@@AnEmu404 It personally reminds me of when I got in trouble in primary school, the time I spent sitting outside of the principal's office thinking about the worst case scenario felt like it lasted an eternity, and all of that was way worse than the actual event of going inside the office and explaining what I had done. It really fascinating because you're literally playing as a burglar yet for some reason the owner arriving is just terrifying the first time it happens, like in any other scenario where you were to play as a character who just arrived home only to find there's someone in there with him you'd be scared sh*tless, but here, the absolute silence (apart from the clock) as well as the suddenness and the fact nothing warns you that the owner coming back home is even a thing prior or even as you play the game until the clock makes it so damn horrifying to hear him pull up the driveway as you just...panic. Big fan of this game if you couldn't tell, also really well made video, keep up the good work!

I just wanna say I really love your BGM and overall art aesthetic, and that you are my favorite type of pasta. Also, this reminds me a very vivid dream I once had, so vivid that I started to make a game based on it but eventually shelved it. I don't wanna go into all the details, but similar to this it was a horror/puzzle game with no monster, and lighting played an important role. As you would play in this large maze-like park, day and night would pass by. During the day you would have the sun, and nights would start will full moon, but progress towards new moon with every night, and so it would get gradually darker and darker until the final night gave you something to really fear. What it was is something I never established, but it wasn't important as that slow buildup towards it.

I love that game with every fiber of my being and I have yet to figure out why HOUSE of all the horror games I've watched and played gets me on edge. This kind of reminds me of a scene from Crime and Punishment, where Raskolnikov has just killed someone not once, but twice, and then as he's standing there with her things, floor soaked with blood, axe in his hands, someone comes to the door. Holy crap I totally forgot about this game! I discovered it on a french channel, it wasn't as popular in France, but the french Pewdiepie ripoff played it back then! Also, reminded me of how I became a Lakeview Cabin fan. I did some let's plays on Lakeview Cabin Collection years ago a month after the game came out, made videos as the game got more content, and deleted everything years later 'cuz I was 11 years old when I made the let's play and my voice cringed the soul out of me. Then, I replayed it years later, and it became one of my favorite video-game series ever. I even downloaded the first flash little game that was originally Lakeview Cabin to put it on Steam because I love it. When I replay it, I feel happy, nostalgic, and a lot of adrenaline, I even discovered new things, lore that came with Lakeview Valley and Lakeview Cabin 2, and when I discovered everything, I started speedrunning the game, didn't become involved in the community 'cuz I'm really shy, but it's crazy how some indie games can be rediscovered years later. Also, the grandfather clock reminds me a lot of some gameplay mechanics in Lakeview Cabin. The crows in chapter III, the spaceship alarm in chapter VI, the, well, grandfather clock in the christmas minisode, the clock sound when it's midnight in Lakeview Valley, heck, even the sound of the deer dying in the flash Lakeview Cabin game. It's great!

Thanks for making this video, TVOThief has a special place in my heart and the unexpectedly suspenseful atmosphere is a big reason for it. However, there’s one thing I disagree with, and it’s your remark on how the owner himself is goofy. I always thought he was the most terrifying part of the game. It’s bad enough that he won’t hesitate to beat you to the ground as soon as he finds you, but he can also sprint up behind you without making a sound, with definitely gave me a heart attack a few times. But the worse part? His face is completely blank. It’s uncanny enough to feel like whatever you’re up against isn’t exactly human. Something worse than the thief you’re playing as.

i cant believe someone would make a video about this game so many years later (i forgot it existed anyway) but this genuinely makes me so happy to see. i was around 9 when i played this game and whenever i heard the homeowner park outside, i would go into the garage to barricade myself in and then spam click the door until it let me leave lol

I didn’t even know this game existed til you talked about it! I love your explanation for why the game is scary even when it wasn’t trying to be normally (the Halloween update is another story!)

Oh man! I remember this game, so many memories!

It's games like these that make me realize that horror games are only scary because of their imagery and their mystery factory. Take the mystery and imagery away and what do you have? Chase sequences that are first person pov Pac-Man, time limits, and limited to no able to fight back. Base TVOT shows this on full display. The Halloween update gives you the imagery a proper horror experience deserves.

Hey pastra, there's a unknown indie horror game that I think it would be interesting for you to review. It's name is mundaun, it's pretty much a "small town horror story"

This brings me back with memories of those times where that type of games were famous! It made me remember one about being a good husband? And you would do (optional) tasks like cleaning, putting in place some stuff, etc, just being overall a "good" husband but in the end you would find your wife cheat on you, it was fun back in those years to watch youtubers play it.

So basically Don't Breathe: The video game Overall, I think stealth games are underrated, with many being labelled as "horror", even when they really are stealth games first and horror games second. I mean you could argue Amnesia: Dark Descent is just a spooky stealth game.

Hey Pastra! Have you ever played “Presentable Liberty”? It’s an older game but it’s a pretty incredible experience that I think you would enjoy. A very different take on horror.
