericho was on smackdown around that time as well.

@Deathpool_04
@Deathpool_04 3 жыл бұрын
Christopher Ballero Thats what I was thinking. With hhh there and evolution as well, they wouldn’t have succeeded as much. Benoit’s title reign is pretty much remembered for how he won it and how it ended. The WMXX match along with the emotional moment with Eddie and then losing it to Orton which is always talked about today among fans regardless of WWE not being able to talk about Benoit fully. 2004 around that time was a weird time because a lot of wrestlers were injured and there wasn’t as many stars for Benoit to have those great matches with or tried to. I don’t know why they didn’t have Benoit vs Jericho. He just faced off against HHH, HBK, and Kane before losing the title to Orton. That’s why I think they could’ve done more with it. I wish he had more of a feud with HBK too but it was kind of overshadowed by Benoit feuding with HHH.

Now i can see why everyone is so nostalgic of this era, that seemed great. I really started to watch in 10 so i had different standard. Miz was and still is one one my favorite wrestler. And my personnal golden age was Smackdown 2016, the best era in my opinion

I grew up with the 2005-2007 era of smackdown. Even tho I was born in 1997. I loved that time of the wwe. It wasn’t as great as the attitude era but it was great

Cena's reign was awfully short and did help keep the Title relevant. However, Benoit and Eddie added a shit tonne of prestige to the Title, then Benoit feuding with Orlando turned the Title into mega-stardom as it was essentially being defended on every possible SmackDown PPV, and then the storyline of the Best-Of-Seven Series incorporating Randy Orton into the Benoit vs. Booker mix = made it even more of a prestigious Title to hold, and then... Cena kept on becoming World Champ for the most part, so I'd say after Benoit's passing it was MVP who made the Title relevant again... As Booker eventually became World Champ and retired shortly after. Point being, US title mattered a lot more once Cena lost it tbh...

WWE roster of 2002 really was the best roster they ever had. They had stars from WCW, ECW, The Attitude Era, New Generation Era, and the Golden Era, alongside the debuts of Cena, Orton, Lesnar, and Batista.

Sometimes , I think why didn't they move Jericho to SmackDown post wm 20!! He wasn't doing anything on raw and SmackDown needed stars. He could've had a WWE championship reign instead of JBL , during which many people stopped watching.

To me the 2002-2004 era of Smackdown was golden, Lesnar, Cena, Orton, Angle and many others were young and in their prime, The Mr. America segment, It was still in its original Thursday night 8pm slot, I looked so forward to it every week.

I'll give you an FBI story but for ECW. Me and 2 friends sat 1st row for ECW in 97 in New Britain CT....opening match was the FBI vs Balls & Axel. The FBI come in first....we cheer. Then Balls & Axel come out...Axel grabs the fan cam and points it at us...and goes, "Look at the f@%$ in the FBI shirts" I think that was the same night Sabu tried to hang from a moving ceiling fan to do a splash. I saw so many ECW shows live from 96 til it closed. Always a crazy experience
