If they're really going to make a movie about how "women can do anything as good as a man could do," at least make it good. Even without the marketing, the movie was trash. Which basically means "women deserve a terrible movie to represent them and should be used only for popularity." As a women I can say, I would rather be represented as a white girl who loves pink and cute boys then this. Another thing: Is this how the creators of the movie see us? Do people see women as a way to earn money and start internet drama? If they really wanted to show how strong women can be, why not make something original and entertaining? Girls are more than "We are strong." Give a character flaws, or it becomes a situation where you have to protect a certain audience from being offended. And if your point is to represent woman as strong, than that's literally throwing that whole concept in the trash. If your still reading, thank you for going through this whole thing, it means a lot if someone cares about my opinion :)

Read the entire thing, and I totally agree. Maybe I don't get this as much as you wahmen would (I'm a dude), but it's pretty scummy that Hollywood only sees women as a marketing ploy. Hell, as a man I can say I would rather be represented as a white girl who loves pink and cute boys than the characters in this movie. "Is this how the creators of the movie see us? Do people see women as a way to earn money and start internet drama? If they really wanted to show how strong women can be, why not make something original and entertaining? Girls are more than "We are strong." Give a character flaws, or it becomes a situation where you have to protect a certain audience from being offended. And if your point is to represent woman as strong, than that's literally throwing that whole concept in the trash." This is something I've been saying for years. Heck, it's something plenty of people have been saying for years. You don't make a strong female character by making her super good at everything so that she "don't need no man" because that's just not how people are. People aren't perfect. And refusing to have a female character with reasonable character flaws implies that women are just perfect and don't have to actually work to achieve anything, which is obviously untrue and a harmful message to send out. No, you make a good, strong female character by first and foremost making a well thought out, strong, multifaceted character and then having them be female. Because sex is only a small part of what makes a person who they are. You're welcome for reading through, I care about your opinion.

There is a quote from a book I read a long time ago that went something like, women CAN do everything men can do but this doesn't mean they should have to to prove their worth. They should be free to choose what fulfillment they want and celebrated for their differences that make them women. Women have the most important job in the world and that is deciding the fate of the human race. Men can spread their seed anywhere and the consequences may not be as crucial as if a woman will take anything that comes her way. The author explains that women can see an end to horrible behavior simply by treating men who deserve to be forgotten by history as such and that those men either havebto change for the better or they will die out. This is the single most important gift women have and it is so forgotten about because the profound effect it has on the course of humanity. I think we all share responsibility for this but I see the authors point. Don't segregate people and refuse them a chance to prove their worth but don't just try to ignore the differences that make people unique.

My pitch would've been: Woman who's tried every MLM out there with no success and alienated all but two of her childhood friends sees an ad for a Ghostbusters franchise. The original owners sold out long ago and the whole thing is preassembled and planned out like buying a Froyo shop, or Amway. She ropes her friends into it for capital, but ghosts have not appeared en masse since the "incident" in the 80s. Then one day... it writes itself from here. It's about women. About friendships and the strains of mixing business and personal relationships. Some of them maybe have families. And how they have to learn to come together when this pet project gets REAL. You can hit many of the beats of the original: getting a location, advertising, low funds, first big break, business disagreements, montages, pushovers and bullies, etc. It can be both a comedy, yet have real emotions and characters that care about each other.

Why does every movie about women have to be about females fighting to show we are worthy of being equal to men? Why not just show us in the positions where we should be (equall) and just concentrate on making a one hay of a movie plot? because lets face it, people get tired of having the female power movement shoved down their throats. It is more effective to show a movie where the woman is already the president, it dont shove it down anyones throat and it still shows that its a powerful position we can and should be in.

Maria Quitob - Hello (insert preferred gender here) I can easily see why a movie can magically destroy ones life. After the feminist Ghost busters reboot every woman reverted back to their primal forms where they were seen as all but useless at doing anything productive but fucking, giving birth, picking berries and cooking for the God of the house (Male superior). Like it should be but nothing ever goes the way it should does it woman. Shoulda been born a winner like all Men were. PS: More men are depressed then woman now cos woman hang these fucking high expectations over men's heads like a donkey pulling a cart with a carrot dangling just over its head. Despicable that woman always have the last laugh in the end. this is what feminism has done to man. Disgusting! PSS: Remember to just continue to 1: Give head 2: marry the poor bastard 3: divorce him after four crappy years of marriage 4: Take all his money and easily get custody of your three year old child 5: Ruin him by demanding money to help raise the child 6: waste the money on Luxuries/alcohol and cigarettes 7: Find that the poor depressed man has reverted to male prostitution and recently hung himself! Well that went dark! Just wanted to make a sexist comment then I made an essay. Whatever...

