I had a Bryant central air. When it went out my HVAC contractor talked me into an Amana system. He told me it had a lifetime warranty. About 8 years later the compressor when out. He told me no problem and brought me a brand new one, no charge. I called Amana which is made by Goodman air conditioner company here in Houston and ask them if they still give lifetime warranty on their units. They said anything with a 16 SEER rating and above. They said in the future if it goes out just let the HVAC company know and they will replace the unit FREE ! You can't beat a deal like that.

Brands? I’m very familiar with Trane. I don’t sell them. I repair ALOT of them. Over priced garbage. You can’t stop a Trane because alot of them don’t even start. I have good luck installing Rheem. Half the price. I understand dealers hyping the name because of the costs of becoming a dealer. We had a Rheem RTU installed for a restaurant. They had put in a Trane RTU 3 months prior. Trane had multiple problems in first 3 years (Gad valve, draft motor, 3 ignitors and 2 contactors). Rheem only had filter changes.

@Race Hill Farms Until you need any kind of repair. then its time to fork out thousands to pay for the Trane name. A 2004 Trane XR-90 furnace needs an entire upgrade kit to replace ANY of the following: Inducer, board, igniter, and blower for upwards of $1000. While a 2004 Lennox can be repaired very easily with universal parts. Trane is NOTHING special. They are just more expensive so homeowners and sales guys think that means quality and it most certainly does NOT. Not saying Lennox is better operationally, because all systems work the same if installed correctly, but they are for sure better if you dont want to be bent over and fucked for repairs.

Trane uses cheap ass parts. I'm not even 5 years into my system and the air handler has serious rust, the blower already had to be replaced, the capacitors don't last for shit and Trane could care less.
