Well, it's not exactly supposed to be a serious request. However, it does make sense if you actually view it in a serious manner. Boba was required to bring Han to Jabba alive, so when he suspected that Vader might kill him, he asserted, "He's no good to me dead." So, the question poses a scenario in which Boba was instead allowed to bring Han to Jabba dead, rendering Han "good" to him dead.