Female Ghostbusters could have worked, if the movie was handled differently. The reboot was a bad idea. A continuation would have been better. When they announced a new GB movie, I was super psyched. I expected a continuation. Maybe the original Ghostbusters' kids or grandkids were going to take over the family business with the originals backing them up and giving them advice. If this was the case, they could have had a couple female GBs and it would have made sense. Also, yes, I'm pissed that my gender was used as a marketing ploy. But I'm even more pissed that so many women fell for it.

They never existed in the new movie. One of them (Bill Murrey) even plays the role of an entirely new character. The old Ghostbusters are NOT still there in the new one. They actively attempted to remove them from this new canon to try and make the new ones seem more empowered. If there had been a previous ghostbuster team than they couldn't have justified how the new team keeps being put down as crazies.

@DaFieFie8 жыл бұрын
conkerlive101 Also for a real answer. He has been animating long enough to figure out what shortcuts can be taken without making it look like shit. I would assume he makes generous use of assets he made which DRAMATICALLY reduces work load. Essentially he can reuse older drawings or models in creative ways without it becoming too obvious due to the show's format. Since he tends to stick to very simple scenes, I wouldn't be shocked if there were episodes where he had to do almost no drawing from scratch. Animating still takes awhile of course, but this is just one of many tricks animators use to save time and thus money.

the movie's out of theaters and on video. People on the whole stopped caring. Which, honestly, we should have AGES ago. You didn't see this kind of seething hatred over Total Recall or Robocop. If a bad remake is goingto be predictably bad, then the best option is just to leave it the fuck alone and let it peacefully die. Instead, this film got dragged out and put up for display in the public square. And hell, at the end of it, it wasn't even that bad. Granted, it wasn't great either, but it wasn't the trainwreck all the predictions would have had you believe.

Those reboots were forgotten because it did not have the vitriol aggressive marketing this movie had. Labeling everyone that said it looks like shit a sexist, and a misogynist. I think the biggest issue with the Ghost Busters reboot, besides the writing, was the fact that it was a reboot. You're not remaking the old characters, you're not restarting the Peter Parker story. They got all the old actors to play cameos and they just ushered them out like a circus animal. They could have just been retired and this new team could have gone in its own direction instead of doing the original with females and modern tropes. At least making it a reboot means its non-canon from the original and we can all forget about it next year.

As a woman and a feminist, I certainly can't fault those who were pissed about this film's very existance. There was nothing wrong with it, but there was just no justification whatsoever for the protaginists to be randomly genderswapped other than to let dumb people label as mysoginist anyone who dared to complain. It's the exact same shit they're pulling even with race right now: "let's make one of the characters black, then sit back and enjoy the fans who aren't okay with blatant tokenism get called racist. That will cause some drama and trick the masses into giving a shit about the billionth spider-man movie we're making!" Also, don't even try to please Tumblr. Give her an expansion bay that connects to some kind of fleshlight or something. Like the Sega CD, but sexier.

If you close one eye it looks 3D when you watch the parts of the video where the screen has an old fashioned TV frame. Because using only one eye turns off your depth perception, it is reasonable that at first I thought it was 3D and I felt it with a finger to check if it was just part of the screen

I just love how much effort is put into these braindumps. Not only the thoughts put into the commentary, but the animations, little details and the TV-woman face that has a unique look to fit the theme of halloween as well

I predict this thread will get marked as spam before it reaches 300 likes. I made a joke about being a YT hero and that's what happened to me. Some people just can't detect sarcasm, no matter how obvious you make it.

They should of never tried to remake ghost busters in the first place, it was fine how it was. Now making them women? God I hated it. It didn't have the same spark as the old ones did. It would of been kinda cool if it had been their children following in their footsteps, but it really just needed to be left alone.
